I've donated $30. I'll have to see where my finances stand, as I have a very limited fixed income.

bestofsmall, the best way to not use CC is to turn it off in the catalog, all you have to do is go to your game settings and set custom content to not display in the catalog so that you won't accidentally use some. Once you're done building your house, go back into your settings and tell the game to display it. Easy.

Oops. Bandwidth exceeded. >_<

I had been working on a second submission for this month, I spent a pretty grand amount of time on it. But I finally finished it today, placed the apartment doors on it, and entered the 'cheat' to make it into an apartment, and the game informed me that it had an invalid apartment lot. I fiddled with it for about an hour, but eventually gave up. Sorry :/

That's a lovely oriental style you've got going on, Jorganza. I really hope you can finish it.

@ajcrawly - Might I suggest playing in windowed mode for the purpose of taking pictures and using the print screen button on your keyboard? That's what I do. The first floor looks a bit crowded, but it gives it a more "lived-in" feel, I think. I'd suggest more landscaping though.

@Sipu_von_Sapu - I adore your house! Nothing to critique except for the fact that it's unfurnished ;]

@bestofsmall - The only problem I have is the windows, but there are really no major concerns. (besides the included recolors of doors & a door itself) Thank you, by the way.

Now to finish up my second attempt.

I would suggest changing up the windows a bit, and maybe adding some more in the "blank" spaces of the house. Those roof angles look killer, by the way, and I mean that literally.

One quick submission: the Fantastic Flat

This house is intended to house a family of 5, with specific bedrooms for a teenaged girl, twin boys (or even two more girls, if they like teal & blue), and a parents room downstairs. There are 2 and a half bathrooms, two of which are upstairs for easier access by the kids. Use and redecorate to your hearts content! Cheesy

This house was built using all EP's and all SP's. As per the rules, there is no CC.

Sweet, I haven't done a house of phail in months. Literally.
10  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Phail: December 2009 on: 2010 February 17, 05:05:17
If people participate in this one, I doubt they'll leave the terrain the same anyway. Usually the first thing I do is change terrains, so I don't think that's a major concern.
11  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Phail: December 2009 on: 2010 February 17, 03:26:46
I was considering making it a bonus to keep the hill (where the tree is) and the tree in place.

ETA - if that's not possible (because looking at it from the anygamestarter point of view, it would be a pain in the ass to reconstruct the hill.), keeping the tree and bush in place would also be viable.
12  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Phail: December 2009 on: 2010 February 17, 02:27:34
The light brown thing would be a shelf, those came with apartment life as well. Easily just taken out...

Can do :]

One way to take better pics would be to press the tab button and press the print screen button on your keyboard, rather than using the in-game camera. That's what I use when taking pictures.

Of course, adjust the position of the screen first, and all of that, before print screening.

I would also suggest windowed mode, so that you don't have to continually minimize the game.

As an aside...

I picked out a lot that we could make-over in March, if someone would be so kind as to make a base game compatible version, because at this point it requires Apartment Life. (I would say this month, but this month is half over.)
15  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Phail: December 2009 on: 2010 January 01, 09:34:40
Oh shoot! I completely forgot about my Phail house! Eep...I've been slacking a bit, actually. And this months house was extremely versatile and editable. I'll submit one still, but it obviously isn't within the deadline. Whoops.
16  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Phail: November 2009 on: 2009 December 01, 04:18:15
I got way to frustrated with the general shape of this house, so I'm throwing in the towel. Octagons are not my strong point. Hopefully the next house is moar....inspiring.
17  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Phail: November 2009 on: 2009 November 09, 03:04:17
Holy cow! That's positively stunning! It reminds me of Versailles for some reason, even though the deep burgundy is nothing like it. Perhaps it's the mirrors?

Well, piddle. My house doesn't seem as nice anymore. Time to start over!
18  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Phail: November 2009 on: 2009 November 08, 09:09:39
So who the fuck is Baba Yaga? Not that I really give a fuck. How does it make me an ignorant buffoon not to know this idiotic piece of Maxis phail shit is supposed to be the hut of some fucker I've never heard of, don't give a fucking hairy rat's ass about, and wouldn't give a flying fuck if I never heard of? Just because you know an inconsequential piece of trivia shit that I don't, does not make me an ignorant buffoon, but you calling me that makes you an ignorant, supercilious, asshole. I doubtless know a lot of useless trivia shit that you never fucking dreamed of, but I wouldn't call you an ignorant buffoon for not knowing it. A conceited, vain, egocentric, bigheaded, arrogant, egotistical, condescending, pompous, pretentious, narcissistic, self-important, full of yourself, motherfucker you may be, but not an ignorant buffoon. And yes, I did make use of my thesaurus in order to be certain I didn't omit any vital words in the assessment of your stellar qualities.

Dear God of whatever denomination, calm down!
19  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Phail: November 2009 on: 2009 November 08, 00:42:59
Hmm, I shall have to re-create this lot since I don't have AL installed. :]
20  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Phail: October 2009 on: 2009 November 07, 06:31:40
what the...there's no doors? Oh my.

This one should do, I think. It's obviously in dire need of a make-over.
21  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Phail: October 2009 on: 2009 November 06, 14:48:34
Oops. I have not been paying much attention to MATY of late, to be quite honest. I will go searching for some houses and ensure a base game build (though I may need someone else to take care of the specifics.)

I think what I mean to say here is that I will suggest a house. Hopefully soon.
22  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Phail: October 2009 on: 2009 October 11, 18:09:26
Not at all, it's just that after I was already done, I realized there was only one and it would've looked weird to just add a single room for a bathroom. It's pretty apparent by my past houses that I prefer 3+ usually.  :p

Comments on other houses coming soon. Can't wait to see your entry, chobeegal. If you're planning on building a house, that is.
23  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Phail: October 2009 on: 2009 October 11, 04:08:45
I got around to building one of an unknown number of entries today. I'm happy with it for the most part, but it lacks bathrooms ;(
And the backyard is just some brick porch area and it isn't very exciting, but there's a pond.

House was built with The Sims 2 Deluxe, Open For Business, Free Time, Apartment Life, Mansion & Garden Stuff
and is available for download here:

Well, yes, I'd be rebuilding it. But I think I'll just end up doing one with a foundation and one without a foundation.
25  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Phail: October 2009 on: 2009 October 03, 23:45:37
I don't really like foundations. Are we allowed to take it off of the foundation? On second thought, forcing the foundation may be more of a challenge. For bonus points, I'd recommend keeping the little balcony. It can be expanded but not demolished.
