Question: Game patched up to the latest, and working fine. Many, many EA Store items, downloaded from here, installed and working perfectly. Recently downloaded some more Sets and they show in game, and work fine, but they don't show up on the launcher, which sucks because I want and need to delete some items form those sets that I didn't like. Any idea what that might be about? I haven't found the answer nowhere yet. Thanks.

Thanks, Captain Marie! It was so simple, I can't believe I was so silly. I think it worked. I tried it with some items, and it worked. Now, I'm gonna try it with the rest. And after that, I'm planning to dive into the game and play for as many hours as needed to become practically a zombie. So, I wanted to thank you first. Good bye real world!

I know, that's just what I'm saying. I did those steps, and it didn't work. I choose Decrapify, and it does not show on the list. I don't know why... I'm frustrated because it seems to be working for everyone else but me.

Someone mentioned somewhere in MATY before, that the Recompressor is not working for XP, right? Well, I can confirm that because I have XP. Then, I was told that instead of dragging and dropping files into Decrapify, I should right click on them, go to "open with" and then manually choose Decrapify then (I say manually because it won't, evidently, appear on the list, you need to search for it). For many people that worked. I learnt that from a friend who showed it to me. But for me it doesn't. Decrapify does not get on the list of applications. Why? How can I make it work?

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / EA Store stuff converted to package files?

I know the solution to this question may be somewhere else in this site, but please, before you wag your fingers at me, let me say that I've been reading around and I didn't find it, probably because this site is a bit of a complicated place for a non-native speaker. Finally, I got dizzy and too tired because, to me, reading in English requires a great effort.
Then I decided to ask you, because the answer might be simpler than I think, I hope, and then it would be the fastest solution, if someone could spare just two minutes to answer.
My problem is:
I downloaded a lot of EA Store Full Sets, from this site, and other sites. First time I installed them, I used the Launcher because I wanted to be able to delete some objects I did not like and wouldn't use, ever. But I fucked up my game when the EP came out. So, I've reinstalled the game and EP. Now, I don't want to have to spend hours again installing all the extra contents with the Launcher and spend even more hours deleting the things I don't want.
Stupid Launcher has this great problem, among others: everytime you need, for any reason, to re-install your game, you have to re-install all your extra and custom contents.
One easy way to install them is undoing the Simpack files into ordinary Package files with Delphy's tool and pasting them in the Mods folder... But, if I do it that way, I won't be able to delete certain objects, because the of file names. Is impossible to know what file is what.
So, is there a way to install this EA Store Full Set Simpack files without using the Launcher, but still being able to delete what you want to delete...?? Or... is there a tool that lets you know what is inside a package file, so that combined with Delphy's Sims3Pack Multi Installer I can manage to do what I want?
To sum up, what I'm actually looking for is a way to have all the EA Store stuff converted to package files that I can paste in my Mods folder, which I can easily backup if anything happens to the game or to my computer, but being able to choose from those files which ones I don't want. Like... Regal Living Fullset has great objects in it, but there's a couple of crappy armchairs I don't want.
Well, you got the idea.
Thank you. Very much.

I want to refresh the thumbnails in game, like I did in Sims 2, because some do not show right. Can I just delete the files in the Thumbnails folder in my docs? Is it safe?

Yes, but I still don't know if Pescado meant the Downloads Tab of the Game Launcher or the Downloads Folder in My Documents. And, I don't know, but I guess that what really got me confused was that it really didn't have much to do with my original question, although it is a piece of useful information. So... So far I know I can delete whatever I want from the Downloads Tab of the Game Launcher. And I can delete all the files in the DCBackup Folder in My Docs. But, I'm not sure if I can delete the files in the Downloads Folder in My Docs. And I still do not know if I can delete the Objects named "whatever full set" from the Installed Content Tab of the Game Launcher. I'm still learning.

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Questions about The Sims 3 Launcher
|
on: 2009 October 31, 14:43:42

Hello! I have a couple of doubts about the Game Launcher. If someone could please erase my doubts, I'd be really happy. The Game Launcher has different tabs. One reads "Downloads", one "Installed Content", and the rest of the tabs do not matter now, as they're pretty obvious. In the "Downloads" tab, the sets and items you've just downloaded and installed show up in grey, and change to colored if you uninstall a part of that file, right? My number one question is... Suppose I keep a backup copy of everything I download, in a folder somewhere in my hard drive, in case I regret deleting anything. Once I've got everything I wanted installed (Installed Content tab) can I delete everything from the "Downloads" tab??? No matter whether they are grey or colored??? Will it affect my game? It will help me keep things in order, so I really want to know if I understood this right. Number two question. Suppose I have downloaded the "Ultralounge Set" from EA Store. I've installed it. Now, I go to the "Intalled Content" tab so I can delete some items that I tried in game and did not like. In the "Installed Content" tab I'll see the whole list of items in the set... patterns, objetcs, etc. Now, there is one thing I do not understand. Why is there an item called "Ultralounge complete set" What does it mean? Why is it categorized as an object you could buy? And more important, what happens if I delete it? Will it delete the whole set? Because I do not want that, but I want to delete some items, and also to keep things organized. Thank you.
