TS4: The Pee-ening / Insert Amusing Name Here / Re: Sims 4 Problem and Annoyance Thread--Take 2!

All these supposed "fixes" and "causes" mixed with my own experience and the very small sampling I have taken make me think it is inherent in the game.
I'm certain that the time problem seems to be an issue with the engine itself, as sometimes the speed controls stop responding, or things keep moving even when the game is paused. The original game never had any issues; the problem only started happening after a patch from some time ago. IMO it's worse than TS3's shitty performance. Parties last forever; dates end too quickly. With all the queue-dropping and route failures in this game, it takes me the entire length of a date just to get seated at the goddamn table. Heh, that's weird. I have the exact opposite issue. Can't score a Gold party because time runs out way too quickly to complete the objectives.

I have an idea what may be causing this. Babysitters, for example, do not have a uniform, but the Showtime EP added a career outfit category to all Sims. When a career doesn't have a specific uniform (brown check shirt and jeans are the uniform of the consignment clerk) the game rolls a random one, and the babysitter does wear a career outfit when they come to your house. Usually the career outfit for these was then just a copy of their Everyday1, and I think that AM made sure that it was indeed so. Now recently there was the change for outerwear, because AM also simply copied Everyday1 for that, too. With that fixed, my guess is that career outfits that don't have a specific uniform are now randomised (again), too. And almost everything in CAS is enabled for career by default. I remember that in the past, maybe shortly after installing Showtime, my babysitters arrived in weird clothing. They didn't anymore for a while, but now they do it again in fresh games and the timing coincides with the changes made to outerwear assignment in AM. Ah, that would explain the outerwear issue and possibly the babysitter. Come to think of it, I noticed my sim's outerwear had reset after I updated AM. Not sure what's up with the other NPCs though. I've noticed female bar staff are also wearing the same pink flowery dress, and the bouncers are all wearing suits. It's like something is causing the uniforms to point to the wrong parts.

You could be right about the babysitter, although the game said she was wearing the "uniform" outfit (which consisted of a random prom dress and bowler hat). The consignment specialist is definitely meant to have a uniform, in this particular save she's wearing a skimpy, flowery, pink dress instead of the frumpy brown frock. I don't recall ever editing her. In fact, I'm certain she didn't even exist until very recently. I guess it's not impossible I somehow overwrote her proper uniform though. Is there a way to "reset" NPC uniforms to the EAxian defaults?
As for work uniforms, my sim's uniform was working fine until he got promoted to Pop Icon (Music career). Now his new uniform is exactly the same as his everyday outfit except for the addition of sunglasses, instead of the correct outfit. This particular world/save isn't particularly old. i'll try nuking them and see what happens with their replacements.

After much testing, I've determined that AwesomeMod is causing issues with outfits. Some NPCs (e.g. babysitter, consignment merchant) aren't wearing the correct uniform, instead wearing everyday or random clothing. My own sims also wear everyday clothes to work instead of the proper uniform. Special outfits, like the beekeeping bonnet and the chemistry lab coat aren't appearing either, and my Sims had their outerwear suddenly changed to everyday/random clothing. No such issues with AwesomeMod removed.

I actually managed to create differing relationship bar levels between two Sims when I was messing around with the relationship cheats. It was either a glitch, or perhaps the game does support two-sided relationships but adjusts the levels for both Sims to match each other for whatever reason.

- The tutorial. 'Nuff said. - The stupid jingles for everything. Emotion stings have already been nuked by a mod, but loading a lot also plays a really irritating sting. - The maid barely wears a maid's uniform. Most of the time she wears generic clothing, though she randomly showed up in a more traditional maid's outfit with apron. - As said above, the maid sometimes never shows up. - We need a gardener NPC. My Sim's relatively small garden takes way too many hours every day to maintain. Weirdly I noticed a gardener Sim (with appropriate uniform) tending to the neighborhood allotments, so there's no reason why there couldn't be an identical NPC for hire. - Every time you load the home lot, you are charged for the maid (she supposedly visits while you are out) even when there is absolutely nothing to be cleaned. - When sims get married, the spouse doesn't move in nor do they change their last name. In fact, there is no way to change a Sim's name whatsoever. - You can't plan a party in advance, like in The Sims 3. Once you set one up it begins immediately. - Relationships no longer recognize step-family, like in The Sims 3. My Sim married Katrina Caliente, but apparently her daughters Nina and Dina aren't family to him (now there's an opening for a story...) Also half-siblings are considered full-blooded brothers/sisters for some inane reason. - No biographies for Sims! - You can't view any information about a Sim while they are at work or school! - Random Sims cockblocking when my Sims are flirting with each other. - Despite the allegedly improved AI, Sims will watch TV/play a game/learn a skill until they drop. - My game crashes when travelling if the simulation speed is higher than 1. - A skill journal to keep track of all the skill level unlocks would be great. I can't remember what special abilities they have earned. - A Sim can't Change Appearance using a mirror if it's over a sink... - What do you do with all those Frog terrariums? They take up a full tile each and can't be stacked.
Also, do any pirates know how to unlock the bonus content, or is that not possible at this stage?

Edit: I tried again with a vanilla game and it worked. How's one supposed to customize the suit though? You can't plan outfit nor change appearance when it's equipped. Update: Well I uninstalled the pack and then reinstalled it but suiting up still doesn't work so my guess is it's a ccmerge issue since it does work in the vanilla game.
From what I can tell, it looks like the suit isn't an outfit. It's actually an object that goes over the Sim, using similar resources to the CAS clothing for its mesh and textures etc.

Arred it a few days ago, so I've had some time to get to grips with it. I'm actually enjoying the future, and I love how efficient everything is. I don't have to waste time getting around, or cooking, cleaning etc. The wasteland has a nice Tatooine vibe (and check out who's living there). They even made a Futurama household.
Haven't noticed any real glitches regarding the new content. My loading times are much longer since installing the EP though (except for travelling, which seems to have improved). Also all the descendants seem to be fat puddings, although I'm sure that's a feature.

Why are all newly created sims getting a WA camera, if there is perfectly good camera included in the new smartphone?
Without WA installed, this is the only way to get a proper camera (it would have made more sense to just sell it at the supermarket though).

I managed to fix the problem with editsim. As soon as it loaded she reverted to her old appearance, so I just accepted the "changes" and everything was alright again. Very annoying though.
Wasn't too impressed when I sent my sim back to uni for the next term. The game reassigned all the role NPCs, so former roommates became mixologists and cashiers, and a barista became my sim's new professor. One of the pre-made professors ended up taking over the coffee shop.

It would be nice to have the ability to move house while at university. Seems like a glaring omission.
Why would you need to? You're there for two weeks tops and there's no meaningful need to move. Sims 2 did it better. In case I regret my choice of accomodation, or want to get well away from annoying dormies?

So this totally happened. I had my sim take a smart phone picture with one of the sorority girls, queued up some romantic interactions, and when I next looked back she had regenerated into a clone of my sim.
