1  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Resource.cfg? on: 2010 June 10, 20:01:08
Just use Delphy's Framework Installer from MTS.

I did, that's where I got the files from, and since my post I've messed it all up and it won't load past the loadingscreen, so, I'm gonna have to uninstall and give it another try ^^
Like I said, I tried to follow the instructions, but my impatience must have gotten the best of me and I've missed something.

Edit: Oh yeah, and thanks to both of you ^^
2  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Resource.cfg? on: 2010 June 10, 18:47:31
I'm downloading AwesomeMod for the first time and I've tried to follow the install instructions as best I can, but I'm stuck...
In the walkthrough it said to but the resource.cfg in the Sims 3 directory but when I downloaded the Framework installer it had two resource.cfg files, one "resource.cfg.new" and "resource.cfg.original" (don't worry, I know to delete the "new" or "original" off the end of the file name or it wont work) but I don't know which one I'm supposed to use... I only have the base game and WA atm (if that helps).

Sorry, and thanks.

Oops, thought it looked a bit funny  Roll Eyes

I know I could just not do it that way, but it's how I want to play. And I just thought there'd be no harm in asking.
I'm not going for realism, just a way for my sims to be different from each other, without me deciding who will be a winner or a looser.

@Marvin: Thanks! This works great! ^^
5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No more skilling, please! on: 2009 December 23, 21:17:55
Ok, don't worry, I wont complain about being insulted any more.
I did some proper lurking and see no one escapes...

So, anyway, back on topic -

Someone asked earlier why I want this hack. I want it because the way I'm playing at the moment is that I randomise their skills as soon as I can (toddler).
I've done it like that so that Turn ons and offs will actually mean something, I wont have like nine Mayors and 13 Captain Heroes and not everyone will pass Uni, Sims will just have to take the skills they were given.

I know I could just "not use any skill items" like I said in the first post, but that means I cant have anyone be a painter for a living, or like I have this one guy who had a robotics shop, but now I have the "no skilling" rule he cant make any more robots or he'll earn skills :/

I would try and do it myself but I've tried tutorials and It's all to complicated for me! So maybe someone could look at this like a request?

Sure, we COULD have.  But in case you haven't noticed yet, this is MATY.  FFS, our motto is MOAR FIGHT.  How many times do we have to tell you WE DON'T DO THINGS THE NICE WAY HERE?
Well, I know that now, don't I. But I didn't before. I just thought it was like any other forum where your supposed to be nice or get kicked out.

There's no "just because" to it.  IT IS A FORUM RULE.  It's the same as if you were to, say, walk into my house and start smearing feces on the wall or kick my dog. I would justifiably beat your ass if you did that.  And that's basically what you did here by refusing to follow our rule that proper English is required on our forum.
No one actually said it was a rule, just something that was preferred.
And no, it's nothing like that.

Yes, you did.
I expected nothing less from you guys.
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No more skilling, please! on: 2009 December 19, 16:27:57
MATY: We'll be happy to help you, but you need to understand that one of the rules of this forum is that we require all posters to utilize proper grammar

actually, if someone had said something like this, instead of insulting me and calling me names, i would have been happy to add capitals and make sure i use the proper punctuation, but they didn't. "we would be happy to help you" wasn't what i got from "retarded jerk idiot"

on the first post, you guys could have just said "Hey, grammar is kind of important here. Next time, could you be a bit more careful with your spelling?" or even "Hey. Here everyone has to use proper grammar. It's a rule." instead of "Oi idiot. I felt like correcting you for no reason. You did this, this and this wrong. Bye." which, to me, is how it seemed because no one told me i had to use proper grammar, and then you started to demand it from me.

Now, I'm a very stubborn person. The fact that you wanted me to do this "just because" made me angry.

But, I know that if If I ever want any real help from this site (As it's probably the best place for help)
I'm going to have to comply.
But I'm not going to say sorry. I didn't deserve to be insulted the way I was.
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No more skilling, please! on: 2009 December 19, 15:39:14
ok. from my point of view, this is how it seemed (in short) -

me: hey can i have some help?
you guys: i'm gonna correct you because your stupid
me: didn't know this was a spelling test
you guys: look at the calendar, because even though your new i expect you to know about it
you guys 2: i win because you don't use capitals
me: i don't understand why people are bugging me about grammar on a help forum
you guys: it's grammar day, a made up holiday that were gonna force on you even though all you wanted was help
you guys 2: now say sorry to us even though you didn't do anything
me: i didn't know about grammar day, you don't have to be so rude, i'm not going to say sorry
you guys: oh yeah, well your retarded
you guys 2: and a jerk
me: so i'm a retarded jerk now just because you cant get your own way
you guys: yeah, i treat everyone like crap and think its acceptable
you guys 2: you have to do whatever we say because you just have to because it's not like this is just a forum and i'm not a complete ass
me: um... ok... yeah, you are, but i'm not gonna say that because i have manners. and i like to spell like this
you guys: no it's too hard to read, well, not really we're just saying that because we cant get our own way
you guys 2: just gonna carry on name calling because it makes us look *soooo smart* and not pathetic or petty at all
me: all i wanted was some help, not to be harassed
you guys: what are you arguing for, we're obviously right! act like a guest and do what your told
you guys 2: yeah, retard
me: maybe if you weren't such asses about it i would have done what you wanted
you guys: your a retarded liar and i'm gonna take the piss out of you now.
me: i just don't want to be treated like shit for no reason.

and then you say no one was rude to me?
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No more skilling, please! on: 2009 December 19, 14:59:18
i wasn't expecting "super sweet and nice" just not rudeness.
and no, i haven't changed because that would be a sign of respect, which i've already said, i only give to those who give it to me.

i'm not a "dirty" liar. i would have changed it if i wasn't insulted first.
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No more skilling, please! on: 2009 December 19, 14:33:24
well, if she had come in and explained to me that it was "grammar day" and then pointed out my faults, instead of writing it like an insult, i wouldn't have acted this way, i would have put abit of effort into it. but i thought she was just being rude to me for no reason, so obviously i got offended, and when i tried to stand up for myself, people started resorting to petty name calling. i don't see how im in the wrong here. like you said, i'm a guest and if you'd treated me like one, i would have acted like one.
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No more skilling, please! on: 2009 December 18, 23:44:22
it's what i've been saying all along...
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No more skilling, please! on: 2009 December 18, 23:32:19
i get that - i don't want to take part in grammar day, and get called a retarded jerk for it.
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No more skilling, please! on: 2009 December 18, 23:08:46
more difficult to read?? it's just as easy to read, you just don't like it because i'm not doing what you want.

and how is having an opinion retarded? i like lower caps, so what?
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No more skilling, please! on: 2009 December 18, 22:55:12
why? that's like a catholic girl talking her muslim boyfriend to church, and then the priest comes over and slaps him for not celebrating christmas

and i don't use the shift key, because i prefer the look of lower case, i don't care if it's not proper grammar, i think it looks nicer

- and, as far as i'm concerned, you are that kind of person if you think it's ok to treat strangers like crap, because that was the kinda person i was referring to. and although i've not been to respectful here, that's because i don't respect people who don't respect me.
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No more skilling, please! on: 2009 December 18, 22:48:55
ok, i see now... that's the kinda person you are...
and no, i'm not.
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No more skilling, please! on: 2009 December 18, 22:35:53
well, i didn't know about "the whole package" i didn't know you had a stupid little calendar. i don't see how i'm acting like a jerk? i just wanted to ask a question, and i get all this.
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No more skilling, please! on: 2009 December 18, 22:33:24
oh, so i'm acting like a disabled 6 year old because i don't want to be harassed by someone i don't know over spelling? for all you know i could be disabled or slow and you think it's ok to say things like that to people you don't know. that's mature.
and what do you mean "we"? if you don't wanna help people who don't double check there posts that's fine, but most people don't care, and would help anyway.

18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No more skilling, please! on: 2009 December 18, 21:57:42
i don't really care about your stupid little website holidays or whatever and i will type how i want, and if i make afew mistakes, so what? dosn't bother me
i joined for some sims help, and so far 1 person has tryed to help.

if i was bothered about "grammar day" i'd say sorry. but i'm not, so i wont. and i'm not going to start typing with capitals, making sure if i'm using the right "there/their" or any thing else like that for you
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No more skilling, please! on: 2009 December 18, 21:19:36
... i'm sorry, i wasn't aware this was a spelling test...

DUDE, LOOK AT THE FUCKING CALENDAR.

i don't understand... ? what about it?
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No more skilling, please! on: 2009 December 18, 21:17:35
ok, why does it matter how i type? i'm just typing how i'd speak in real life. and i mean, it's not like i'm typing in text chat or whatever it's called, and you can understand what i'm saying, right? and as for capitals... why bother? it's not like it changes the sound if a word, so it shouldn't make a difference
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No more skilling, please! on: 2009 December 18, 20:43:54

Ok, so there are mods to enable Skilling on Community lots, but is there one to disable Skilling on Residential lots?

In my game, the rule is, you get what your given - i randomise there skills at birth, and i want there skills to stay like that throughout life. but this means they can't do certain things like paint or swim or play chess because this will break my rule. i know i could just not buy those items, but then i've got to think about enthusiasm aswell - like, if someones predestined hobby is cooking - everything cooking related gives skills! (atleast, until you get afew enthusiasm points, then you can just blog it or someyhing, but still!)

so, has someone made anything like this? or maybe one of you might give it a go?
