I've been thinking about building a new laptop on the higher end of things.  I don't suppose you'd be willing to share your specs?

I second that request. I'm considering getting a desktop PC to replace my XPS M1730 laptop, which is just not up to the task anymore. I'd love to be able to play TS3 with no lag.

Technically a patch fix rather than an Ambitions fix, but scrolling through objects in the Launcher is a gazillion times faster.

I bought the base game via digital download and have a DVD version of Ambitions, and I've had no problems. I know it's round the other way from what you want to do, but as far as I can tell, it shouldn't be any different.

Has anyone without Ambitions patched their game and had an error loading CAW?

Yes. I won't be getting Ambitions till tomorrow, but patched yesterday in anticipation. And now I can't use CAW.

Going to try this right away! This is definitely the best custom world I've seen so far. Well done. Smiley

Someone said the Riverview bridges are not real ones, just roads with some special meshed sidepiece, not yet found in game.

I've just opened Riverview Lite to see if the bridge showed up. And no, it's not there. It looks like you're right about the road and sidepiece. But why the hell couldn't they include that in CAW?

Question: Can you connect/snap two bridges together?
I would like to know that too, if I could even find them. I found ones from WA, but I can't find the one I think ingelli used in a screenshot from this thread, was that a bridge from Riverview?

Is this the one you mean? Looks like it might be the bridge from China. The Riverview bridge is reddish brick, IIRC.

I still haven't even been able to get a bridge to connect to a road, let alone connect two bridges together.

girlfromverona was correcting your capitalization, not your choice of words.

I'll try to be less obscure next time.  Tongue

I even made a special DC Cache with the necessities for building, which I put in when creating worlds (=all the time now, lol) so I can have my special things to play with.

Good idea, although I'm not sure if CC will automatically get packaged with worlds or not (only matters if you're planning on sharing them). Anyone know?

Bitter much?

Much bitter better.

A trick to make Edit-In-Game load fast, is to temporarily move out the DC Cache folder from Documents/EA/Sims3.

I discovered this literally two minutes before I read your post. Great minds, huh.  Cheesy  Now to spread the word...

Ah, sorry. I thought you meant you'd uninstalled the patch, not the whole game. Guess I need to work on my reading comprehension skills...

My game is working perfectly again, now that I'm back to the previous patch version. The annoying thing is I've never had a problem with patches before and this is one I really want.

How did you uninstall the patch, ElectricSimmer? I did a System Restore, which screwed something up so that the game wouldn't load at all. I'm now completely reinstalling it. Fortunately everything was backed up. Sigh. I really want those recolourable stairs and fences. I'm getting WA on Friday, so hopefully that doesn't **** up my game again.  Undecided
