Ok SJActress it wasn't your link.  I tried everything and double checked everything. I finally decided to once again unload all my EP's and base game and reload them. I checked each one as I went and when I finally got to the last (ambitions) it was doing the same thing. I found out that my EA download manager had somehow got f'd up. I purged it and downloaded a new one, put Awesome back in and it is now working. Thank you for all the help.

Tried both ways- still says the same thing. Grr...I'm so frustrated. I'll keep looking.

Tried restoring the d3dx9_31.dll back into base and all EPs game/bin and it still says the same thing when I try to run the game.

Using the Resource file that was linked in the instructions on SJActress. The aweconfig.package is in the same folder as awesome.package (when I tried to just generate and run it- it said no valid path was found!) I will try to put the d3dx9_31.dll back into my program files. I am hoping it is still in my recycle bin because I removed it a while ago

Holy Hell I can't get this to work. I am a noob and an idiot who has used AwesomeMod since I started playing the base game. I am getting frustrated enough that I'm willing to risk a total lashing! I now have the base game, HEL , WA and Ambitions. I have followed the thread that SJActress has about how to download with the latest patch and EP's. I have looked at the pictures  posted by Simius and my folders matched the pictures posted. Originally when I downloaded the configure file to go with Awesome it just said "cannot find valid path to install" so I saved the file into my mods folder where AwesomeMod is manually. Now when I click on my desktop it just fails to play all together. It says there was an "error during startup".  I have tried reinstalling awesome etc. I have removed all CC and I've double checked to make sure the old files on my computer have been removed from the Program Files. I am brain hurt! What am I missing! I'd rather face that I am a complete idiot than continue to play vanilla!

Def will give it another try! I may have overlooked it because I was assuming I would see the face pop up on the left... sorry.

Well, I tried to use the space bar to get my mom to pop up but to no avail. It only moves from one sim to the next that are already showing on the left. I wanted to make a very large family but as soon as the 9th person was added I lost control of the mother so how am I suppose to get her pregnant again! Also, she's not doing a very good job of taking care of herself or the kids and I can't make her do anything. Others in the household can still interact her but she's totally autonomous...urggg. I'm so hoping there's a solution to this that I'm just missing because if you can't play the family- it kinda defeats the purpose of having more than 8 and enabling pregnancy on a full lot!

In my game I had a family with 8..the mom then got pregnant and had a baby. As soon as they arrived home from the hospital and the baby was added to the family the mother was no longer controllable. She was still in the house but I couldn't click on her or anything. Now I can't even make her take care of her kids! Is this something that has been discussed because I couldn't find anything about it anywhere. Is this fixable?
