It was more or less a reminder to anyone, but I wasn't sure if your preparation process included decrapify of not. Of course then if you don't decrapify the lazy Mactard pirates will whine. Hey now, I use a mac, and I supply the raw files. Of course, I also decrapify using my windows install on parallels. The lack of technical intelligence of the vocal mac users just amplifies my opinion that macs shouldn't be widely used as a personal computer. Thanks for that, I lost all of the store items long time ago because I stopped playing the game :S, so I was trying to recover all of the store stuff back now that I have free time to play again. Just question, where's riverview Uploading now.

Is anyone maintaining a 4shared.com set of doanloads of converted Sim3Pack files? (IE converted to .packages and fixed). Not a big combined package but one that has them all seperatly (or is that no good?). The sort of thing I'm after is like MistyK's and angel0886Silent Dreamer's collections but of package files.
Yes I know I could learn how to do it myself but I'm not that awesome. Secondly I understand that some items have been fixed? That would be totally beyond me.
Once someone has pointed me in the right directions I will write one of my step by step guides to show others how to install them...
The reason I started my 4Shared in the first place was because there were too many forms of the package files floating around and I wanted clean files to do it myself. The reason for this? Half the package files were broken or made with old versions of the s3rc and had missing or broken items in them, such as counters or the fences. Since then, I've been decrapifying and installing sims3packs in the launcher anyway. It isn't particularly hard at all to decrapify using jfade's tools and it just makes more sense to manage them yourself rather than rely on someone else. Same goes for package files.

Your files are oddly labeled. Is there any way for anyone to know what you have without downloading them and looking inside? They're labeled with the same convention as the first post in this thread, where I originally started getting the files. Therefore, you can generally use that post to measure what is in the archive. Example: U13 is the 13th update. It is all of the items from the 13th month since Sims 3 has been out, which also happens to be this month. It also happens to be a partial month, since it isn't over yet. All files to the date on that 7zip are present from this month's updates. I have them separated by major sets and everything else, essentially the same as the main update post does. Starting with items from July 1 and on, I will have a U14 folder going and updated as I have time.

My firetruck keeps vanishing from the fire station. It's happened on a few different saves now, I go to a fire to put it out, my sim gets back in to drive back to the station, truck pulls up out the front of the station, and promptly vanishes into the ether. I can't find it anywhere, it's not in the inventory... is there a workaround at all to put in a new one?
This is actually an eaxian bug. The solution, if you want to call it one, that I found on the BBS was to just nuke and redrop the firestation. Alternatively, the only way you can buy the Woo Woo 400 is to have a sim actually own the fire station's lot, at which point it automagically becomes available in the buydebug catalog. You just go into edit town, then build/buy and select the fire station, then in the buy debug you can simply drop in a new Woo Woo. You don't need ownership of the property to do that. The fire engine is always available in the buydebug catalog regardless of ownership of the lot. You can even place one in home lots for kicks, though I don't think it functions as a standard vehicle (haven't tested).
I don't know what happens if you just get one that way, but the one you get to keep as fire chief functions like a normal vehicle, which annoys the hell out of me, so I usually detonate it and get rid of it. I think as fire chief you should get one of the vehicles that is used for the carpool rather than a fire engine, as fire chiefs usually have their own car, not their own fire engine. Mmm. I must have been blind then. I was poking around looking for it the other night when it happened to me and didn't find it. I'll poke around some more next time I have the game running though. I eventually just said fuck it and nuked/replaced the lot. I stand corrected.

I don't understand why people want untouched files now. Explain; as far as I knew, people preferred decrap versions and .package.
Are the untouched versions working with the launcher now?
Well, people are supplied with the untouched, they decrap and recompress it themselves and install. I prefer untouched because I can make them .package myself. And to answer your question, I don't think so(IIRC). The preference is to have untouched files so you know you're not getting one where, say, the counters in the Ultra Lounge Kitchen and Bath pack are broken from a previous version of s3rc. It is strongly suggested all over this site to decrapify the items yourself. It isn't particularly hard, and this way everyone knows that there is a clean version of the file available in the event something were to change again, or if they had to reinstall them for whatever reason x. Oh, and no, they don't work in the launcher without being decrapified first unless they belong to you.

Alright, most issues I was having are fixed now thanks to the latest AM. But the one that has me worried is the school rabbithole thing, so I am uploading my save and save related files. I am playing Ambitions, Twinbrook. I have only AM and store content. EXCEPT for a couple Edwardian and Victorian outfits. I have installed the WA Expantion and HELS. This save also contains the cars that are parked without stupid reason and nobody in them... I have tried starting a new game, but from the beginning, the school's a park. LINK: http://www.4shared.com/file/0k3ubx-R/Saves.htmlIf you'd have read the thread, instead of jumping in with more of the same, you'd notice that he doesn't have Ambitions installed yet. We all determined the school being a park an Ambitions only issue. Logical leap? Wait til he installs Ambitions to bitch about it! Actually, don't bitch at all, everyone else has done it enough.

Perhaps a silly question, but how does the game know if it is registered or not? Is there another file that gets downloaded or a change to an existing file which would let the game know if the user has registered his EP or not?
I imagine you have to log in on the launcher and/or from within the sims store. It is a nasty, and utterly pointless, piece of shit that EA decided to throw in to make sure we were paying attention.

I attempted to use Awesomemod with Ambitions installed... but the game doesn't detect the mod if it's in the My Documents>Electronic Arts>The Sims 3>Mods folder. If it's in the Program Files>Electronic Arts>Sims 3>Mods folder the game doesn't load.
It works when you have the directory right.

Before you start: Ensure that you have a copy of d3dx9_31.dll in the Game/Bin file of your base game as well as all your EPs and SPs. This is a'la MTS, I haven't tried messing with this.
I actually started the game up without that file anywhere after a functional test version of Awesomemod came out and discovered that you don't need the d3dx9_31.dll file anymore for core mods. AM is fully functioning without it.

I've been trying to find a solution all morning,
I highly doubt that. You think you're the first and only fucking idiot with this problem? It is well documented all over the place, and any half-arsed moron could have, and would have found the solution to the problem with a simple search.
