1  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: What needs to go where to make AM work on: 2012 September 19, 02:10:07
I think I know where I jacked up the old framework. I'm going to go see if my theory is correct. That said, the new framework hates my Mac, so no joy there. I really don't think it's AM. I blame EA. Sleeping on it may have helped - we'll see.

Fingers crossed!

I was too, but the last EA (or AM patch, but I suspect EA just because of the festival of stupid over there) patch did something and AM stopped working (I only noticed because I finally had a cook sim whose books started to become magic scrolls again). I had changed nothing at that point. Being unable to get anything to work, I scrapped everything and reinstalled, and now now matter how I try to do it (and believe me, I think I've tried just about everything) I cannot get AM to run. I'm not a noob to this so clearly, I need to take a nap and try again. But why would it stop working on its own?

Still working on it but I'm wondering if EA borked something somewhere.

This could be an EA bug in my game, but suddenly sims cannot use the elevators in public buildings in Bridgeport (meaning the lounges/bars). House elevators work just fine.

Hmm. No. I'll give that a try.

Interesting problem I can't seem to find a common denominator to. Random children sent to boarding school both a) don't go and b) can't go to regular school. You can still control them in-game, but they never go to school. At first I thought I was because I tried to send two on the same day, but on one occasion splitting them up and trying to do one one day and the other after the first one had left, I discovered it's one specific sim that won't go. Not sure what this is tied to but it's happened to me twice now.

Also, using newest AM and EA patches.

I have made an update. Suffice it to say that the nature of the particular bug in question leaves little doubt that this is some kind of sabotage, since the issue was apparently located inside the EAxian SPYWARE. BE WARNED! LOCK YOUR FIREWALLS.

WFT?? Assholes.

Yes. AM is the only non EA content I have.

Updated to the latest patch dated Sept 1 2012 4:07:08 am and discovered the exact problem with the books. The only two that don't work are horror and poetry. The author can sit down at the laptop and start any other novel.

I  have a weird one.

I've been playing this game for a few hours, and suddenly when I send my author to write at the computer it "pushes him off". On an outside wall, it shoves him outside; on an inside wall, it shoves him across the room.

I have never seen this before and don't know why it's happening now. Could be a bug in my game but I thought I'd throw it out there .

Which patch version of the game are you using, and which version of AwesomeMod??  For AwesomeMod, please give the time date stamp of the awesome.package file

Ah, I am full of fail. I see there's a newer one out there. Going back to see if it fixes the problem.

In the bug thread it's been mentioned that it might be tattoos that are the problem. There's a new patch out, I'm going to see if that works tonight.

I got this DEP issue on priority list along with inventory.  I was on EA chat with Gavin and Microsoft for 3 hours.  I even threatened to hack SIMS 3 to make it compatible to Win 7 64 Bit.  You need to hack game to make it compatible.

What compatibility issue with Windows 7 64-Bit?  You make it sound like the game is actually unplayable on this OS.  I had CTD's with TS2 and Windows XP, did that mean they were also incompatible?

I haven't had a CTD for several weeks now, so does this mean it is or isn't compatible.

If the game was truly incompatible as yo claim, it either wouldn't run at all, or would CTD on a regular basis.

I have a Mac, and I'm getting similar CTD's. So no, I don't think it's Windows. I'd love to figure it out, though, because this game is crap without AM.

Ugh. I got sucked into this too. *shakes fist at EA*

Fuckers.

Oh, my God. This is hilarious. I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Oh, you're right! I forgot about listhomeless. I'll give that a try. Thanks!
17  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 December 30, 06:02:25
Slap me with a trout if I'm being a 'tard, here, but I have a sim that I kicked out of my main house, who I originally thought may have left the neighborhood because she never showed up in a house anywhere (to her detriment, she only got about 2 grand when she left, so she could not afford property). She called her twin (who kicked her out originally!) so she apparently exists somewhere in the ether. Now she has a partner, Artie, but still they have no house in the 'hood that I can find.

So, my question is this:  is she paired up and homeless? I've only kicked out a sim once before since installing AM and that sim moved in next door on her own (of course, she had more cash at the time).

I guess I didn't know they'd do that. If in fact that's what happened, I find it really funny. Also, if I'm so inclined, is there a way to find her and move her into a house, or is she perpetually lost in space? Just curious.

Oh, I'm totally getting in on that. I do not like my game with no Awesome. I didn't realize how much nicer it make things until I took the last EA batch and borked it.
19  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Frozen Sims? on: 2009 December 07, 20:47:26
I always blame EA first for shit like this. I saw when they did the PC patch that TONS of people were having issues with it, so I didn't download the Mac version for a few days after it came out to see if the problems would be the same.

So far, it seems to be working for me, or at least I haven't noticed anything weird. I have no cc though, only stuff from the Sims store and the exchange.
