When a sim drinks a bliss elixir, then is put on supreme commander, the macro uses the motive manager to get rid of the positive "blissed" moodlet. Nerf, please? Very irritating; I wanted the LTH bonus of a higher bar.

What Feeble Metalkattian Thing is that?
Not something I put in, dude. There's some douchebag code that says if sim has pumpkin in inventory and has been left alone for a nanosecond, s/he will whip that fucker out and start carving it. So much hate. Also, now that we have poison apples because magic, I want my damn poison wine.

Look, kids, all he's doing right now is proving concept. If he can make the concept work, then he can fork with the tone issues after.
It's a good start; I look forward to see what more can be done with this... and hopefully, a not-shiny-at-ALL version will be available once the underlay principle is perfected. *hates shiny skins*

I am feeling judgemental today, so I shall begin my judging this morning, and let folk rest before Amber announces whatever new contest is for December. Category: Most barf-inducing walls.Everything by that Agent420 person. The non-food ones give me epileptic twitches, and I don't even have epilepsy. But, the ones that disgust me most are the food walls. Seriously, it looks like someone ralphed up their college Godfather's orgy. Category: Most Pointless Outdoor Stuff.First Place: Dewshine's recolours of those fugly abstract art roof things. Seriously, my sims would go blind looking at them. Second Place: Pointlessly Shiny Rock by SimAddict 99. This kind of crap is why I stopped using his stuff. It never made it past my routine fug purge. Category: Most Annoying House-Type Stuff.First Place has to be Glittergirl7189's Portal of Peace recolours. I already hate this door (and the other "groovy" items) with a burning blue passion, as they are useless to normal homebuilding, and then she just went and made them worse. Death to the Groovy Set! Normally, I'd say congratulations to the winners, but in this case, I prefer the "SCREW YOU ALL, YOU MAKE AWFUL STUFF!" approach.

Finally, an excuse to use my natural "BAH! HUMBUG!" to make fun of people, and posting means I won't have to judge. TSR: "A tasty kitty. Put under your tree and watch it grow." Yanno, in my house, cats are not food... nor are they spray painted. They're mobile space heaters. "Candy Cane ~ the christmas clown to help your sims celebrate the winter festivities" ... I don't think so. I can do JUST fine cursing winter without the help of ugly-ass clowns. "Recolor of Dgandy's "Lovers Suite" in a peppermint stripe just in time for Christmas." Uh, yeah, because I always repaper/recarpet the room and change out the furniture for blocky weirdness for one damn month out of the year. Right. The obligatory Buntah entry. Poor textures, improbable pieces, visible asscrack, and yeah, that looks REAL warm. This is a woman who obviously does not know what 'winter' means. (Or 'good taste,' for that matter.) "Here's a fun candy cane lipstick for the holidays. Available in all ages and both sexes." Because, yeah, like that's really going to stay, like we're really going to take the half-hour it takes to get it to look like that (for the ten seconds before it goes all mushy). and like a GUY is going to take all that time unless his three-year-old daughter is sloppily painting it on him. Uh-huh... because candy really *does* float and hover... Better yet--cubist candy, in all shades of WTF? Oh, I've *always* wanted to sleep in a bowl of freakishly-large candy corn... not.

Update: It is the Preg and Servo Change Appearance Pack. This is what caused the problem about which the FoJ blew me off in OYBI. Heh, well, we must remember that all these hacks are in fact non-awesome and will only continue to get more so as new EP's come out. Thanks for the info. Oh, I'm not really pissed or anything, Amber. Just a small nose-thumbing at the Irksome One. I'm going through and checking out a bunch of modded objects along with the mods themselves, so if anything else (aside from the damn clothingtool) freaks out, I'll make mention of it.

<snip Motoki's Hacks>
Update: One or more of these are causing my game to crash. Every time I scrolled the clothes in buy mode the game would come to slow crawl and then crash to the desktop; the last time it even caused some weird graphic effects all over the screen.
I'm testing these right now. Somewhere in here is the one that was giving me fits about fried chicken, for some weirdass reason. Buyable Work and NPC Clothes worked fine, and I'm loading the game again now to test the Maxis adult clothes for A YA & E. Update: It is the Preg and Servo Change Appearance Pack. This is what caused the problem about which the FoJ blew me off in OYBI.

I've been through my entire downloads folder trying to figure out where I might have a "Fried Chicken Menu" mod or object, but honestly, I can't find anything. Attached is the errorlog--I click on the clothing rack, and the error pops up before I can select anything else. Am I reading the conflict right?

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Two questions on reinstalling OS
|

You can easily get rid of a lot of unnecessary registry entries with a program like Registry Mechanic, and old program registry entries for programs you no longer have can be removed with Registry Cleaner, you just need to look through the list and check any that you are sure you no longer have and remove them. If this is all that is wrong with your PC, I'd definitely try cleaning up the registry before resorting to more drastic measures.
Oh, this is not optional. It will be done whether I like it or not. I'm just trying to find the best ways to minimize headache as much as possible.

1. If everything goes perfectly, it won't touch anything on your hard drive. But that's a ginormous IF. Back up, and if he says anything about it, tell him to get stuffed.
2. You'll have to reinstall all your programs, including Sims.
1. Okay, I'm not insane in my desire to back stuff up. I've had far too many BFBVFS to view the thought of not backing up without trepidation. 2. Sounds cool. I'll have to go through tonight and make a master list of stuffeths I absolutely need to get back once it's all done. *click* Baaaah.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Two questions on reinstalling OS
|
on: 2007 September 21, 13:52:06

These are very small questions, and hopefully easily answered.
My brother in law wants to reinstall my OS without wiping any data from the hard drive. He insists that doing this will not touch or harm anything except clearing out the registry, nixing hidden temp files, and a few other system stuffeths.
1. Is this really going to not touch my stuff? I'm betting it'll be a darn good idea to back up all my used files somehow just in case there's an "oops." I seem to be the Goddess of Entropy; everything except weaponry breaks when I try to fiddle with the insides; if it can fark up, it will.
2. If everything goes well, and I don't lose any data, will I have to reinstall the Sims to get it to work again, or will it run afterwards without futzing? I already know I'll have to spend a lot of time putting codecs and players and other stuffeths back. Just didn't know if this'd be added onto the list.
