I have finally figured out my problem and gotten rid of the remnants of my arr'd WA in order to update my legal S3 base game.  Now, I do not even want to put another copy of the arr'd WA on my computer.  The only custom content that shows up is the stuff I purchased from the store after I went back and redownloaded from the site and some patterns that were not TSR.  None of my TSR stuff or for that matter any other site's stuff has shown up that were in Sims 3 format.  I had removed my CC in .package format and will now try to work that back into my base game per above instructions.  This is chicken s_ _t.  I am so done with EA. I will not get involved with anymore Sims series after S3. Angry

Tongue Smokeverbs I do believe I have the same problem as you do as my computer refuses to completely uninstall my arr'd version of WA.  I cannot reinstall WA nor delete all of it.  It only uninstalled to a certain part and then it stopped and I do believe EA set this up to impede pirating of it's software and store articles.  If there is an answer to this please help us!  Lord, I can't believe I did this to myself.

Undecided  Er, if I have an arr'd WA and I get "invalid file found" when trying to patch game from official site or using the patch files from here, what file is that notification referring to and how do I change it?  BTW, THANK YOU MATY for all you do to help us lame folks.

To:  Knight Guy

Thank you very much.  I have downloaded Awesomemod and it is indeed awesome.  I never really understood it before, never really cared about mods before,  but now I feel only a sim god could have created this wonderful program (application ?).  I have to learn how to install and use it but it looks like a winner!  Again, thank you. Kiss

I have a legit copy of S3.  I was too scared to use an arr'd version for the base game.  I was able to arr' WA without any problems from  a Portuguese site via bit torrent and burn to disc.  I followed the instructions and was able to start the game.  However, I could not actually play and the error message was "disc authentication verification" and to contact EA support services.    I downloaded and ran "Rookit Revealer" as suggested in another thread here at MATY and sure enough it located the indicated files and supposedly removed them.  Well, we know that I can't contact EA support so I was a wondering if anyone can tell me a way around this problem. Undecided  I will be eternally grateful at least in this lifetime for the help/advice.  Remember, I am  a slow newbie.
