Probably because it's a save from a game with Ambitions and WA, you don't even have the world it's saved in unless you have Ambitions.

I'm pretty sure they are under Wall Light in the buy catalogue.

Carrigon has been posting her stuff at dinnerbell which is nice. It gave me a chance to update some hacks...
4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Less than a day, already a hack is desperately needed! on: 2006 October 19, 00:52:53
I had a cat with two homes, she was out all day and never ate at home. After a while I found out that she spent the days at a house a few hundred meters from us, apparantly they had better food...
5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What downloads to delete to make loading times of game and lots more efficient? on: 2006 October 11, 03:52:44
I have used the basemesh-recolour scanner in SimPe for some time and as far as I can tell it only finds meshes that are in the same folder as the recolors. When the mesh was in another folder the recolors showed as being without mesh even if both folders were scanned, when moved to the same folder it found the basemesh.
6  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: where has my flamingo wall light gone? on: 2006 September 18, 15:35:20
Scan your downloads with SimPe checking GUID control. That way you can see if something is overwriting the Flamingo light. Some items are supposed to have conflicting GUIDs, hacks mostly.

Do you mean Numenor's fix?

I have attached it to the post.

Edit: I added the combined fix for the tulip lamp and the colonial ironwood bed.

Edit again: If it's in the CEP the shouldn't be needed so I'll remove them.
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Stupid Virus Scanner on: 2006 August 11, 11:36:11
You could try using the free online-scan at Panda: http://www.pandasoftware.com/

That found and removed a virus F-Secure told me was on my computer but could not delete. It removes any found viruses and alerts you if you have spyware. Spyware is not removed though.

I believe some motherboards needs drivers to be able to run SATA-discs as system discs. I know mine did and we had to copy them to a floppy that Windows asked for in the beginning of the installation.

My guess is that if you have a SATA-disc as system disc the floppy you found is what it's asking for.
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Screen resolution on: 2006 May 27, 02:21:40
Flat monitors are made to show the clearest picture in recommended resolutions, you loose some quality as soon as you use any other . Other than that it doesn't really matter.

In The Sims 2 I didn't find the difference too big but I use the recommende resolution anyway, in Oblivion the difference in quality between 800x600 and 1280x1024 is enormous.
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Screen resolution on: 2006 May 27, 02:14:35
You should use the monitor's recommended resolution, usually 1280x1024.
12  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Where oh where have my custom bodyshop parts gone? on: 2006 May 20, 18:12:15
I read somewhere sometime that the downloads folder had to have a capital D to work (after an expansion, probably OFB). I don't know if it is true or if you already have a capital D there...
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Binned hair sharing on: 2006 March 24, 23:30:28
I think that was the tutorial I followed and none of my hair dissapeared (I think, with the amount I had I probably wouldn't have noticed if some went poof  Smiley)
Does that mean I have too much custom hair?
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Binned hair sharing on: 2006 March 24, 01:35:21
I have a lot of binned custom hair.

From most I have removed excess ages (sometimes maybe removing an age that was changed...) and I have also mostly removed the grey hair from all colours except the black, except when that hair was changed in some way. If I had hair that didn't fit into families I just marked the grey not to show so the sims would keep the hairstyle when they aged.

I wouldn't mind sharing if anyone would want any of the hairs I have (all are free) but since I have quite many I really don't know which ones would be of interest.
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: OFB and DeleteAllCharacters on: 2006 March 23, 00:25:13
I think so too, as far as I've seen it will be there after I have used Bodyshop. I usually delete it, a couple of times my game wouldn't start and I found a thread where that advice was given. It worked so both times so now I delete it as soon as I notice it.
16  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: FFS "Batbox" Lot Debugger v2.0: NUCLEAR WAR EDITION on: 2006 March 20, 01:30:58
You can delete them if you force error on them and choose delete. There usually is a whole bunch of them so it may seem it's not working but the signs have different numbers so you can see it is different ones that are deleted. I'm mentioning this because the first time I tried this I didn't think it worked.

It seems like there is either none teleporting or at least 5-10 at the same time. Today it seems there was more signs at the corner of my home business lot than I had sold that day (the store had been restocked the night before).
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Computer detection screwed-up since second patch on: 2006 March 05, 16:43:47
Do you have the .net framework on your computer? The later ATI drives won't work properly without it and sometimes the result of those drivers without it is strange.
18  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Tutorial - Enabling Adult custom clothing for Elders on: 2006 February 20, 00:37:28
They use the adult mesh but with the elder posture.
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Have to reinstall PC, any thoughts? on: 2006 February 15, 02:44:06
Actually, the RAM on the graphic card is not the most important thing. The GF6800 GTO is a much more powerful card than Radeon 9600Pro, even if it has only 128 MB RAM.

But I agree, your specs sounds very good, the game should run smoothly even on high settings.
As for the reinstall, I would suggest that you run a virus check on the back-up before you put it back on your computer, it is quite possible for viruses to be transferred to the external harddrive and then back to your computer. That happened to a girl I know, only she burnt the virus to a CD with her back-ups. Her computer was to the shop to be cleaned from the same virus several times until the people at the shop started asking what she did when she got home. They found it very strange that she would get the exactly same virus over and over again despite having up-to-date virus protection...
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: But it seemed like such a good idea at the time! on: 2006 February 05, 03:57:47
I started cleaning out my downloads ages ago. When I started I had about 3,5GB of downloads. Today I finally went through the last folder and checked the size of the downloads folder. It's now 4,8GB with almost 28.000 files  Shocked (That might be becuse I didn't exactly stop downloading while cleaning out...)
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Logitech mouse and The Sims 2 and this big HUGE hammer! on: 2006 February 04, 19:19:37
I just tested it and setting it to middle button did work. I had totally missed that option.

Thank you for the tip, it's nice to be able to use all the features of the mouse.
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Logitech mouse and The Sims 2 and this big HUGE hammer! on: 2006 February 04, 15:50:50
SetPoint is the Logitech software I got with the mouse. With it it's possible to change what the buttons does, speed and such. I think it just is a later version of their drivers. It can even recognise some games to customise the mouse for them and allows you to save any preferences you have for different games. The Sims2 was not one of the games it recognized though and as I said the pressing of the scroll wheel didn't work in game.

I'm afraid that I am out of ideas. Hopefully someone else can give you more help.
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Logitech mouse and The Sims 2 and this big HUGE hammer! on: 2006 February 04, 15:15:20
I'm not sure about this since it was some time ago I used it.

In autostart (Start/Programs) I have the Logitech programs, as far as I remember you only have to delete them. That way you can still start them yourself (some games run better with the software on), but it won't start every time the computer does. I'm not sure this is enough though. If it isn't you have to find the Autostart folder (which I know I found at some point but can't remember where) and remove it there.

It is also possible to just uninstall the software with add/remove programs. At least if you have the Logitech SetPoint that I have.

I tried every setting I found before closing the software, everything would work perfectly except in The Sims2. Even there everything but pressing the scroll-whell would work. Of course that doesn't mean I didn't miss some option...
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Logitech mouse and The Sims 2 and this big HUGE hammer! on: 2006 February 04, 14:35:03
I had a symbol of it in the field with the time, just right-clicked and chose end (or whatever it says in English, mine is in Swedish). Otherwise you probably have to find it in the quick-start and disable it there.
25  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Logitech mouse and The Sims 2 and this big HUGE hammer! on: 2006 February 04, 14:22:24
I recently bought a Logitech mouse that i really love, but I have to turn off the software every time I play because the pressing scroll wheel to move the camera angle doesn't work with it on. Maybe the same thing would work for you.
