1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.24 borks WA - anyone else having this? on: 2011 September 04, 11:16:39
After some experimentation, deleting TravelDB.package and the world package files in your save game looks like a fix to the stalled progress bar problem. That also resets all opportunities and tombs, though.
2  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Patch 1.24 borks WA - anyone else having this? on: 2011 September 03, 22:57:09
I've recently a) upgraded to base game patch 1.24, and b) started a new game with the compatible version of AwesomeMod and Twallan's Master Controller. World Adventures appears to be seriously borked - not at first, but eventually I've got to the point in both France and China where I'll go to the adventure board and look for a new adventure, my Sim will do the scanning the board for stuff animation, and then nothing happens. Occasionally I'll get one of the rubbish "go and fetch me 5 frogs" adventures, but never anything serious.

I can bypass this by triggering an adventure opportunity via Twallan's Master Controller, and that works as long as I stay in the same foreign location, but as soon as I get an opportunity that requires me to travel elsewhere, travel home, then travel to that second location, the opportunity vanishes as soon as I arrive.

Egypt has so far avoided any of these problems, but it's now doing something I had in a previous game: I'll travel abroad, the progress bar moves at expected speed, until it stalls at about 98-98%, even if I do a fixall, destroyallnpcs, destroyalltownies first. I think I managed to fix this previously with therapture, but I'm not sure. I'm happy to do some more testing if that would help.

I've found other issues with pathfinding - Sims find it impossible to go from one arbitrary point in a tomb to another arbitrary point if their normal path would take them through an arch or, particularly, over what's left of a now-cleared rubble pile - but that's merely annoying rather than game-breaking.

Is anyone else having anything like these problems?
3  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: You cannot enter Edit Town when a Sim in your household is dying on: 2011 July 23, 11:49:20
After some experimentation, it appears that having my Sim die normally results in the Grim Reaper turning up as normal, but after my Sim dives into their tombstone, the Grim Reaper tries to go through the whole scythe business again. Now-ghost Sim reappears curled into a ball, but nothing happens. Nuking both the grim reaper and the sim solves the problem, and lets me Edit town again. (I might have had to do killallnpcs first.)

And that's fine; I'll just wait until the old man has to die, and I'll do without editing town for now.

I'm getting the error as per subject heading when I try to Edit Town. I suspect this has something to do with an Unlucky Sim of mine dying after trying to upgrade a food replicator, and then the Grim Reaper not turning up. I ended up doing a resetsim on said Sim, and didn't think twice about any of this until many, many days later.

I've since done fixall, and resetsim on all members of the household, to no avail.

I'm running TS3 6.4.5.011031 + WA + AMB + LN + HELS with the latest version of AwesomeMod (well, latest as of a few days ago).

The NRaas supercontroller is silently failing if I try to query the neighbourhood.

This is my saved game

Any ideas?
5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sim fails to die, uncontrollable ghost stays in household, can't edit town on: 2010 July 28, 18:01:16
I downloaded the Master Controller, and although it was no help in killing off my controllable Sim, I did eventually manage to kill off an elderly colleague or three who I think were causing the null pointer exceptions and aborting the dying process part way through - so thanks :-).

I should note that fixall gave me a couple of flagrant system errors which may be of interest:

If the type of corruption with whichever one of her colleagues it was that was causing the problem is reasonably easily fixable, then maybe that could be rolled into a future version of AwesomeMod? It's not Tim Burre, it's one of the other two.
6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Sim fails to die, uncontrollable ghost stays in household, can't edit town FIXED on: 2010 July 27, 21:36:54
I've Googled around and not seen anything particularly useful, so I thought I'd ask here. This doesn't appear to be immediately caused by AwesomeMod (if I remove AwesomeMod I get the same behaviour), but I was hoping that it would be the sort of thing that an AwesomeMod cheat could cure.

So: a Sim of mine died of old age, and went through the process of the Grim Reaper turning up, everyone zerg swarming to the scene and crying, the Sim either shaking hands, on their knees, or getting scythed, and then at the point where the Sim dives into the urn, it glitches and reverts back to where it was standing. The grim reaper heads off, everyone mourns, the Sim stays in the list of household member icons at the left-hand side of the screen, but otherwise stays where it is, and keeps its stuff. (It'll go to work, but no revenue from the job comes in.) If I try to edit town, the game complains that a sim is currently dying. ResetSim on the sim resets want bars (not that I can really tell, but the background colour of the ghost's icon changes), but otherwise does nothing. fixall gives me a couple of flagrant errors to do with null pointers where object expected when cleaning up coworkers - I'm assuming this is when it tries to remove the dead Sim from its previous coworkers' list of coworkers.

Here's a save before the Sim dies (I think the sim will die something like 20 minutes after you load the save), and here's a save from afterwards.

I wonder if this is anything to do with one of the Sims in the household being in the ghost hunter profession? Turning on moveobjects and deleting the urn doesn't do anything useful.

Anyway, could anyone please suggest additional fixes I could try, or workarounds?
