A fambly with an infant keeps leaving the house while they are inactive resulting in (what I assume) child services taking the baby. This is quite frustrating as I have to exit without saving to get baby back!

Well I must of neglected the HH longer than I thought. The baby was deleted and saved on accident. (This HH is sacred, btw) Is there anyway to force baby back in the HH?

Has anyone else have this problem of missing babies?

When inactive families leave their house with babies or toddlers inside, those babies/toddlers temporarily disappear into the ether until a responsible family member returns.  If you use Awesomemod to swap to a family and find that their little ones are missing, try sending some family members home and see if they reappear.  (I've only had this occur when using Awesomemod functionality to swap directly from one family to the next - I'm not sure if it happens if you swap families via Edit Town.)

This may or may not be why your baby is missing, but I know it confused the hell out of me the first time I experienced it.

I was forced to restart my game, and for the sake of story continuity, I want my sim to have her baby immediately.  I tried Ctrl-Shift-Click, and selected the "Have Baby" option, but that doesn't seem to be working.  I get a pop-up that says "Hours to goal" or something, with 72 as the default number.  What should I do to get my desired result?

That would be one of those wacky undocumented, unsupported debugging commands.  I've screwed with it quite a bit, but as far as I can tell, it doesn't actually do anything.

I keep my pregnant Sims in dresses.

What do you do to control their wardrobe?  I plan plenty of maternity freindly outfits beforehand hoping the sim will use them instead -  but each and every time, it lands me with this randomy generated crap.  It's great if it's the dress, but I get the jogging suit more often than not.

My sims either keep a part (or all) of their pre-pregnancy outfit if it's one of the pieces of clothing with pregnancy morphs, or they switch into an outfit that's sort of similar to what they were wearing. The ones that were wearing pants switch to a pair of pants, the ones wearing a dress to another dress.

I don't have access to my game screenshots at the moment, but I can post some pictures later on. Among the pieces of clothing that do have pregancy morphs are the T-shirt-over-a-long-sleeved shirt top, the skinny jeans, the jogging pants (and the matching top), and the spaghetti strap dress, at least. If you dress your sims in those before they switch to their pregnancy clothing, they should keep that same outfit during the pregnancy, also.

But the skinny jeans and the jogging pants will not have the pregnancy morph, just the shirt.

The jogging pants look fine to me.

I would be willing to bet that if you had a sim whose grandchild, or perhaps even great grandchild was named after them, the picture would occasionally oscillate between the thumbnails of the younger and the older. Or they might just be leftover remnants in RAM. Maybe if you restarted the game or your computer they would go away. as I recall, when Mortimer in my game turned into a teen, and subsequently into an adult, his picture would often revert back to when he was a child. This stopped the next time I loaded up the game.

My adult Mortimer's thumbnail is constantly reverting back to childhood, and Bella does it occassionally too.  Restarting the game/computer has no effect.

Not once have I seen a notification that a household has moved.

This is all I ever see.  Literally half of my town plays musical houses almost every night.

Thanks for that tip, but that ctrl-click did not show me what i was looking for. Let me try to explain further. What I am looking for is an option to click on a sim that is not currently in the household I am running and have the option to "select sim". Once I do this then my control switches from the household I was controling to the household of this new sim I have selected. Ctrl-Click does nothing when clicking on a sim from another household. The previous version of the awesomod allowed me to shift-click on a sim not from my own household and select them and therefore control them

You might also try alt-click.  It's moved around a few times in the various versions.  It's there, though.  One of my favorite features.

I don't know why I didn't think of stuffing her back through CAS.  Asteriskateriskasterisknumbernumbernumber (now renamed Lizbet) thanks you both.

Have you downloaded the most recent Awesome Mod?  Not this morning's, but the one from this afternoon.  I had that happen to me, but while I was trying to reproduce it, the mod was updated so I updated mine (why try to reproduce an error with an outdated mod?) and Sims seem to be getting sane names again.

I'm about to install the newest version and see what happens.

I'm assuming it won't fix names that are already borked, though...?

So I was putzing around in the neighborhood checking out the spawn when I discovered a toddler who caused the game to hang every time I moused over her and displayed an enormous series of asterisks instead of a legitimate name.

Thinking I was being quite clever, I sent her mom off to City Hall to change the little brat's name (her thumbnail wouldn't even show up in the "Change Name" box, but I clicked the empty space and apparently selected her.)  So ma heads into the building and I get this popup:

I can't get to the part of the dialogue box that allows one to enter a new name because her current bizarro name is so long that it heads offscreen in both directions.  I had to kill the game because I couldn't exit the change name dialogue.

I'm using Awesomemod and a few xml hacks (just these four).  I do have the No Duplicate Names option enabled in Awesomemod - any chance that's the culprit?

Also, anyone have a thought on how to fix this name so that the little twerp doesn't continue to bork my game?
