1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Borked Thumbnails after deleting & clearing cache. on: 2010 March 14, 01:28:19
Also, so very bloody sorry for that one typo, dear Sir.  I apologise that it was such an issue, that you had to be a complete wanker.   So my sincerest apologies for my one (pardon me, two) misplaced "its" getting your knickers in a twist.  Put on your big girl panties and deal.

Seems like the one who needs to deal is the n00b who doesn't know their basic grammar skills. MATY places a very high value on correct grammar and spelling. And seriously, what the hell is up with your pathetic reference to "big girl panties"? Is this supposed to be insulting because you referred to Greyform as "sir" and-- ha, ha-- it's so demeaning to call someone else a girl?

No.  I'm a girl.  It's a common reference where I'm from used to tell someone to deal.  I know that MATY places a high value on grammar, and I feel like an idiot for reacting like I did.  I'm really careful about spelling and grammar and yeah, I acted like a n00b but if that's a huge problem I'm sure that Pescado will deal with it and this'll get banished to retardo land and then I'll deal with it.

Sorry about the big girl panties reference.  I didn't realise something so common where I'm from would look so sexist.  I was just being a smart arse.

Just wait for it. If you deleted your entire cache, the game has to generate about a gig of thumbnails.

Thank you for that.

So,

I deleted my thumbnails and my cache files and I am having the following problem:

None of my CC that are in .package form are showing thumbnails in CAS.  Its just an empty blue box.  Anything from the store or in a sims3pack fomat is displaying correctly.

I'm hoping someone would have some idea of how to get the thumbnails to regenerate?  I've booted up my game numerous times and they just don't appear.

Its very frustrating.

A member named Skadi has an awesome help section here: http://sublimesims.net/smf/index.php?board=38.0 Maybe go through and see what you might have missed.

Sounds like you might not have moved all of your framework, or maybe didn't delete your caches?

Okay thanks I'll check that out!

Re Geekgirl: No, I don't have AwesomeMod periodd, only Twallans SuperComputer and Jonha's bodysliders and miscellaneous store and thirdparty custom content.

ETA: Whee thank you so much Slymenstra (and Skadi for their help section) you were 100% right I HAD borked my Framework by forgetting that pesky .dll file again, as I did with WA.  Appreciate your help.
5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Game Won't Load, Crashes To Desktop After Installing HELS on: 2010 February 18, 00:31:59
Okay,

So I received HELS today and installed it.  I still have my Mods in the WA folder because thats what the Wiki suggests and, I already tried switching them around and it didn't work.

I have updated the SuperComputer Mod by Twallan and the Sliders Mod by Jonha which are the two major mods I have (the others are miscellaneous clothes, hair, etc).

So what happens is this:  I click the play button in the Launcher, all the introduction screens are correct, it starts playing the trailer and once the trailer is done playing (or I hit return to skip past it) the game disappears and I'm back to my desktop.  There are no notices saying it crashed, no freezing up.  I'm at a lost.

Specs are as follows:
  Model Name:   iMac
  Model Identifier:   iMac5,1
Processor Name:   Intel Core 2 Duo
  Processor Speed:   2.16 GHz
  Chipset Model:   ATY,RadeonX1600
  VRAM (Total):   128 MB
& 3 GB of RAM

So I'm thinking I am withing the System Requirements.

Any suggestions?

(Hope my n00b isn't showing, so if I need to seach maor! Please advise.)

ETA:  My CC was working fine after the 2.whatever patch that was released VERY recently when HELS was released.  At that point I didn't have the SP and patched my game, then it patched again after installing HELS 3.whatever patch.

Regarding the Launcher not installing the sim packs, have you tried removing your packages folder (just to your desktop) and then trying to install through the Launcher?

That worked for me but I was getting a initialization failed error message and I'm using a Mac.

If someone volunteers, I can ask Delphy permission to update his facial sliders from here:

http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=344369

But, as I said, I need volunteers first

I'd be 100% for an updated version of Delphy's facial sliders. I was so disappointed when they stopped working with the newer patches.
