Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Game Update for: 1.15/2.10/3.6/4.3

O Hai. Right, so I've just installed Fast Lane Stuff and I'm at Version 5.0.44.008001. What does that equate to for the other Exp packs? Am I at 4.3 or is this the NEXT update? I'm guessing it's the next update, as AM is making me crash to desktop at the moment.
Edit: Although it may not be AM as I've just realised I'm a giant e-peen who's forgotten to move the d3.dll and whatnot.
Edit 2:It WAS AM causing the conflict, so I guess it's the next update. d3 and and resource.cfg are all setup and game is running fine.

I suspect Veezee is a 12.
Hadn't seen that tool before, may be handy for safeguarding the PC against my parents...
? The economy in short...no well paid jobs available/stuck at home; unable to afford to move out - I'm 20. The PC was built by my...errr... fair hand, and the parents are clueless with computers, yet insist on using it rather than getting their own. Part of my "no paying rent" agreement.

I suspect Veezee is a 12.
Unfortunately not, its just I quite often fail to pick up the tone of a post. I will admit, that prior to the Sims 3, I had never ventured off of the "friendly" sims boards. Maybe this is why my attitude can sometimes be percieved, here, as childish - something I shall endeavour to change. Seems I keep pissing people off recently, my humour fails to transpose well to the internet.

@veezee: As a noob yourself, I suppose that denigrating other's computer skills is your way of attempting to establish your perceived 'superior' computer abilities on this site. But in my opinion a better strategy on your part, which would better serve to establish your credibilty in that regard, would be if you actually provided some useful technical information on occasion.
@Jordi: thank you for responding to my question, and for the useful technical information.
It may well be true that Jordi's response was more helpful. Certainly, it was lot more in-depth than my own reply. But, my answer was simply a quick and simple fix. To someone of lesser intellect, my answer would suffice. The reason my initial response was so short, is that you failed to run a double-click app successfully. I do not doubt that you have a reasonable level of intellect, as is indicated by your perfectly acceptable grammar and spelling. My doubt was that a complex answer may not be what you were after. I have no intention of trying to establish myself as any kind of computer wizard - I could probably pull it off on the BBS, but here it is an exercise in futility. I didn't intend to offend you, as clearly, I have; I do so hate it when people take generalised statements personally. So, here's a cupcake. Run along.

Get TweakUAC and set it to the quiet mode. That will make it behave, and no longer annoy you to death just because you're writing to a drive root. It does not sacrifice any security or cause problems. I'm not sure whether or not I should applaud your patience for the computer-illiterate masses. I think I should, but that goes against my ethos - I'm no programmer by any means, but folder dictation is simplez. Rant over. Hadn't seen that tool before, may be handy for safeguarding the PC against my parents...

Thanks a lot veezee. I contacted some of my friends and fortunately some of my tard friends don't mind to be humiliated and investigated around. We have a common friend that is dealing with Linux and could answer that the problem I was having should not be caused by Java once I updated. Finally I found out that the tool looked weird because it looks weird anyway. Well, anyway I solved the problem with s3pe and nuked the opportunities. It had nothing to do with this mod. Thanks for your kindness to answer.
Not an issue, courtesy is free (as is net-venom). For the benefit of people looking to solve this issue, can you tell us what you did with s3pe to solve it? If it's a package file - you could upload it as an attachment.

Only Pescado gets away with cryptic, unspecified commands Didn't know that. It are fact? You know from your learnings? No, not really. I see you failed to acknowledge the presence of a certain yellow orb displaying its tongue in a non-serious fashion. Anyway, before this topic becomes too hostile, would like to let you know I do appreciate this obj.

So, what does Dragon's Dance do..?
There's a little known app on the web that helps you locate information. Here, let me show you: www.google.comShould've expected that really, chastisement fair in this case. Although, that said, google was of no use in finding the answer as was Wikipedia. Shall try it and if anyone would like to know they can then ask me.

The best I can really do for you is point you to the tool I used to come up with the original - I have NEVER tested this mod, as it's not something that bothers me and was just a response to someone whinging that they couldn't find the necessary brain capacity to operate the tool. http://linna.modthesims.info/download.php?t=353622It's been updated now and has a search, should make it a little easier to find the parameters you're after. The only problem is, I suspect some of the opportunities are unkillable via XML hacks. You can but try.

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Thinness capped at .5?
|

This is something with which I must respectfully disagree. The difference between an "emaciated stick" and a regular person is simply the quantity of possessed body fat (and muscle, but that's handled separately in The Sims). If cardio exercise causes a decrease in body fat, it should cause a shift towards Thinness=1 regardless of where the sim is along the thinness/fatness spectrum.
I must respectfully disagree with your respectful disagreement. A cardio workout by it's very nature encourages the growth of lean muscle, and as such someone who participates a lot in cardio exercise will eventually reach a plateau where weight loss stops. At this point, they may continue to burn fat, but it will be quickly replaced, with heavier, more dense muscle mass. I work in a leisure centre (gym/pool) and as such, know these things. With regard to the OPs query - Perhaps the original restraints, even in CAS? We've all grown used to the slider hacks, I think. As a solution, the BodySculptor can be improved in a tuning XML very easily, have a look for the Mod Maker at MTS if you have no prior modding experience.

Stop writing in colors or I will have to hurt you.
Firstly, lol. Secondly, I have started having error #13 recently, when playing for a large period of time without saving. Hitting Main Menu and selecting Save at that point has allowed me to save a couple of times. If this is related to neighbourhood or save sizes, could ASM be creating vast swathes of information the game could be including into said save?

Psst...Pescado...anything in Indy you'd like to take for awesome? On a more serious note, it's a shame that they're stopping development on it, because it was a godsend, especially in the early period. No more OAP neighbourhoods. We still have a ray of light to hold onto though, in that AwesomeMod is really beginning to be put to good use with it's Storymode overrides. Will be interesting to see the direction it will take, should a new team of modders take up the task. If not, RIP Indy.

as for the rest of you all,i dont understand why you are all getting upset over this.
Tides, they're annoyed at you because you keep pestering other people to make your odd little niche mod for you, when one program, Notepad, and half an ounce of sense would allow you to make it for yourself. It's not so much the mod as the entitlement.
I can see both sides of this particular disagreement - on one hand, modding can be very intimidating. I've only begun because the aforementioned tool gave an easy entrance into it. On the other, if it is something you really do want, the tools and tutorials are out there to get you started. I have no issue trying it out, because it gives me an excuse to become more familiar with the tools available. No need to have a back and forth argument over it, so lets just leave it there. Does anyone have any ideas on finding said job opportunites? Either within the Mod maker, or the XML files?

It's not super secret, it's a simple trick. It should discourage unknown people to fill the thread with their selfsims which nobody cares of.
In a nutshell, if you can't answer positively to the basic Pescadoish questions: "WHO BE YOU? DO WE KNOW YOU? DO WE LIKE YOU?", then probably your pudding doesn't belongs here.
I do like how this place operates. Although my pudding may currently be uninteresting to all of yous of great typingness, moddifidliness and such, I do feel it would add some nice children to your MATY neighbourhoods in generations to come. In summary, thanks for clearing that up
