Reminds me of the octopus hair she did not too long ago, except this octopus is from the 80's and comes with a trendy seaweed belt.
2  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Can my game be better if I upgrade my machine? on: 2011 February 12, 05:35:11
Do you know what model of motherboard you have in your PC? Looking it up online would allow you to see what kind card your board can handle as well as what your power supply can do. I currently rock SLi 6800s and TS3 doesn't use my second card. I have to disable it to run the game, but I also suffer lag. I've got a similar setup as yourself, but I have XP Pro. I don't see a huge difference, to be fair.

I think upgrading the video card first by a few steps, depending on your power supply's load capacity, and give it a whirl. I don't think you'll be disappointed. The only reason why I haven't done the same is I can't afford a better power supply. I've got the 9600 in front of me, just don't have the juice for it.

Would it be too much to ask you to post some pictures to show what you're talking about? I was rather curious how this would turn out.
4  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New Patch 1.19/2.14/3.10/4.7/5.5/6.2 on: 2011 February 02, 20:59:14
File decrapified. Successful installation.

Since the last time I searched for decrapifying, there weren't as many tutorial threads posted. I hadn't needed to decrapify anything until just now. Thank you for reminding me about decrapifying as it had yet to occur to me that might have helped. You're help, intended or not, is appreciated.

I will now resume lurking, as stated above.
5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New Patch 1.19/2.14/3.10/4.7/5.5/6.2 on: 2011 February 02, 19:42:55
Not sure if this coincides with the new patches or OLS, but I haven't patched to 1.19/2.14/3.10/4.7/5.5/6.2 and I cannot install the Olympian Physique Set. The launcher states my game needs to be updated to install.

I get that message whenever I haven't decrapified the files first. You are decrapifying the files, yes?

I'll get the honesty out of the way and state I'm too stupid to figure out decrapifying. The board specific jargon, while amusing, tends to be confusing to me at times. That's a known issue on my side, but I'll see about reading through the decrapifying process and test.

My problem with the new set may not be linked with the new patch, but wanted I to mention it before I install OLS and patch. This was in the case of me installing and updating without being able to install still or reporting success.

I'll attempt decrapification of the file, test, and post results. When I'm finished, I'll lurk moar.

Awww! No fun! The avatar made it funny! XD Now this one looks like someone is clutching his pearls a bit too hard.

No, but having a FAQ gives us something to wave around while we clutch our pearls.

Your avatar makes the bolded much more interesting...  Grin
9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Pudding Factory is for downloads: put your lame requests & WCIFs here on: 2010 December 18, 02:06:07
Amidst a project of mine, I was sent searching high and low all over the great expanse that is the internet. I searched through free sites and pay sites alike in search of the treasure I sought, but to no avail. And with my limited knowledge of how these modding tools work, I found myself unable to craft my treasure myself. For this, I am shamed.

Has anyone seen or heard mention of a forehead slider in the works? I can't make proper cavemen without their signature sloping foreheads. Thank you for your time and (possible) assistance.  Grin
10  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Merging mods to increase Performance! on: 2010 December 17, 22:40:55
I've never been able to merge HP hairs. The ones I chose to use don't seem to cause any other problems so I keep them in an unmerged folder.

I was able to merge them back in Nov. with no problems, but I now have them in a similar setup. Thank you for the help, guys and gals.

Mim: Madam Mim was my FAVORITE character from the movie. I get a touch giddy when I see the name as her voice was so awesome and comical. Thank you for accidentally making my afternoon not suck. Smiley

Thanks for the quick reply.

Well, that's a shame, but short of asking the offending creators to fix their hairs, I think I'll cope without.

Enjoy your holidays!

I decided to auto-save after importing the freshly downloaded hairs to delete the offending _KEY files, the attempt a remerging of just those files. When I tried, I got this error:

Againg, I'm not sure if this is useful, but I can consistently recreate this error.
13  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Merging mods to increase Performance! on: 2010 December 17, 03:57:08
Thank you for taking time to try it yourself. I wasn't sure if something was borked, concerning my PC or my S3PE version.

What gets me is that the HP hairs worked fine when merging in early Nov. when I last merged all of my CC. When I added the new hairs (most of what was in the picture was old and worked before), everything suddenly blew up.

If you need any more information, please let me know. I'm glad to help.
14  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Merging mods to increase Performance! on: 2010 December 17, 02:20:29
I was running version S3PE version 10-1104-1243 when I got the errors before, but now I'm using the latest one 10-1202-1426. Still getting the same errors on all the same hairs. Sad

And I have noticed that it's only hairs doing this.
15  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Merging mods to increase Performance! on: 2010 December 16, 22:39:04
After some moving of files and repeated new merge attempts, I've narrowed the error-throwing files down to the ones in the picture I'm providing.

I've taken a closer look at what was being struck out and it seems that on nearly all of these hairs, the elder male and/or female _KEY file part is the resource that's unable to be read. When I removed the three hairs mentioned before, it seems more hairs seemed to 'break'. After removing each hair after that would further 'break' another hair. After clicking OK through 4-7 similar error messages, I get this error message and S3PE won't continue.

Yeah, I do see this complaint here and there about them. I've only tried to use as few of them as possible to avoid issues, but this is the first time I've had a problem. And sadly, it with a few I really liked and wanted to use. Thank you for reaffirming my suspicions.

I think I'll go about quarantining the borked hairs for now. If it helps, it's the Maple, Sister, and I think Piggy hairs. If anyone would like my copy of them to test with (maybe I have a bad download, but I've redownloaded them a few times to try and remove this possibility), I don't mind sharing if it's needed at all. Thank you again, for your time. Smiley

This is the error I keep getting when I try to remerge some hair files. It strikes out the _KEY files, but I'm not sure if it mungs up the functionality of the item. I haven't tested it that far as I've been trying to isolate which hairs are causing this. Looks like some newsea hairs, but not all of them cause this issue. Can someone explain what this error means? If you need further information or screen shots, I'll gladly include them in my next reply. Thank you for your time. Smiley

19  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Crossdressing and Transsexuals on: 2009 June 24, 16:30:18
Well there IS one "skirt" for males. I think it might have come with store stuff. (it doesn't really look like a traditional kilt, so I'm calling it a skirt!)

Yes, I saw this kiilt impersonation and that's what spawned the idea of male sims in drag. Specifically, ala Rocky Horror.

When I first loaded up the game and saw the males now have the full range of makeup options, I knew someone would make crossdressing a possiblity soon enough. It's not really that "out of the norm". There were plenty of people making female to male clothing conversions for TS2, I don't see why TS3 would be any different.

Yes! I've used the makeup on a few male sims to fix oddly pale lips or add some color to an otherwise bland face. I know that the clothes present a possible issue with how they are overlaid onto the sim, but I'm hopeful that it will be an easy-ish time unlocking the sexes assigned to clothing.

I used to have TS2 installed on an older PC of mine ages ago and I do remember the clothing for men was awesome, but not as expansive as for women. I'm hoping that once someone figures out how to unlock said clothing, that I can make an Eddie Izzard sim. That and a fuggin' forehead slider for CAS. Wink
20  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / HEY! NO REQUESTS in the Pudding Factory! - Crossdressing and Transsexuals on: 2009 June 24, 15:48:40
I agree that this might be something odd to ask, but I enjoy adding the stranger bits of real life to my games.

Is there a way to modify female clothing to apply to males? And vice versa?

Is there a way to modify the penis mod to be used on females? I figure since we can make some rough looking broads that a MtF tranny would be easily possible.

And trust me, if I even began to understand how to look at the guts of the game, I would attempt to do this myself because I know it's out of the norm.

EDIT: Oops, I didn't know that came off as a request. I was just asking if it was possible, assuming it wouldn't be for a long while if at all seeing how I understand how clothing works in game. My bad. Sad
21  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Taxi Speed on: 2009 June 24, 00:04:12
Would there be a way to mod TS3 to charge you for taking a taxi?

Not sure what would be involved, but I would think there is parameter in the game that would count as "flag/use taxi" that could impose a fee when activated.

We have discussed this awareness program here at MATY already. The consensus seemed to be that our Tards are altogether worse and well deserving of their Trashcans, scorn, Tard status and special titles, unlike those mentally retarded people / small-L 'tards out there who had the misfortune to be born that way but who can be pleasant to be around even if dim; and, also, This Is MATY, We Are Not Politically Correct, Take Your Butthurt Elsewhere.

If you have an interest in that sort of thing, the Search box will help you find the original discussion about this.

Ah, I apologize. I hadn't considered that this particular commercial would have been brought up here and discussed in length. I had picked up on that the Tard titles and such weren't being used in a fashion to bash those who are actually mentally retarded. Also, I enjoy the fact MATY isn't politically correct and encourages people to think. I appreciate the guidance, Lorelei, and thank you.
23  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: No two children are not boys? on: 2009 June 16, 20:52:03
I have yet to even SEE a watermelon in my game.

Not sure what map you're playing, but in SV there is a tiny beach cove area near a really nice white colored home that has some watermelon vines which occasionally come to harvest status. I frequent the area for bugs, fish, and gems. Not sure if you were deliberately looking for watermelons, but I'd figure I'd mention it. Smiley
24  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Important notice from the GRAMMAR POLICE. Plz read. This means you. on: 2009 June 16, 19:50:45
I can't speak for other areas of the world, however it has been my experience in our wonderful public education system here in the USA that it is now 'politically incorrect' and 'offensive' to call individuals with mental deficits 'retarded' or 'mentally retarded'. As a result of the pansy-ass hand-holding, heaven-forbid-we-'offend'-anyone-by-stating-the-truth attitude children who are retarded/mentally retarded are referred to as having 'learning delays/disabilities'.

When I read this, I was reminded about some commercial I saw about an awareness program to stop calling retarded people retarded. It had some goofy acronym for it. If I can find it or remember what it was called, I'll edit this post. It was just amazing when you watched it. It was so politically correct, you wanted to vomit.

Lots of people think Patrick Stewart is hawt. When I was a 12 I didn't see the attraction, but now as a 30 I do.

When I was 10 watching Star Trek: The Next Generation I thought Patrick Stweart was hot. Cheesy

As an adult, I'm not attracted to aged bald men, but I still think he is still damn fine to look at. Which that leads back to the beauty/beholder crap. I find too many unattractive people (unattractive by societial standards) really interesting and pleasing to look at.
