1  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Can't make AwesomeMod work on: 2012 June 12, 02:26:40
I'm using a Mac, the Mods folder is in the Sims3 folder, with Overrides, Packages and Resource.cfg inside, and Awesomemod in packages. I had been under the impression the d3dx9_31.dll file was no longer necessary, but after trying everything else, put Game/Bin/d3dx9_31.dll in the sims3 folder. That didn't work. I did it the old way by opening the package contents from the Sims3 application, went all the way through to Game/bin and put d3dx9_31.dll in there. That didn't work. I realize you deal with a lot of technologically ignorant people but can you tell me what I'm doing wrong based on this information?
2  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Can't make AwesomeMod work on: 2012 June 11, 23:24:54
I reinstalled sims3 today after not playing it for like 2 years. I'm using the same computer, and I downloaded all of the recent patches so that it's up to date. I was pleasantly surprised to find installing mods had been made much more simple while I'd been away, and easily put in a bunch of the ones I used to use. The only one I can't make work is AwseomeMod. All the extra sliders and stuff I put into the mods folder work just fine, and there are no other core mods to conflict with it, but when I saw that my sims in the CAS were making that dumb smile and that the slider ranges had not been increased I realized AwesomeMod wasn't doing anything. I reconfigured, downloaded and installed it again, even tried it without any other packages in the folder, but it still isn't working.

I'm out of ideas. Help?
3  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Lifetime Rewards Glitch Solution? on: 2009 November 09, 19:45:54
A thread was started about this problem but it's pretty old now, and that necropost warning is so damn scary I couldn't make myself bring it back....

I just started getting the glitch where my lifetime rewards seem to have disappeared, and if I pass my mouse over the places where they should be I get the message ****NULL KEY****. Whether or not the rewards are actually gone or if this is just a graphics problem was not established. And although one person posted a possible solution in the other thread, it doesn't seem to work for me.

If my rewards are still active obviously this isn't a big deal. But what's really weird is the rewards I've already purchased for both of my sims, though faded out on the list of lifetime rewards as if purchased, can be purchased again! And then they disappear from the list of those to buy and appear on my display of current rewards, taking the proper number of points with them and taking up a whole new space rather then coming up where the reward used to be displayed. SOOOO I don't know if I should buy them again or what.

I don't know when this started happening but I saved it in the game so I'm kind of worried.

Both of those suggestions helped, thanks! I am a little disappointed though. The question I had asked earlier in the day that I got mocked for was about whether or not the body sliders in CAS would be modified too, because only facial sliders were mentioned and I didn't think they could be distinguished. The person who responded basically said "duh" in the positive, unless I misunderstood, and now Awesome Mod is working and obviously it doesn't include the body sliders. Someone should make a body slider mod that works with the recent patches. If I could I would, lol.

I couldn't tell if I would get bashed more for starting a new thread on this topic, because I got shut down earlier today for being redundant on a different topic, or for necroposting. I chose to necropost. Please don't yell at me....

I followed Djcz's instructions step by step and made sure all of the files are in the right place on my mac, such that the image http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/752/installingawesome.jpg looks exactly like it does on my computer, but the mod still doesn't seem to be working. I'm basing this on the fact that I downloaded the aweconf.package after changing the settings, put it where the original awesome.package was, and the CAS slider settings haven't changed. I couldn't tell if the original awesome.package file should remain in the same Packages folder WITH the aweconf.package file, or if I was supposed to replace it. But I tried it both ways, with both being present, and with just the aweconf.package file. Neither work.

Everything else is in place, except for the scriptCache.package file which keeps coming back after I put it in the trash. If that has to remain deleted from the Sims 3 folder for this all to work, it doesn't seem to want to stay gone. All I did was unzip the folders for awesomemod and framework and put there files in the right places, if there's more to do than that I guess I missed it.

I am indeed a N00b. I just got this game, and I am not computer savvy, so I'm sorry if what I'm asking is dumb.
