1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Anach's Sims 3 Mods - Updated 10th July 2012 (1.36) on: 2012 November 02, 16:10:03
Anach, at this point, it would be understandable if you waited until after Season's is released and patched to update your mods. I for one do hope you will then have some time to do work on the updates. Cheers.

I found out what was causing AM to hang at the first loading screen and it was Anach's No Intro that was conflicting with AM. I know AM is in testing and Anach hasn't updated his mods yet, but maybe someone else might find this information useful.
3  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: CTD after 10 seconds of playing (Not on Loading screen) on: 2012 March 09, 05:17:44
I was using AM March 5 test file but it causes the game to hang on the first loading screen and there it remains until I control, alt, delete.  All my games are legitimate copies and updated to the latest patch. Have ST installed and all caches were deleted, several times.
4  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AM Noob - What am I doing wrong? on: 2012 February 09, 18:40:08
Is there any disadvantage to using the new method over the old method? Does one way make the game run slower/faster than the other way?

I didn't know you could still use the old method. But apparently since some here are using the old method, I assume it must still work.

I didn't realise the OP was using the mydocs method not the install directory method.

Isn't the install directory method outdated?

I"m not sure if the following explanation is related to masses gathering at a given point in town but i've had that problem occur a few times and noticed it seems to happen when running the game with this cheat set to false which is "restrictbuildbuyinbuildings". I usuallly set it to true once i'm finished with it but once in awhile I forget and have had that issue occur. Like I said,  I'm not sure it's related to the problem but I have taken note on a few occasions that the issue occured in the same session as using that cheat.

The thought of Anderson Cooper in my neighborhood iinstantly killed all motivation and desire for your world. But as they say, to each his own.

I completely agree with you Anach.
9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Broken Resource.cfg file on: 2010 August 14, 10:31:50
I tested it in game and it works with no apparent problems. But I would really like to know how to get it back to its original format in that it's not attached to any particular program for opening.
10  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Broken Resource.cfg file on: 2010 August 14, 01:53:51
The standard checkbox is greyed out. I can open the files with notepad, however, the file itself is set to always open with command prompt. I haven't tested it in game to see if it is broken or not in this situation.
11  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Broken Resource.cfg file on: 2010 August 14, 01:44:19
Thanks but that doesn't work. And since I don't know what program to set the resource file to always open with, i've tried setting it back to notepad but I don't get an option to use always open with. I've also tried using undo keyboard command and that doesn't work either.
12  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Broken Resource.cfg file on: 2010 August 14, 01:20:08
When opening the resource cfg file, I accidently forgot to unclick always open with notepad. So in my google quest to find how to undo that, I came across some instructions to always open with command prompt and being the tech noob that I am, I set to always open with CMD. Now I can't undo that and am in dire need of help from the pro's. Can anyone help please?

This functionality is built into awesomemod and can be done on the fly as needed.

Couild you elaborate please?
15  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Ambitions: What's borked on: 2010 June 16, 07:15:44
I think Ambitions broke my sims career histories!

Here's a short overview of what is going on....

First, I have Ambitions installed. Now, when I load my pre-Ambition saved games all my sims career histories are blank. For instance I have a sim I've been playing since last summer and he had many level ten careers in his history. They are all gone. I checked many sims in the town and all their career histories are also gone. I tried several pre-Ambition saved games and all of them are the same. The career histories are gone.

Now it gets a little complex. I had some pre-Ambition families in the library folder which had long career histories and when I put them in a new post-Ambitions town, all their career histories are intact.

Most of my pre-Ambitions saved towns were played with both awesome mod and story progression mod. I tried loading the pre-Ambition saved towns with and without those hacks and their career histories are still gone.

Since I cannot test any pre-Ambition saved games that were built without those hacks, I am wondering if someone who has any pre-Ambition saved towns, who also has Ambitions installed, who has sims with career histories and who built towns without those hacks can check and see if their sims still have their career histories or are they gone also?

I wonder if this is happening with all pre-Ambition saved towns or is it only happening with pre saved towns that used core mods.

The reason i want to know if its mod related is maybe the creators can fix that problem if its caused by their mods or perhaps they can fix it regardless of what the cause is. And if it is not mod related but Ambitions related, then perhaps EA can be made aware and will fix it in a patch.
16  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Pudding Factory is for downloads: put your lame requests & WCIFs here on: 2010 June 13, 23:20:49
I am looking for the creator of a hack that in it's original rar name is called ShowHiddenSkillsWA. This particular hack has most of the qualities that regular skills have in that it allows hidden skills to appear in the skills window, except the hidden skill icons are invisible. It also shows a progress bar over the sims head and the sims get wants to fulfill hidden skills. Also, the game notifies you when your sim levels up on whatever hidden skill they are working on.

Unfortunately this hack is now obsolete with the new expansion pack. I've been directed to other places in search of the creator of this hack which has turned up dead ends so far. Someone said to use Twallan's SC which I am using already and even though the SC is quite useful for many things, I do not like the SC version of hidden skills.

I am so used to playing the game with this hack, the game seems incomplete without it. So, if I can find the creator of this hidden skills hack, I could ask if they will update it for Ambitions. Better yet, if anyone here know's of a hack that acts just like the one described in the first paragraph, I would be interested in looking into it. Thanks.
17  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Fixes for the store castleset on: 2010 June 07, 01:07:37
Well, even though I bought the castle set from the store, I use the package/dbc file from here though none of that is in the game at the moment. I actually thought this hack was  the castle set modified, but now realize it is a mod to change certain characteristics of the castle set. So, the castle set wasn't in the game at the time the mod was.

Maybe thats what caused the problems? It seems unlikely though. But I guess there's only one way to find out and thats install the castle set and this hack in the game. I'll do that and will get back to you on this soon.

The Penningway Bookshelf also contains skill books.
19  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Fixes for the store castleset on: 2010 June 06, 15:36:57
This hack was breaking my game so I took it out and problems are solved.

What happened is it turned all the sims character windows semi transparent. Also it changed the lighting/coloring in game so for instance it was difficult to decipher among the colors of the sims need bars. The need bars that should have been yellow were instead a dark green, a few shades darker than the normal green bar.

Also when I was in map mode it was difficult to maneuver around the map in that the camera tilted in annoying directions when trying to focus on things. It also caused the camera to fly around the map at super speeds, which isn't bad except it made things somewhat difficult to control. I never actually tested it for the purpose it was made because of these problems.

Goddess, not sure if you found the floating manhole yet, but I found it again and its not near the gated lots. but rather near the high school in the farming zone.
21  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Springville on: 2010 April 02, 16:57:10
Sorry, didn't mean to interrupt your honeymoon lol! Congratulations and best wishes on getting married!

Now on to business. I've downloaded about 30 new worlds in the past week or so but I keep going back to Fargo. I like it but there are issues. For instance many of the new houses I put in the world sink into the lots. And when I delete some of those, the lots are left with jagged impressions. There are also many tears in the land and sidewalks and streets sinking into the ground as well. There was even a manhole floating in midair near where the corralled lots are.

Also, on the highest plateau there is a large lot and a small lot and thought to mention the small lot has the best view in game and thought to suggest making the small one a larger one, but not sure the difficulty or possibility involved in doing that.

Anyway, its a great world and most worth improving in my estimation of it. And i'm not the only one who thinks so. If you read the posts all over the create a world section of the sims 3 forum, people keep mentioning how they really like this world and also keep going back to it. That about sums it up for now.
22  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Springville on: 2010 March 30, 05:26:15
I too have been playing this world for a few days and am really liking it. Actually more than any new world so far. I'm checking this thread to see if perhaps you had any plans to revise this world in any way and apparently you do. I found some small flaws and possible pathing issues. If your interested, i'll make a check list and post it here and you can check it if you want. Thanks for your world and your time.

Btw, you can drag Riverview.sims3pack into decrapify and install it by launcher if you don't like to extract it into packages, it worked like a charm for me!

Pardon my noobishness, but what's the point of decrapifying a file if your keeping it as a .sims3pack and not converting it to a package file. Also if once you do decrapify the Riverview file as .sims3pack, do you leave the Riverview sims3pack in my documents folder and would that still show up in the launcher?
24  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / A Problem with Riverview on: 2010 March 28, 03:04:28
I've actually had this problem for awhile and have tried to fix it to no avail but when I use the Riverview world file acquired via the pudding factory and install it to C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\GameData\Shared\NonPackaged\Worlds folder it plays ok in game and everything appears to work right for the most part except for this problem.

All the sims in Riverview have names such as this; World/Riverview/Sims:Don World/Riverview/Sims:Lothario.
And all my lots have names such as this: World/Riverview/Lothario World/Riverview/Lothario World/Riverview/TheGranary
This doesn't happen if I install through the launcher but i'm trying not to use the launcher as much as possible.

And also for no apparent reason my lots after awhile turn all blue in Riverview, even the ones i've never played. So I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong or what I'm neglecting to do to resolve the matter. So far, I can't seem to find an answer on the board here that has worked to fix it.

So would anyone know of a fix for this problem?
