1) Thatīs wounderful of you to make this list! Very very helpful, thanks a lot!
2) Last night we missed the option to order a fotoalbum via computer. It was too late to take a closer look at the issue but I suspect "visitorenabledcomputers" (Squinge) although it comes up fine with hack-diff, as it addresses the pie-menues. I will check on that as soon as I find time and report here if nobody is faster than me.

Could anyone be so nice and check on "youngadultshoppers" by Squinge (I have not found it on the list)? I have a feeling it might be broken! I also would be thankful for a description of this hack, since I seem to have lost mine. I cannot remember what the hack was supposed to do besides enabling the young adult shoppers - which I had supressed, so it must have been something else I was keeping this hack for, but stupid me simply cannot remember ...

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Snow gets stuck on not owned community lots
|
on: 2007 April 08, 09:29:52
|
I have now already two NOT OWNED community lots that got stuck with snow (after they had been visited by a sim in winter). There is now snow there even when the visiting sims come from a home lot on an extremely hot midsummer day (which is shown correctly in the seasons bar of the community lot), and the snow does not disappear even when they stay for hours. If the lot is moved to the house bin, it is shown snowy too. I always thought not owned community lots are totally reset when leaving?
a) Anyone made a similar observation? (I am talking about NOT OWNED lots, I know about the problem with owned community lots) b) Any ideas of what is the cause and how it can be repaired besides from replacing the lot with the original one?

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Seasons outdoor clothing change: Automatic or not, that is the question?!

Seems to be like that! Sims A started to change automatically again in the morning of day 3 (first day of spring, everything green, trees awakened). So landsscape optic does not strictly correlate with temperature. I will see what happens during the day. Only strange thing is that the Sims personal thermometer scale on this spring morning is higher up than during noon on the last winterday when they did not change clothes... Besides: You might think me quite stupid - but can YOU get the absolute temperature readings during playing? Or do the given numbers all come from code analyzing? I would be thankful for another helpful answer! Iīll be back in tomorrow, as it is allready VERY late over here...

Dizzy: Iīm learning more and more astonishing things (though I do not yet understand all of that) ... I will take a look at it as soon I have quit the game. Thanks.
katenigma: Concerning A:There still was a lot of snow around, although it was (slowly) getting milder. B has now arrived on day 5 in midspring and his Sims have stopped changing clothes sometime around noon, but started again in the evening. Interesting ... if this were meant to be (it would be quite realistic for the evenings to be colder), then for once EA would have done a good job. But then the winter Sims should have changed even more readily in the evening - so what?

Szenario: Two players (A+B), two PC, same room, both start playing after complete new installation (all EPs including Seasons, Glamour, no FFS), both have same custom content, both have NO hacks on. Both playing in new seasons neighbourhood the same premade household for testing, both start in winter. A: Day 1 automatic cloth change every time Sim is leaving/entering house. On day 2 suddenly automatic cloth change disappears and cannot be provoced again. Sims walk out in hard winter in indoor clothes, and it takes them ages for feeling cold (one Sim being fishing for hours was still in the normal green temperature range). B: Automatic cloth change still active on day 4. Player wanted to make them go out in everydayclothes, since he now arrived in spring (and sometimes the Sims get very hot when active in oudoorclothes). No chance, they still change dress automatically. Discussions on differences in tested actions between both players brought no results. There were no differences except a slightly different timing of actions. Observations and explanations welcome!

Are you able to to right click on the file, select open or open with, and then choose WinRAR frmo the list? If so you should be able to check the use this program every time box and have it recognized from then on. Odd that it is unrecognized!
Definitely unrecognized - with rightclick as well as when trying to unpack after opening winRAR (allready verified by a second tester). Error notice by WinRAR: " Unknown format or corrupted file". PS: WinRAR is German version. Perhaps 7z is only recognized by english WinRAR versions? EDIT: Problem solved. Found 7Zip and downloaded - all files properly unzipped . Thanks for helping!

Jordi: Thanks for your help! So my problem seems to be that I cannot get at the empty templates yet (except your upload of the pets template, which works perfectly for me). SaraMK: When I come upon a file I do not know I usually test if anything on my PC will open it - and I am very familiar with .rar and .zip files. But .7z is unknown to me, and my WinRAR simply does not recognize this format (keeps telling me its an empty file). So I need your help how to set on this problem! Besides - I read ALL instructions VERY carefully (and yours are very precise - thanks for the great amount of work you put into this project - and would even help a complete dummy to do it right - which I am definitely not), but as I cannot get at the empty templates, I have not even arrived at the point of deleting anything in the characters folder ...

Thanks to these wonderful instructions I do not have problems with creating a clean NBH but after carefully reading through all posts, I just want to clear things a final time for myself concerning custom Campus-subNBHs. If I understood correctly there is - at the present time - no way to get a clean Campus? Empty templates do not work according to JMP (besides - the link seem to be broken, there is only an unusable .7z file there) and renaming the U001 file does not work either (at least for me, I tried several times and each time 97 characters were created). No other way out?

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / household of 8 sims - no more breeding?
|
on: 2006 December 04, 11:29:34
|
I have 2 households with 8 sims and 2 cats (male/female). Both households were each one time hit by the pregnant animal bug before I got the new version of Pinheads/Syberspunks "move in". The option to have the animals mate has suddenly disappeared. The last time I noticed the option was before the sixth sim moved in and then two of the women got pregnant (making the 8 full), but I cannot tell just the exact point when it disappeared, since I only noticed some time later. Also the "is master" symbol has disappeared from all animals who allready had masters (itīs still in the animalīs memories whoīs their master). As I understood, the game should allow up to 12 sims a/o animals on the lot (with a maximum of 6 animals). Then why is there no more breeding possibility? Or is my information on numbers wrong? Is this a bug or just one more of EA games (non-)features?

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Some more questions on the pregnant animal bug
|
on: 2006 November 29, 12:03:52
|
Read of the pregnant animal bug but did not yet see it happen. Then arranged for a marriage party, but the bride (living at another lot at that time) was not willing due to the bug (got the notice). Moved her in with Tombstone of L&D (read that too when I read about possibilities to get around the bug, I rarely use the in-game modder so did not know this feature before). She was added to the family but had only 5 want slots and 1 lock (before that she was a graduated fully grown up sim living in the NBH) Added 6th slot and second lock with TwoJeffs Uniadjuster. Next time I entered the lot I noticed she did not age anymore (Feature of using the Tombstone? - I donīt know as I am lacking the experience). Solved this problem by having her move out, brought her to another lot, invited her and asked her to move in again (no pregnant animal then ..) But since then she has 6 want locks.... Ended up confused. Next time, another lot, other sims, similar situation (I HAD to know if this bug is consistant...). This time saved the lot with the party which had already started, moved the bride out from her own home lot and added her to her new family from externally. This spoiled the party which was broken, but got me around the bug without further problems. So now what really is the best way to get around that bug? And is not aging anymore a known feature of the movein with the Tombstone of L&D?

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: FFS Lot debugger - no preuni upgrade?
|
on: 2006 November 29, 11:28:04

Thanks! In the meantime I DID solve the problem by using TwoJeffs college adjuster just to add the slots and the locks, but thatīs not the same as your elegant upgrading which also took care of the "choose a major" problem. In fact I donīt know how, but for me the FFS upgrading DID work when moving in a NPstudent during OFB-times (I just had her moved in shortly prior installing the EP). EDIT: Well, I may be wrong on that aspect. I attributed it to the awsomeness of the FFS debugger but I am not sure what really happened - my sim proposed to her during a date on his lot and to my astonishment she was moved in at that very instant and upgraded automatically. I just never before had this situation and could not think of anything having caused it except that it was a hack feature ...
An update by YOU would be appreciated strongly!

More news on the cat. She is now in her new family, but still showing the runaway sign. She can be interacted with on the lot like any other pet. But she does not show up on the phone list when inviting the family to another household. I suppose some marker / attribute has not been removed / reset properly. I tried to check with SimPE as soon as the PETS version was out, but could not spot the error (In fact did not expect to, my knowledge of persons object files is just too basic for that). Thereīs some new stuff in the objects raw data which is set to different numbers with different animals. But I do not yet understand what those settings mean. Can anyone help me to find out whereīs the correct spot to look for and possibly correct the error?

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: buy a karaoke machine want
|

It IS definitely a new bug since PETS - had it yesterday, could be reproduced repeatedly. The want to get a karaoke machine IS NOT satisfied by buying on. Very annoyable when your Sim keeps whishing it all the time ... Hoping for some awsome hack. By the way - I thought TwoJeffs "Buy Object Min Cost Want Hack" should fix that problem, but the hack does not seem to work anymore since PETS, all those costly wishes are back again (hack worked perfectly with OFB and I loved it)

Similar problem: postman as unimascot, streakers clothed. Only cloth-affecting hacks I have: Twojeffs visitor controller (that surely ist clean) and Shaklins painting that allows changes of NPcharacters clothes. Strongly suspect the culprit is the latter. Did not remove it yet, just change these guys back from time to time to correct clothing with Shaklins tool (if it really causes this problem, it is at least also helpful to repair it). Just wanted to let you know - perhaps this information helps you to find your special culprit...

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Bug report - run away animal
|
on: 2006 November 07, 11:45:54
|
Cat was attacked by the tomcat just after moving in - ran away. Was reported lost immediately and reported found after 2 days. "Shall I bring back your animal" - "yes". Finder Sim appeared, but not cat, no interaction concerning the cat possible. Cat still showed as missing, but her needs started to drop rapidly from that point on. No way to retrive cat(errorall, leaving lot, boolpropping ecg....). After two further days cat close to dying ... By chance at that time a sim moved out of the house - cat appeared in the menue to be taken with. That saved the cat, but on the new lot the sim moved to (+cat) the cat was still shown with the runaway symbol, though she was present on the lot. Could not be given to the adoption center - option was missing on the phone.
Could someone take a closer look a this bug? All my FFS/TwoJeffs hacks have been updated last oct30th.
(To those 7 who already read this post: Edited first version removing a stupidity of mine ...)

Ye Olde Simmes 2 Archives: Dead Creators / Ye Olde Syberspunke Archives / Re: Testers Wanted: Assign Be DJ Teen Fix

Little nitwit has tried to be less dumb and has learned lately to understand a bit about object bhavs and even to mod them slightly to needs and preferences with SimPE. I am not the programming type and I donīt understand much about programmers language - up to now I managed to analyze objects by the simple logical approach.
Where I definitely got stuck are text lists. I can work simple things forward (like getting animations, editing pie menues, modifying dialogue), but I have not found a way how to backtrace an existing textlist to what it is refering to (I wanted to do that to get more understanding about how some maxis objects work). I have looked for a special "text-list-tutorial", but drawn a blank up to now. (In this special case of the DJ-stand I had an idea of WHAT I was looking for, but I did not find the correct location)
I know you are far beyond my minor realms - but perhaps you can help me just by giving a hint where I could get more information to tackle that problem?

Thanks to akatonbo for having mercy on a poor non english speaker! Last report 1) I found 2 dangling SWAF (the last 2 on my SimPE list) and deleted them. One of these even contained 7 (!) wishes. So the case seems proven - dangling SWAF CAN happen without DAC solely due to ingame bugs. (The lot in the bugged adoption case most probably would have been lost without using Pescados debugger). 2) Finally found the option in the INSIM aspiration adjuster (used INSIM OBJ edition). Itīs "Reset Panel". All 3 kids are back to 4 slots and 1 lock and ageappropriate no LTWīs. I have to apologize myself to the INSIM. I would not use INSIM regularily due to my way of playing the game, but it IS a well designed tool. I thank everyone who popped in and helped me in solving the puzzle and (hopefully) restore my relatively new neighborhood to normal. Iīve learned a thing about terminology and more about the usefulness of SimPE! NB: Also found a lot of Unknown to Unknown relationships. Where were these derived off?
