This patch exists, but it does nothing of value. All it does is linking the launcher to Origin, making it impossible to bybass and play with a NoCD mod or FPS limiter. Do NOT want. http://sims3.crinrict.com/en/2015/11/patch-1-69.html
2  Awesomeware / Armoire of Invincibility / Re: TOOL: 3Booter, the Incooperative Game Kicker on: 2016 May 13, 00:18:50
The last patch doesn't do anything other than connect the launcher to Origin. There is no fix or anything you would miss if you didn't get it. And it's easy enough to roll back to 1.67 and have the 3Booter working as usual.
3  Awesomeware / Armoire of Invincibility / Re: TOOL: 3Booter, the Incooperative Game Kicker on: 2016 May 11, 22:08:40
Origin isn't the only thing here that's stupid. Why in the world would you want to start the game through Origin? Don't do that.

Can someone (re)post the Business as Usual Bistro? sethsoul's links actually leads to The Coffee Bean Hipster Loft set.

Not true. I downloaded the set from the mediafire link and it shows up just fine. Mega link has at least the correct file name. Maybe you're confused because the Hipster thing is called "Industrial Loft" and the Bistro is called "Industrial kitchen"?

Get Crash Log Analyzer, read and follow instructions, then try again. It will most likely tell you what causes the CTD and how to fix it.

It came up with nothing, should have added that I tried that.
Ah yes, it was worth a try, though.

I just remembered something on crinrict's blog about buy/build mode issues with saving. The description fits your problem, but the post is only available in German.

This seems to be related to weather effects. The most simple solution calls for removing the christmas lights before changing things.

If this doesn't work, try turning the weather effects off, make changes, save, turn them back on and you're good to go.

Should this fail, there is version 3: save the house to the bin. After that, bulldoze the lot and remove the grid. Place a new grid and put the house back. Then make the desired changes and save.

That's all I could find about this particular problem.

Hence why? Really? There's no excuse for that one.

Do the random sims that get zombified turn back?  I have an investigator quest that I can't finish because the person I report to turned into a zombie.
They probably should turn back. I haven't seen zombified sims stay zombies for longer than a full moon night. Maybe you can try to heal this sim with a potion or a spell? Worked for that sim my witch turned into a frog while playing around with magic.

@coltraz: I use Firefox, too. No problems downloading jezzer's or anybody else's files. Did you update Firefox and its add-ons recently? If not, do that and see if it helps.

Anybody success installing Supernatural FLT?

Yes. Don't use the crack and you should be fine.
12  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod breaks Sims 3 upon installation? on: 2009 December 22, 08:38:40
So what is new?  Everyday on here is Grammar Day.

No, only on GRAMMAR DAY you can get an award for correcting someone's grammar. Or you suck and get the "Rainbow of Suck". That's the difference.
13  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: How to Completely Remove AwesomeMod? on: 2009 December 18, 08:11:56
I guess I can understand that. My brain was working along the lines of 'if you don't know how to work it just don't bother'. If the OP gets frustrated with AM that easily I doubt they want to keep up with the constant updating so it may be best they just forget it for now. They even said 'I do understand that maybe I shouldn't have installed the mod in the first place' so I think AM was a little more than what they were looking for.

I know what you mean. Usually "my brain" works like that, too. I think all the Christmas songs are finally getting to me and making me way to mellow.
14  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: How to Completely Remove AwesomeMod? on: 2009 December 17, 16:33:56

redownload and re-install AwesomeMod[/b].

This is NOT how to completely remove awesomemod. I can't think of a worse way to remove it in fact.

Well, the OP stated that AM was expired and therefore wanted it gone because she didn't think about the option to simply get a new version. If she gets the latest AM and can install it properly there should be no reason to get rid of it. Unless she doesn't want to use it anymore. Granted, I didn't elaborate that in my post. Sorry to cause confusion.
15  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: How to Completely Remove AwesomeMod? on: 2009 December 17, 09:16:07
Oh my, may I suggest that coconnor adds a "How to remove AwesomeMod"-section to his thread? This may avoid other threads like this one.

On the other hand, it might not.

Bucketgurrl, your AwesomeMod has expired so you need to get a new version. It is still there where you downloaded it in the first place. Pescado updates it frequently. Clear your browser cache, and for good measure, your game cache, redownload and re-install AwesomeMod. How to do so is explained in the Sticky by coconnor.
16  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: could somebody please help me.. on: 2009 December 14, 13:04:25
Ah, but this provides enough deniability for me:
So basically, I'm not sure if it is because I haven't removed Awesome Mod properly

Perhaps Heatherkinz will return when she fixes this problem and regale us with the tale of how she solved it.

Hm, my bad, I didn't think that Framework could fuck up the game even after all cc is removed. Well, if that's really the case, removing Framework is surely a good approach. Of course, the caches should be cleared, too.
17  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: could somebody please help me.. on: 2009 December 14, 09:05:28
I'll grant you that I didn't read the entire OP, though.

Exactly. Because the OP stated that no cc, including AM, was installed, so Framework wouldn't be required at all. I think a clean re-install with backups is a good idea, too.
18  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Game will not start on: 2009 November 30, 05:56:17
how the bloody hell can you not read my bloody punctuation?! your so irritating! im feeling as though i need to smash my head into the desk and all you care about is punctuation?

First of all, I'm recommending anger management. And the feeling is mutual, I find you irritating as well. Now you even used question marks! That's progress! As I said, it's really hard to read (and then to care what it means) something without any signs of capitalization. Using it raises your chance to get the answer you need, because people can actually understand what you're saying. Your choice.
19  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Game will not start on: 2009 November 30, 05:27:16
So i read the post adn did as instructed guess what happens i go to load my game and boom it says unable to start game and it crashes doesnt even go to the loading screen or the sims3 plumbob fancy show.  i uninstalled both games and helper monkey and now im getting this error opening file for writing \game\bin\d3dxp_31.ll .  why would this be a problem and why the hell if everything is deleted that this still shows up! i searched for it 3 times and it says its not on my computer

So you're still refusing to use punctuation. It's hurting the eyes and I don't understand a word you're saying. So even if I wanted to help you, I really can't.

OFFICIAL 1.7.9/WA UPDATE

That's quoting the last post in the official AwesomeMod thread. Did you read that? It means you have to update your game either to the latest base game version OR getting WA and the latest patch to that. Other versions are incompatible.
Duh.
21  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Game will not start on: 2009 November 30, 01:09:29
Alrite everyone says to put it in the world adventures folder but illbe honest when i do everything doesnt show up the resource file is there and still doesnt show up its very annoying and id rather keep it in the base game files further more id like a help for dummies cause while i love to play computer games but when u talk with big words and some what complicated instructions my brain fries.

Well, not everyone says to put in in the WA files. Apparently, Our Fearless Leader said it worked for him in the base game folders. Try it, see what happens. It might work.
Another thing, unrelated to AM: please, please try to use punctuation! It's really hard to read and to get what you want to say. And I have to say that the explanation coconnor's given IS the one for dummies. I won't bother to give you another. Read it, more than once if necessary.
22  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Game will not start on: 2009 November 29, 04:30:49
I have tried all of the advice in this threat, but when it came to following the advice quoted by coconner on installing the files into the World Adventures root installation directory, I find that I don't HAVE any World Adventures folders, just those for the base game.

If you're playing with the latest patched base game, the files go there, of course. AwesomeMod should run fine anyway.

If the game crashes to desktop, is it possible that it occurs always around 1 o'clock in the morning (in-game time)? Then enabling AwesomeStory should really work, it did for me.

Oh look, the noobs who said it was flawed and it didn't work are all managing to get it to work when they READ AND FOLLOW DIRECTIONS. I'm proud of you all!
What makes your post particularly retarded is that, as 'noobs', we're deliberately avoiding the option for 'OR Framework (Advanced users only)' in the main Awesomemod download thread.  And that, apparently, is where one of the problems is to be found, because the InstallerMonkey isn't installing those extra files that are in the Framework package.

Of course, if you'd taken the time to actually read the thread, you'd have worked that out.  Instead you came by, with nothing to contribute, and took pot shots. Good on you.  You're won the I Have No Useful Skills So I'll Just Point And Laugh Award for today.

You do realise that this is MATY? It's what we do, we point and laugh! And some of you weren't exactly better than this, I remember things like "this mod is flawed because I can't get it to work"! And yes, as far as my stat count says, I'm a 'noob', too. But usually I lurk. Maybe you should do that, too. At least if you can't stand being sporked.

23  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Beta Testing 1.7.9/WA 2.2.8 Problems/Questions/Discussion on: 2009 November 26, 04:24:48
Hey there,

just downloaded the newest version and stumbled upon another thing. Same female teen as before perfected her handiness skill while on vacation in China. Now I can't access that skill directly from "skill view" anymore. Clicking on another skill and accessing handiness from there does work but gets me this:

btw, I finally understood how to assign the cars. So the active sim will be the owner when I click on the car. No menue needed. Sometimes I'm slow...but I got there.
24  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Beta Testing 1.7.9/WA 2.2.8 Problems/Questions/Discussion on: 2009 November 25, 21:30:13
JoshuasMama, it seeme to be a purely cosmetic bug. Travelling may fix it, or may not, but it doesn't have any actual effect on gameplay.

True, but I thought I'd mention it anyway. As it seems it's an Eaxis bug and not even related to AM, so no harm done. Wink
25  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Beta Testing 1.7.9/WA 2.2.8 Problems/Questions/Discussion on: 2009 November 25, 21:04:41
As my sims still refuse to use their incrediblly expensive car in favour of their motor bikes they brought home with them, I tried to assign them to cars. That didn't work and there wasn't even a menue to choose from. It doesn't matter which car. If I tell them to use it they do, but they can't "own" it.
To avoid that I removed the parking spots on the lot and put the cars in their inventories, so they have no other choice.

This is due to a change in ownership of cars from WA, not due to the Awesomemod.

Duh, that's just great. Thanks, Eaxis. Cry So I really have to do it the way I described? Or is there a way around that?

ETA: I remembered another thing. My female teenager had her lifetime want (is that the term, I'm not sure..?) "become a Renaissance-Sim" fulfilled. She went to China and once there, it reverted to no lifetime want at all, as if she never had one. After returning home, it appeared again, fulfilled as it should have been. Any ideas to that?

I can confirm that I've gotten this bug before installing AM, so it's an EA bug.

Well, thanks again...at least the want returned. But it's annoying nonetheless.
