Looks like everything's working fine now. Many thanks! Smiley

That's unfortunate, hurricane Josh? Cheesy

I had set up a college neighborhood by deleting every resident sim as well as all the dormies, and added one dormie who was a regular sim that I moved to the townie family for the purpose of being the guy to keep the secret society working (added the secret society membership with the cheats, though the description of this hack would indicate it would do that itself if I didn't). This worked alright in the past.

This is the error on loading the secret society lot...

Object Error
An error occurred in object "Controller - Secret Society" #396,
Error: Illegal owner field in data reference.

The only way to dismiss this error is to select "delete" but the loading screen never goes away, the sound eventually starts though so something must be happening.

I also tried loading a couple of community lots to see if it made any more sims or anything, it didn't, but the one sim I put in the townie family was instanced twice on the lot, once in his regular clothes and once in the secret society getup. I have verified that he is not in two families at the same time or anything like that.

Hey Pescado, the version of this hack in the moreawesomethanyou-uni.zip file doesn't work properly if you're just using the base game and the university pack. Do you still have the old version of it somewhere by any chance?
6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Accidental-on-Purpose Deaths (Mod Request) on: 2005 November 20, 00:07:22
Something that made their disease death happen faster (and more unpredictably) would be alright as well, don't you think? I hear they have to be sick for fourteen days before they will die (the reliability of this is questionable) but the longest illness I have seen lasted less than one day and I was trying to prolong it to get them to die.
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Quick question about de-aging sims on: 2005 November 19, 23:49:43
Enter boolprop testingCheatsEnabled true then SHIFT+LMB on a sim then select spawn.../sim modder and click the sim modder and choose the set age.../me.../whatever age to change it.

OK thanks, I'll take it out next time.

I thought the Nightlife patch removed the cheering thing for all but the first A+ but the memories were still created? After installing the Nightlife patch I removed all the hacks except notownieregen and added these ones in if some situation came up, but I can't remember if I was getting more A+ memories or not now (it has been a pretty long time since I played).

I think all those are supposed to be usable with Nightlife (some only usable with Nightlife).
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Driveways...How to pave? on: 2005 November 13, 22:31:26
I think any tiles you place in the same area as a driveway go under the driveway, so the only option is an invisible one. Though looking at 'The House of Fallen Trees' in downtown it seems that putting terrain under the driveway area makes the driveway invisible in the neighborhood view, if you care about that at all.
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No second pregnant bump? on: 2005 November 13, 22:24:25
I haven't played for a while but the last time I am sure no sims got a second bump either... I remember sending one to sleep and then watching some other sims doing something and expecting the camera to get jacked and pointed at nothing interesting because they would be on a different floor than I was looking at within a few minutes but it never happened, the next day they had their kid as usual though, so I didn't mind.

I built their house on a blank lot after installing Nightlife, so it is probably something else if you want to keep checking into this.
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Does anyone ever feel this way about some of the in-game faces? on: 2005 October 11, 05:48:50
You could make some sims in CAS in another neighborhood and extract the facial structure using SimPE as in the tutorial Motoki posted. This is a pretty time intensive way to do this but it will work if you have the patience.
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Objects from Sims' inventory unable to cast shadows on: 2005 October 06, 02:34:11
I'd forgotten all about these "dateable slobs". I have seen a guy in pyjamas once or twice (the new set that came with NL) but can't recall seeing a woman. What is it about these people? Are they desperate for dates, or something?

My guess is that these sims are supposed to cause humourous situations somehow due to their slovenly personalities, besides that that they just seem to be like the other townies except that in my game files at least they both appear to have been placed into a job at level 2 of the slacker career and they have almost all of their mechanical and creativity skills but no other skills, but if they do anything differently from any other sim I haven't seen it yet.
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Don't Talk, EAT! grrrr on: 2005 October 05, 21:34:56
Usually I give him the tour then get every family member to talk to him, you can usually get 20-30 shmooze points this way. I used to get them to eat together but since installing Nightlife I only let one sim eat with him on the one occassion that called for a headmaster so far, and that was because they needed to eat badly. This generally only gets you 90-95 points but that is enough.

Incidentally I have seen a headmaster eat a full meal and still got zero points for it a couple of times - I don't know why that happened but I suspect someone ate some of the food on the plate he picked when called for dinner, though I have also seen him eat an almost finished plate and give something like 3-5 points, so I am not entirely convinced that this is why it happened.
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Objects from Sims' inventory unable to cast shadows on: 2005 October 05, 21:14:36
The notownieregen hack already stops it making downtowines - though there are four with slightly different properties that will always regenerate if you kill them or move them in with a family, those are the mr. big & diva, and the so-called "dateable slob" - of which there is a male and female version which you will probably see hanging around downtown lots wearing stained pajamas and slouching a lot.
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Submit Issues about Nightlife on: 2005 October 05, 21:09:30
You can use the drivers from the ATI site. Hydravision is some application for using multiple displays, you get a tray icon with some options in a menu.
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Ghosts on: 2005 September 30, 13:04:43
I have forgotten which part of the string stored in "token - I am dead" in their memories corresponds to some identifier for their favourite object, so if you work out which part of it this is and change it to 0000 they won't care about the object anymore... I think that twojeffs posted this at variousimmers quite a while ago (possibly in the thread about his ghost hack) so you could look there when the site starts working again for more details about this.
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bump Mapping works with my Gforce 6800GT & Nightlife. on: 2005 September 29, 03:26:30
You can avoid those big gaps if you use the hipped roof instead of the shed gabled roof or whatever it's called to do pieces of roof that are half way up walls, etc., by stretching it so the other half of the hipped roof is inside the walls of the house, though you can sometimes see the hidden part of the roof in neighborhood view if the windows disappear, which seems to happen quite a lot.
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: So what is really up with this bug issue? on: 2005 September 29, 01:43:12
Usually the career rewards that my sims earn stay in the catalog because most of them aren't really worth having. I was thinking more along the lines of the updated phone hack not being usable or something like that -- if there were a situation similar to how the updated noretirementjobspam hack doesn't work although as J.M. posted at variousimmers a while ago when someone asked if it could work without university, he said there were new functions or whatever they are included with university that allow something like this to work that weren't available in the original game, those functions probably are available in Nightlife anyway but it still doesn't work for some reason. However I think I can endure without these, as long as notownieregen works I am not all that concerned about anything else.
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: So what is really up with this bug issue? on: 2005 September 29, 00:43:03
I don't think university was worth getting. Nightlife is great though, you get all the useful things from university - which I consider to be limited to lifetime wants and two story columns - without having a university that adds a long and pointless lifetime stage which is pretty much compulsory for teenagers due to the wants and fears being hijacked by college related stuff. I only removed university yesterday but it is going to take some pretty huge reason to get me to install it again.
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hacks you miss most? on: 2005 September 20, 22:11:40
I'm missing all the hacks related to being able to kill the townies and not have any new ones replace them... Or at least I will be when I get a chance to play for more than a half hour. The macro socialiser is something else I used a lot.
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Apologizing interaction working backwards on: 2005 August 21, 07:47:59
Bad memories seem to be used for gossip as opposed to nothing (just the face of someone they know will be in the bubble, followed by no bubble, then the same face again) which is what they seem to use the rest of the time - affairs are always good memories which might be why they never gossip about them.
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Big fiery ball visible from outer space. I need some good advice. on: 2005 August 16, 11:40:42
First thing to do would be to get some diagnostic program for the hard drive and see what it says.
25  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Random baby/toddler questions on: 2005 August 15, 13:32:26
You can put the highchair anywhere in the same room and they will 'transform' the food into a bowl of toddler mush - This operation seems to require that they have space to the right or left of the highchair for whatever reason, so if you put two highchairs next to eachother only one toddler will get food.
