I just get rid of fugly dormies the Pescado way -- put nouniprotect in the game and let them kill themselves off with their own stupidity. All my knowledge sims graduate with one or two urnstones in their inventory.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Three last questions, I swear this is it

The method I use to respawn an urnstone is to place a summoner and the lot debugger on the lot. I use the teleportation shrub but any summoner should work. Enter the lot with testing cheats enabled. Pause the game and summon the ghost, ghosts are usually in the "default" family. As soon as the ghost appears, it will appear even with the game paused, click on the ghost and make it selectable. Select the ghost and click the lot debugger then select respawn urnstone. The urnstone should appear, then click the ghost again and make it unselectable, unpause, and the ghost should disappear leaving the urnstone. I don't have the game up right now and I can't remember if this option appears on the lot debugger with a regular click or shift click.

I had never tried the familyfunds cheat from in-lot before, because I stupidly believed the EAxis readme :
"familyfunds NAME XXXX Assigns money value to a family from the neighborhood level."
Stupid EAxis readme. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

I tend not to worry about the money. I look at it as my money, not the family's. If I'm playing a poor family, I give them enough money so that I can do what I want. If I want the repo man to show up, I just don't pay the bills. If they do buy something at an owned commercial lot, I sell it the next time I play that family. Admittedly, not the most realistic scenario, but it works for me.

Seasons will not run, and will return a "disc not found" error, if it detects any SCSI equipment on the computer. This includes any actual SCSI hardware devices as well as any virtual drives. Some examples of software that install virtual SCSI drives include NERO, CloneCD, Daemon tools, and many others. If this is the problem SD4hide will work with seasons, and YASU will work with BV, to hide these devices from the game.

The family funds cheat is working fine for me post BV. The format is the same as it has always been, familyfunds familyname amount, or if the name has a space enclose it in quotation marks, familyfunds "family name" amount. The only difference I have noticed is that it works in-lot as well as from the neighborhood screen.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Question on moving tombstones

Usually, I just use the teleporter shrub to summon the ghost, and pause before it can disappear. I then use testing cheats to make the ghost selectable, the lot debugger to spawn the tombstone, and then make the ghost unselectable again before unpausing. I have noticed no ill effects from this method, and the old tombstone does disappear, but i can't say that it's not causing unseen problems.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Sandcastle fix?
|
on: 2007 September 17, 13:25:51

I noticed that TwoJeffs has released a fix for sandcastles. Quote from RTFM: "Fixes Sandcastles so they properly delete themselves instead of littering the lot with stuck invisible objects." I havent seen this issue being discussed anywhere else. Is it an issue, and is an awesome fix in the works, or should we just grab TwoJeffs fix?

The only time I have seen that particular error, (conflict with emulation software detected), was when I had to restart my computer and I forgot to load YASU before trying to load the game. If it helps at all I'm running YASU 1.3.7071 and Daemon tools 4.06. I've tried the newer builds of both programs and could not get them to work, but this combination seems to be working fine.

If it was me I'd back up the 'hood, warp their realationships with your weapon of choice (mine would be testing cheats), get the shots you want, nuke the 'hood, and restore the backup.

boolProp snapObjectsToGrid [true/false] - Toggles the ability to fine-tune the placement of items, instead of being limited to just placing them at certain spots on the grid. If you find you can't place windows and doors because they won't snap properly onto walls, disable this cheat (and/or remove it from your user startup cheat file) and try again. - From my copy of the game cheats but I can't remember who wrote it
