Thunder Cliff Lonely Log Cabin far far in the blue mountains  Cheesy

My version is this time only partly furnished because I'm feeling a bit lazy.

Lockable kitchen, lockable stairs so your guests don't wander about where they shouldn't, one desk but otherwise not so awesome spec.
No cc, not playtested at all.

Here's my version. I made a modern family home and tried to make it as playable as possible but haven't play tested it at all.
It's not fully furnished because I sort of ran out of steam, but here it is anyway, and I hope you like it.

View from the front.  This house is self sufficient with energy: there's a windmill and solar panels on the roof.

Another view from the front. The rubbish bin is close by a side door to the kitchen.

From the back. There's a small pool and a couple of sun chairs but I left most of the back garden open. It's up to the player to use it for what ever they desire.

Upstairs: two bedrooms, two baths, gym and a family room with bar and karaoke

Downstairs: One bedroom and a nursery, kitchen and sitting room with tv, skilling area + one big room that I left empty (maybe it could be used for storing the urns and portraits of deceased family members).

I've got all EP's and all stuff packs.

Wow Jorganza,  Shocked  that church is truly amazing, I think I can use that in my game. Thanks for sharing!

Minena: Thank you for making the original area visible like that, now it's easy to spot what's new. Good layout, looks very playable. I like the colours a lot. Actually, I had a similar idea myself about the porch and balcony.

Ilikecoffee: Such sweet colours, I love them, and a great idea to make a row house. It looks charming, but does it fill the lot completely? I don't play TS3 but maybe I should give it a go.  Cheesy

Ciane: I like your symmetrical layout but would like a door out from the kitchen. The rooms are nice and airy and big enough for the sims to move around freely. There's something about the roof though...hmm... roofs can be problematic sometimes.

In general, I don't understand why the game defaults the trash can by the mail box. As a rule, I move it somewhere close to kitchen door or out of sight anyway. In RL, I wouldn't want such an ugly thing right in front of my main entrance, but the sims don't seem to mind  Wink

Good choice for house improvement! Let's hope there will be active participation. Can't wait to see what people will come up with.  Cheesy

Hi everybody!
Some exciting entries here so far! I made this house right after the September house was announced but have been keeping it in case I come up with something better. Now I'm giving up as this octagonal shape (or whatever it's called) just doesn't inspire me much. So here's my version. One bedroom & one bathroom but lots of space for entertaining guests. There's also a small guest toilet.
I was experimenting with a landing so the house turned out a bit weird, I suppose, but it's meant for a fun loving single sim or a couple with no kids  Wink
Anyway, all critique is welcome!

Through the windows you should see stairs to a landing (not very well though).

Here you can see the landing with the one desk and stairs to second floor.

Kitchen is at the back of the house with a door to patio and grilling area

The pond is fishable.

The house is playtested. Download
Oh, and that mailbox override you see in the picturs is not included in the download package.

Edit: I knew I had forgotten something. I've got all EP's and all SP's except Family Fun Stuff.

Hi again
some truly amazing houses you all have built. I'm thoroughly enjoying looking at this burst of imagination and talent you all are showing. Thanks for sharing, everyone. Such a source of inspiration. Cheesy

Thanks for your comments. The kitchen in my first version was a bit small (but still perfectly playable though). I suppose, I'm not a very kitcheny person myself. Hardly ever allow my sims to cook, but however, I decided to make some improvements to my first version and here you have it: my version # 2. This one isn't playtested at all.

Moved the kitchen and swapped the places of dining area and sofa group. Added a fireplace to the dining area and a grilling area at the back of the house. The rubbish bin is now in a closet.

Made the library a bit larger and the two bedrooms a bit smaller. Added another balcony.

The cost of this house is around §88k

No cc included. I've got all EP's and SP's
Enjoy!

Hi, I like what everybody have done with this house so far. Good work!

So here's my version. Playtested just a bit. Its only partly furnished only to show where I thought the different areas should be. And it has the one desk.

I 've got all the EP's and other stuff packs but don't own that FFS SP so I was pleased that you guys made the house available for me to download. Thank you.

That said, I'd like to add a small rant: I wanted to use the boolProp lockTiles false code but was disappointed to note that it didn't work. So I couldn't make the house as wide as I would have liked. Blah! /end rant.

Now to the pictures: I've made some small modifications to minor details of this house after I took the pictures.

A fence protects the garden from strays. The mail box you see in the pic is part of default replacements Avanti Entrance Set from Simgedoehns. It's not included in the download package.

The trash can is at the back of the house by the kitchen door. so it doesn't take the sims too long to take the trash out. The trash can is also from the Avanti Entrance Set from Simgedoehns.

Downstairs. You can lock the kitchen door and the door to upstairs to prevent guests from wandering. A small table is placed by the entrance door so that the sims can place their incoming mail there. I've used half walls to divide the room in separate foyeur area, dining area and tv-area. See the slide show for detailed pics! I took away the rocky fountain from the garden corner because it was a stupid idea to put it there in the first place!

Upstairs. Here's a big family room, balcony, a library and two other rooms.

All the details pictures are in a slideshow here.

It's far from perfect, but I hope you like it  Grin

Edit: the link to slideshow should work now.

MadameUgly: Tks, yes it's greenhouse roofing.

Horsey: Wow such a long comment, thank you for taking the time. I appreciate your eloquence.  Wink

The theme was freedom, right? To me, letting the grass grow flowers freely is an expression of freedom. Sorry, I should have mentioned that in the post.
Also placing that fugly plastic table next to an expensive grill is a wild and free act. Glad you noticed...  Grin

Hi, I'm a long time lurker and this time I decided to have a go  Grin

This is my first post here, so I'm hoping I'm doing it right.

I have all ep's and stuff packs and here's how the house turned out. I didn't move the tree and kept all the original outside walls. Note the star shaped deck with a palm tree in the middle. There's a glass roof, you can see it better in some of the slideshow pictures.

This is the downstairs

And here's upstairs.

And a night time view (yes the house is playtested just a bit)

Here's a link to a slideshow

Any comments would be welcome.
Right now I'm feeling a bit too lazy to put the house up for download, but I can do that if somebody wants to grab it.  Cheesy
