Has anyone heard any rumour that the Fairlight release of BV is borked and dooms the game to crash once you enter buy mode? I haven't, but my sources are quite limited. However, I'm starting to blame BV for the constant crashes I experience and if it is really Fairlight who messed up, I might even aquire the original disc

A long time ago Kathy (and her hubby i think) from Insim made me a hacked cash register. It works just like the grocery dialog except you can remove 100s, 1000s, or 100000s of dollars.
I don't know if theyve still got it at insim but when I get home I'll attach it here.
Yes, it's still there in form of a spawn- or buyable adjuster.

What would you recommend as important facts of a new supply? When my old computer's one was replaced by a LC Power Silent Giant 420w, criterias included:
- of course, how many watts? 350w should be the minimun, 450w is far better and anything above 500w is probably pure luxus for an older computer from my POV. But compare the prices. If you can get a 500w+ one for just little more money than a 450w, get the better one.
- the size of the fan ... my computer case had pretty poor cooling fans, after adding a power supply with a 140mm fan temperatures decreased by 10°C. Also pay attention to reports if the fan tends to break pretty easily or any other common problems.
- are there enough cables to connect all your hardware? Though it's rather unlikely that your 150w one has more than a new one...
- some may find it important, I did not care for sound or energy cost. Some are more economically, some aren't ... whatever.

Invisigoth, even thought the Trills are not my own sims, I'm sure the skintones are crunk kitty's ones. Though I didn't spend much attention to them... which could also mean I don't have that weirdness you described, since I tend to be pretty picky with skintones. I'll pay attention when I do more pics.
Note for myself: Don't post links before heading off to bed. I absolutely did not notice the double http:// crap until now.

Besides keeping copies of the original downloads, get any duplicates scanning tool of your liking and let it search your downloads folder.
I'm using NoClone, which is unfortunately not free, but pretty neat with its smartmarker function as well as the "Keep one copy" option.

Got some recolours of the outfit in light blue and purple, but those come without the crap looking parts. I just don't recall where I actually got them...

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Is it safe to rename your neighbourhoods?
|
on: 2007 August 09, 22:20:53
|
Say if you got a copy of the entire N001 folder and you would like to rename it to N111, is it ok to just rename the main folder, then go to the subfolders and the main neighbourhood files and batch rename/replace each file to N111...whateverandso.on instead of N001?
Somewhere else, I came across a help seeking thread where someone renamed a neighbourhood and it wouldn't show up anymore. People advised to restore the original name and not to try again, because it would mess up the NeighbourhoodManager file - which was safe to delete to be automatically recreated, I always thought. Now I don't know if that person just wrote Pleasantview instead of N001 or whatever or if he or she even bothered to deal with the content in the folders ... it just made me wonder why my very own copy of Riverblossom Hills does work.

Two more dogs from InSim ... "[ur=http://www.insimenator.net/showthread.php?t=32318l]Stray for a long time[/url]" comes as a small dog, though I think the effect of its skinniness is far better visible as a large one. " Freaksow" also looks rather scruffy, in a cute way. ... and looking at those cats pics makes me wanna cuddle my kitten now.

If it's saved as CD quality, you can re-save it as radio quality, without affecting the sound much. Sorry to disagree, I think you notice the difference pretty well, at least in terms of music. Speaking in kb/s, 128 kb/s should be the absolute minimum unless it will be played on crappy devices with poor earphones/speakers. If it's only audio like a plain audio book, podcast or play, lower rates are acceptable.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Go to work in everyday clothing mod?
|
on: 2007 June 11, 14:38:53

Does anyone recall a mod that made Sims go to work in their everyday clothing? I got some Bodybuilder / Athletes / SlimBB / soon HBB bullies for my Mafia subhood and it gets annoying that they go to work in the stupid normal Slick Suits.
Now I wish I had a backup of that mod - it is probably an rather old one, but hopefully still functional. I'm pretty sure that the link was posted here once, but my searche get kinda repetitive as they all end up with Motoki's clothing equality mod.

Hehehe, I'm a bad tester - instead of trying different houses, I got rid of the whole neighbourhood (a fresh start of Pleasantview) and went back to my favoruite hood. But true, I'm going to prevent surprises for future tries with single neighbourhoods and will go double-checking the Program Files folders.
