Don't forget the "Los Pescados" (or whatever it was called) decoration in Family Fun Stuff from TS2. I remember reading some speculation that it was a not-so-subtle reference to Pescado.
... "Los Pescados" is just Spanish for "the fish" (plural).

Of course, if the object was not fish related, I could see how it raised suspicion. I never got that pack, so I wouldn't know.

I'm also interested to know if everyone else who had the same error had made the same mistake, it would suggest that caused the error. If they didn't, the two things are likely not related.
Not a single marriage to a foreign sim has taken place in my game, ever.

BFBVFS?
This. Your game a splode.

I had the same problem every time a household went to leave Egypt, even after reverting to a pre-vacation save and sending them there at a later time. The only fix was to pack up the family and move them to a new save.
4  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Can't go on vacation ! on: 2010 March 20, 22:25:24
I don't know enough to answer that. One of my sims did have a quest to bring back a crocodile from Egypt and then another in France with the same objective, which sort of sounds like what happened in your game, but a sample size of two doesn't tell anyone much of anything.
5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Can't go on vacation ! on: 2010 March 20, 20:05:02
saraswati, I had the same problem, except it was every time a household attempted to go home from Egypt. The only way I was able to fix it was to revert to a save from before they left home and move them to a new neighborhood, so I'd definitely go with impending BFBVFS.

Yknow that whole magic thing they just invented recently? I forget what its called...savior? savior games? i cant keep up with this newfangled technology, sorry if thats the wrong term

you can use different savior games and they are different and different from each other for different people

Your attempt to be clever might have gone better had you realized that he wants to continue using a single save, and what he's trying to do doesn't require two saves. Instead, you just look dumb.

Having them set to sacred should be making the story progression ignore them. If it isn't, you're doing something wrong. The PerfGain options do exactly what they say, there's nothing mysterious about them.
7  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New Patch 1.10/2.5/3.1 on: 2010 February 13, 05:05:55
He could do what I've seen on other sites:  Have an "Unsupported Obsolete Versions" subsection underneath the Awesomemod board, with the last version of AM for each patch level.

In addition, on loading an obsolete version, instead of the Flagrant System Error that tells you you can't use AwesomeMod there could be a, just as big box saying, "You are running an obsolete version of Awesomemod.  DO NOT ASK for support at the site or we will just laugh at you!"

Note that just placing versions in an obsolete section usually is enough in itself to keep people from asking for support; it prevents it, for example, at NRaas.  But add in a very obnoxious pop-up when they begin and the meanness with which people asking for help with obsolete versions would meet with here, and I really think there would be at worst minimal disruption from people expecting support.
No matter how many notices in any given format are forced upon the user, some people are still going to be brainless morons and completely ignore them.

There really isn't any reason to NOT patch for that long.
8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Bugs in WA on: 2010 February 04, 04:32:59
On the subject of weirdness with the martial arts uniform, I got annoyed by the inability to change a sim's hair for the uniform to a custom one and did some poking around to figure out what the deal is.

As far as I can tell, everything but the clothing on the sim is inherited by the uniform upon learning the skill and changing to it for the first time. I haven't found a way to modify accessories at all, and while you can edit stuff with Change Appearance, your options are severely limited. It seems that only a handful of hair styles are flagged as usable by the uniform. No makeup, no eyebrows, no facial hair. Delphy's CTU doesn't have support for any WA-related stuff yet so you're either going to have to use CTU to set the category as All, or do some hex editing with the content's CASP file. The flag for the uniform is 0x00000080, and you can get the current flags from CTU's Part Details tab.

(Edited for other info on how to fix it)

I completely failed to list my MATY name in the Paypal comment field. Do I just PM that info to Pescado as indicated in older threads?

Continuing the stupidity, how exactly does the title thing work? I'm under the impression that you claim them the next time a drive is open, but I'm not entirely sure. If it's a simple issue of SEARCH MOAR, then I'll go do that.
10  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New peggy hairs. They doesn't replace anything on: 2009 July 23, 01:42:07
Oh really?

I use Flagfox and what I see is 96.31.84.77 and that means:

United States of America ... Tampa, Florida

It seems the host is NOC4Hosts, the website for it seems to be this one:.

http://www.hivelocity.net/

Sure the domain is registered in China but it seems PeggyZone is actually using a USA host.
Hm. Got thrown off by some of the information I pulled up, I guess. If it's hosted in the US, you could probably go straight to the host about it, they tend to have rules in place about what they allow people to upload.
11  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New peggy hairs. They doesn't replace anything on: 2009 July 23, 00:18:26
At which point she can be sued and all expense incurred for the suite will rest on her bank account as well if she is found guilty - but those are also laws within the borders of the USA and I am not sure exactly how this works with the internet either. It is also my understanding Peggy is not in the USA anyway, so that further complicate matters. Isn't she Chinese or am I mistaken?
A whois on her domain name shows that she is indeed in China, looks like her site is hosted there as well. Even if Wes did have the resources to go after her... yeah, good luck with that one.
12  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: is there a way to turn off opporunities or allow the sim to decide themselve on: 2009 July 15, 16:26:02
I don't even really see a point to what the OP is wanting such a mod for. Like Motoki said, sims just aren't all that smart. Their AI does a LOT of really dumb things. You gain nothing from having the game continue to run while you're not there, it pretty much just adds to the time played (and household funds, if you want moar money that bad just use a cheat). They are not like the norns from Creatures, you aren't letting it run undirected to sift out the ones with the best genetics/survival behavior/etc. because that stuff simply does not exist in any of the Sims games. It's completely pointless and is likely to result in them doing something completely dumb.

Hell, what tides is pining for isn't even partially as useful as taping your A button down in the Lethe River area of FF6 with the menu set to remember commands, which loops you through a portion of the map endlessly and farms exp till you either untape the button or something bad happens and you die.
13  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 July 13, 17:22:47
@loopsydoo and others: In order to sell sim-written novels to the bookstore, they have to be in the sim's personal inventory. After a sim writes a novel, the novel gets delivered in the mail the next day. The sim can then take it from the mailbox and sell it to the bookstore, and then the bookstore can sell it. I haven't done this since installing AwesomeMod, so something may have changed, but I don't know why AM would alter it, so it should work.
Tried this, have yet to see the books show up in the bookstore's stock. Currently have AwesomeMod installed, figured I was doing something wrong and got sidetracked before testing on a new game without AM.

I think it's with testingcheats enabled (can't test, my Sims 3 comp is borked) that you can shift click a moodlet to make it go away. I did that a bunch with stuck fire / music / etc.
Yup, although it's ctrl instead of shift.
15  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: What's required for Sims detail set to highest? on: 2009 July 09, 17:07:49
Theres a thread around here that talks about NVidia cards. Apparently the game is not managing the anisotropic filtering right. There are instructions to set your cards. Search on that word, that's how I found it.

I had to turn on my anisotropic settings to be managed by the Catalyst AI, not by the application.
I had a bit of confusion when getting that set up with my card (9500GT I think, can't check now), I could only get it to configure the LAUNCHER instead of the actual game exe. Hitting Add and selecting TS3.exe didn't add a new entry, just kept the launcher selected. The remove button for the launcher was grayed out, so I couldn't even try to remove it. I changed the anisotropic filtering for the launcher to see if that even did anything, and it seemed to actually be affecting the game despite having the wrong exe selected. Textures didn't look like crap when viewed from a short distance away, and the hideous seams along model edges went away. (They also showed up in World of Warcraft, they're actually really hard to catch a proper image of and look a LOT worse than this example.)
Then when I ran the game again later, the hideousness was back. :\ No idea what I need to do to make it stick, nor any way to get the correct exe selected in my card's control panel. (WoW, on the other hand, has retained its non-crappiness. No more holes in things at the center of the mesh.)

17  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The Sims 3 Expansion In My Head on: 2009 July 06, 20:22:29
... the vector graphic patterns ...
Patterns aren't stored in vector format, they're plain old raster images.

The completely backwards progression being made with customization infuriates me, no doubt about it. Not being able to do neat eye textures or have skins that aren't just some pre-set tone is sad, I could even do that in TS1 if I took the time to make all the images for them.
18  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Grampa's losing it a little on: 2009 July 04, 21:10:05
Does resetsim fix it?
Just went to check and see, the one sim who had the stuck moodlet no longer has the problem. Figures. I'll give resetsim a try next time I run into it.
19  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Grampa's losing it a little on: 2009 July 04, 20:34:11
I don't think it has anything to do with dementia, I had a young adult female who also constantly had the Good Music moodlet as well.
I've had the same show up with a pair of adults, and it happened at the same time their stereos started bugging out. I'd attribute the perma-moodlet to a bug rather than an intended effect. One of them eventually stopped having it permanently, I haven't been able to figure out how.
