TS2 was designed to run on Windows 98 through XP (the system requirements on the Apartment Life case I own don't even mention Vista.)
Funny, because the Seasons' readme mentions Vista, as "not fully released" or something. But it mentions it nonetheless.

I'm using "a" Windows Vista. I was complaining more about the computer's specs than the OS itself, and that wasn't even the main point of my post. Frankly, I'd rather you'd threadshit somewhere else. Retardo Land would be a good place for you.
Me? Shitpost? How absurd.

I don't have my computer with me now (I'm using sucky Windows Vista), I'm using sucky Windows Vista Sucky. Windows. Vista.
Vista does not suck1!!11oneshift+one! Sure it has its flaws, but that does not mean we must hate it. I mean, XP ha(d/s) flaws. And "no one" hates XP. ETA: Perhaps I don't hate it because I made the UAC sound GLaDOS saying "Good people, do not end up here."

"Windoze 7" disturbs me. For one, nobody seems to be bothered to bash it, which immediately raises my suspicions. It seems inconceivable that a new Windoze can exist that runs everything perfectly, so the credibility of all these early reviewers is immediately suspect. I suspect they all drank the Kool-Aid. There is simply no possible way NOTHING can be wrong.
*Thinks back about Oct-Dec 09* OH MY GOD YOU'RE RIGHT!!1one I just like to say 7=Vista and it pisses everyone off.

OK so BV seems to work quite fine. But I do have some problems that I should just post here anyway...? Maybe just the more complicated one, the 24 hour clock is easy to find. When my Sim gets in a car, he/she steps on the driveway, then it cancels and is replaced with "W4tch 0ut zomg!!11one" Then the car becomes useless, and says is in use. ETA: About the clock, I must have downloaded a European torrent.

A bit of a bump here, but I was never expecting a response again... But I learned that I think I have SecuROM from RCT3 Soaked, the damn thing doesn't work on Vista anyway. Oh well, hopefully I won't be stuck with this laptop for long and I never had problems with SecuROM AFAIK.

Here's an update for you. Can You Run It says I can run AL with extreme ease. But Freetime (how do you abbreviate that, FT?, F?) and BV are in the lower range in between minimum and recommended. Does BV have dual core support? Because it also said my pathetic dual core processor was rated at 2.5xx GHz (it's actually 1.73 if you were paying attention).

YES I KNOW! And a laptop like that wouldn't sell for 100 dolla (heh), more like 300. Besides, I have other games too, like Source games, and I want to play Fallout 3 and L4D2. Yes, a laptop that can't even run TS2:AL is REALLY, BAD! I just don't know if I want to arr some of those, all the rest have SecuROM don't they? ...Maybe I'd just buy AL, and arr the rest...

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / EPs and System Requirements

I was wondering how much the system requirements actually differ (and I still didn't look at them yet. Must. Do. NAO!) between EPs, if I can run Seasons, could I run AL? ...Performance for Seasons...Adequate. I don't have the best of a laptop, so if I do want to buy MOAR! EPs (which I kinda do), it would be nice to know what I'm getting myself into.
(Looking at requirements now.)
ETA: This is what I was worried about. Processor:1.8 Ghz processor (2.4 for Vista) I have Vista, and my processor is a... 1.73 GHz Pentium (significant?) Dual core. AND TS2 doesn't have dual core support. I remember Seasons, I believe, needed a 1.7 GHz CPU, so I just made it there. But I had Seasons on this other computer and that has only a 1.6 GHz SINGLE core. And it ran fine. Could the Minimum actually be they're recommended? I also feel like I'm thinking too fast.
EATA: On site, it says 1.3 GHz, but on the label on the case it said 1.7 (I think, it was a long time ago...), for Seasons, I should mention. And I also think anything past Seasons has SecuROM, right? The base of my question is: Is 7/100 of a GHz going to make a difference in performance? Although that is going to make quite a difference at the minimum. Hmmm. I am finished. Consider!

Yeah, right-click on (My) Documents, properties, and (on Vista, at least) go to Location. There you can manually type a new destination or browse (Move... buttton) for it. Say yes to both questions, it will move (mine took about 18 minutes for 4.5 GB).
There, now we have a handy little how-to on here and on MTS.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Changing "EA Games" Directory
|

The laptop I'm using now has a small hard drive (I think it's partitioned) of near 70 GB each. With Steam and Garry's Mod on here, it's taken a lot of room; so I moved my Sims collection to the other drive. But... the EA Games folder in the C drive (the near full one) is 2.62 GB. It would save me a lot of extra space if I could move it to the D drive. Is this possible?
ETA: Looking on the MTS forums, it would seem you need to move the entire Documents folder, which I'm okay with (although this may interfere with normal use). Good thing, too. Moving Documents will free up 4.5 GB!

My nervousness is not in...ah, vain. Yes, that's it. Looks like I'm fishing for Torrents. Or writing to EA.
ETA: I did look inside to see if anything is loose, but the case just covers up too much and K didn't take too much time looking around. I should check again some time again.

Aren't my titles great? Anyway, after uninstalling TS2 and reinstalling it on the other...partition, I can't re-install NL. The CD makes a terrible roaring sort of noise that is mostly muffled by holding on to the...I don't know what it's called, of the disk drive. Only two other CDs that I know of do this. However, it doesn't stop there. About 12, 13% completion, it stops, and my laptops makes a clicking noise that makes me nervous and a BSoD! I have to forcefully turn it off. Wait for a POST error, then off and on again for full functionality. Make sense? I decided to come here before going to Tech. Support (again). Google was of no help.

If you could give me an example in case I do it wrong, that would be great. Hope it works. ETA: Never mind, it's surprisingly simple. Although now I got rid of the Nightlife houses so now I have to rename those... EATA: There we go, a simple 10 minute fix! Now I may still have 3 OFB businesses , but I have all the houses!

With one problem fixed, comes another. It would seem that OFB overwrote all the base game houses (Craftsmen Pride, Helluva Hacienda, Cape Cod Classic, etc). I would really, really like these houses back to populate my new neighborhoods. Any ideas?

Extensive play testing reveals that everything seems to work! YAY! Too bad it still resets when started from disk, but I don't care, I cancel when UAC asks me and it's in my drive all the time now. ISSUE FIXED! (for now...)

Sorry, I didn't see this post, it didn't load quick enough ( ) See my previous post. ETA: Okay, now that's fixed , I'll have to see if it fixes The Sims now. It installed 7.15..., so Acer has something wrong but Intel had 15.... but 7.15... in parentheses, oh well, it's a different...build(?, it's not an entirely new version, is it?)I hope this works. ETA: It seems to work, the family that never loaded, loaded. I'll truly find out in CAS...

I have Vista (Home Premium 32-bit), I'm trying to install Intel GMA driver 8.2.0.1014 from 7.14.0010.1437. I shall uninstall the drivers then install the new ones first... ETA: Okay, this is not going well, I uninstalled the driver, the screen goes all non-native resolution, install the new drivers and nothing is different. Now I have to go all System Restore... EATA: Something went wrong at Acer, they don't have the newest driver, and it also is broken (I thought the installation was too quick, along with the file being small..). I'll have to look at Intel.
