1  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: New AwesomeMod Request Thread on: 2009 October 19, 13:06:40
But if the inability for child to learn the athletic skill was set in XML, then why NO "children can learn athletic skill" mod can be found in the Internet?
Because your premise is false, and it exists? I recall a Chaavik made it.
I am sorry to tell you that my premise is true, and your recall is wrong. Sources~

I believe that the inability to learn Athletic skill is set in the XML, and then in the interactions that enable it, which are age-locked. They are not hardcoded functionalities, merely functionalities that have to be unlocked in multiple places, all XML.
But if the inability for child to learn the athletic skill was set in XML, then why NO "children can learn athletic skill" mod can be found in the Internet? I think you have the expertise to unlock the restriction, so I post that request. Of course, you have the freedom to or not to complete my request...

From doing~
Tutorial:Sims 3 XML Tuning Modding
, I found that child cannot learn athletic skill is a hard-coded "feature". In addition, from discovering the configuration~
AthleticAutoSelect
, I found that the Awesome Mod also modify related thing of athletic skill.
Therefore, I have the humble request that the Awesome Mod will remove that hard-coded "feature".

That's there by default, because children don't have jobs and therefore cannot buy crap slackness as a perk.
But... you still do not answer my question "how to add reward trait that is not available for child to child"...
5  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Lifetime Rewards Glitch on: 2009 September 18, 05:35:43
Type "lifetimehappiness" to get 50K ASP. AwesomeMod doesn't let you add reward traits with addtrait because they behave in a nonstandard way and mess up when added this way, and rather than trying to figure out how to specifically handle them, it is easier to just tell you to cheat for ASP and buy it that way.
I have forgotten to mention that, ProfessionalSlacker is not available for child to buy...

I am playing "The Sims 3" with patch 1.4.6 installed, and also using the Awesome Mod build 2009/09/16 01:29:00.
When "addtrait ProfessionalSlacker" to my child sim, the message "Can`t buy reward trait. Cheat and buy it instead" is shown. I know I am stupid, but I would like to ask how to "cheat" for child???
7  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: About the online AwesomeMod Configuration Tool on: 2009 September 06, 18:12:39
After the two new features were added to allow players to configure the autosave features, I decided to try the features out and changed my mind using these features. I went back to the page to reconfigure the autosave features to set them both to zero. I wasn't able to with one of the features.

The following feature:

AutoSavesToKeep

Description:

Autosave Every X Minutes (0 to disable)

Problem:

The field box was missing the zero (0) value to be used to disable this feature. I couldn't set this feature to zero to disable this feature.

My reason was because when I placed a new Sim in one lot, the game was autosaved without the option to name it using the Save As option. I didn't want the game to save the game automatically the first time. I wanted to be given the opportunity to name the game save first to separate this save from the other saves I downloaded from players who redid the towns.
I think the online AwesomeMod Configuration Tool is quite misleading. One of the things is that the description of "AutoSavesToKeep" is "Autosave Every X Minutes (0 to disable)". I think the description of "AutoSavesToKeep" should be "Number of auto-save files to be kept".

Stop your whining.

It is not included in the tool because it is not released yet. There is a difference between 'released, but possibly dangerous' and 'not released, very likely dangerous'.
If you absolutely must test 'LiveOnCommunityLots' go ahead, but don't go whining when it messes up your game.

It is not included in the config, ergo cannot be enabled by default, for a REASON.
I am NOT whining, I am just have a question about the replied reason. And I do not want to ask the question which is not related to Indy Stone Mod development stops - News at 9, so I started this topic.
9  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / About the online AwesomeMod Configuration Tool on: 2009 September 05, 19:46:48
This is a followup topic of my post in Indy Stone Mod development stops - News at 9, which is deleted by me...

I said that the webpage~
More Stupid Than You! a.k.a. AwesomeMod Configuration For Dummies!
does not have the config~
LiveOnCommunityLots
which defaults to~
False i.e. Disabled
, and is between the config~
AllowMoveWithPlants
and the config~
MaleNameGeneratorKey
. And the font of the explanation of that webpage is too small...

Then I saw the following reply~
That feature is not finished and is only available to designated testers.

But sorry, I do not understand if the config~
LiveOnCommunityLots
cannot be included in the webpage, then why the following config~
DontResetOnEditTown
AwesomeDebug
AwesomeRouteExperiment
AwesomeRouteDebug
PruneWantTrees
are included in the webpage...
In addition, I found that if that config is included in the webpage, then the webpage will fully match the output of the command "showconfig"...

I hope Awesome Mod can include all features of Indie Stone Mod, except that all included features MUST be configured by pressing "Ctrl+Shift+C" beforehand, and they may be configured by typing "setconfig" afterward and be viewed from using "showconfig" afterward!

Hello all!

We have a forum quoted in the download page which is where all updates on the mod are announced. We've not been able to continue development for various reasons, and are looking for another modder / mod team who would like to continue work on the mod.

Details here: http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=361706

Thanks and love to all those who have supported us, and apologies we never managed to make the patch jump, and screw you all the people who were unneccessarily rude about the lack of an update, like you were paying us or anything.

Love,

lemmy&binky
That is a very sad thing, because I really like that mod...
Even though the "core" package of the Awesome Mod makes the "mod" package of that mod be compatible with "Sims 3" 1.4.6, problems are encountered when the config is going to applied on all households...
So, it is very sad that the problems will not be solved in short time...
I have the read the detail above, but I think the creator of the Awesome Mod can ask for the source code of the Indie Stone Mod, because I think he has expertise and endeavor to merge that mod with the Awesome Mod (or to improve that only...).
However, I think the best way of continuing the development is to make that mod be open source...
