1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is Death truly random? on: 2005 August 08, 04:56:42
I've got a boring neighbourhood like themaltesebippy: mine dont ever die until old age unless i deliberately do something to make them die. Even when they do get sick they always recover.

I think it's easier to time-sync in a neighbourhood you create from scratch, as you can place your houses in some kind of sequence and make it easier to play them in turn without making copious notes!

I've always tried to play my houses in turn, as I like to time synch things as well, but sometimes you get a bit carried away, especially with a family you really like.

I know what you mean witch, everytime I read about something in my course I always manage to convince myself I have that disorder.

"Hmmm...ADHD...so THAT'S why I cant concentrate in class. Well, either that or the lecturer is boring me by speaking in a monotone voice that can send even a insommiac to sleep."

I have seen this happen with dormies in my game too. But then again I always thought they were dumb idiots.

Buyable fire is the best. Cowplants are always amusing too.

Defintely, socialisation is what having a party is all about.
I was just commenting on an observation in my game that when I include those things the guests seem happier.   Smiley

Everytime I have a party I make sure I get chinese takeout and fruit punch - when I have those two I always seem to get good time or roof raiser.

Even when you need a knife and fork?

I dont know it just looks weird to me.

Note to self: dont put anything diagonal near your fridge.

As for that musical chairs thing Inge mentions, how come sometimes they will pick up a meal that's next to a vacant chair (which doesn't need error forcing) and go sit on another, but not put the meal on the table?  They will only eat from the table if the meal hasn't been moved, otherwise they have to hold it in their hand.  What's with THAT?

This happens to me too and it really ticks me off. No person I know eats at a table but holds their plate. Makes me wanna go there and whack them in the head!
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: who's playing this game? on: 2005 August 01, 06:46:21
I'm currently studying psychology at uni, but I've always been kind of an arty person, as my favortie hobbies are drawing, writing poetry and singing. (whether I'm actually any good at it is another matter!). I have only about the average person's (maybe even less) computer knowledge but I spend a lot of time on them, and the Sims was just one those things I had heard about and ended up getting addicted to!

The only odd behaviour I've noticed with the cake is that sometimes when I place it and click on it, the only option is "Clean Up".  I think that's more a problem with babies ageing to toddlers than anything else, seeing as that's when it happens.  Sometimes I need 3 cakes to get it to work.  And, of course, I am only using the cake in the first place because the stupid baby refuses to grow-up any other way.

This happens to me too, not just with babies. Toddler to child seems to cause a lot of problems for me as well. I usually end up having to use the Insimenator to grow them up.
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nannies Invasion...:) on: 2005 July 30, 04:56:12
Nannies are simply the most annoying things in the game (apart from the cheerleaders). I never hire them anymore, it's not like they help anyway.

I feel so unloved... I was online at the time and I didn't get a PM  *sniff*

Thanks for the link Gali. Hopefully Maxis will take notice of this and do something about it!

So in another words it's just like the clean installer but crappier.
Thanks that confirmed my suspicions.

ah, Homestar Runner. What would we do without it?

This challenge looks amusing to say the least. I'll give it a try the next time I get a chance to play the game.
