Thanks everyone for their constructive feedback!

And I sincerely apologize if my stupid question, or use of words, or even my nick has bothered any of you in any way.

Have a nice day guys. Obviously some people here desperately need it.

2  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / A neighborhood free of ugly NPC? on: 2011 April 03, 07:36:43
Hello. I am thinking about starting a new neighborhood lately, one free of ugly NPCs...
I ain't quite sure how to do it but here's what I plan:

1. download a neighborhood made by other users, which the whole town doesn't have any pre-made families
2. import only the families I created / downloaded, let them grow on their own and hopefully their offspring wouldn't deteriorate that much...
3. however service NPC will still pop up on their own, which I have no way to control how they are created...
4. also the NPC from other neighborhoods, such as in China/France/Egypt, would be out of control too.

It seems that when townies are generated, their faces are created from a certain in-game "database" or something? So that they always share similar facial features, which makes them look very ugly and like siblings, or even clones...
Is there a way to make the NPC creation skip this in-game "database"? I remember back in the Sims 2, someone created a "face template" thing, which includes a lot of better looking faces, and can make the NPC creation to base on this template. So the game will pop up better looking townies. Is there something alike for the Sims 3 too? Wink

my game actually got faster after using the FPS limiter.
without it the FPS can get real high when i am not moving the camera, which you won't play the game that way.
and FPS can even drop under 10 when the camera moves from one sim to another who is across the town...

now the FPS is more constant.
even moving the camera across the town can keep it around 10 to 20. Wink
thanks.

Damn you EA: Three patches now. What's going to happen when we're on EP8?

So I have decided to skip those stuff packs.
Will give me more trouble than fun.  Cheesy

I got a similar problem. But it only happened on the sims back from an adventure.
Things I noted:

- sims back from adventure have been generated a Double, and the Double will be considered as "homeless" (at least that's how twallan calls it)

- everything seems normal until twallan's SuperComputer clears out the "homeless". that deletes the Double, and also cuts off the Real sim's connection to everyone.

- the Real sims will then have no family. everyone becomes friends only. their family tree panel got no one else but only themselves, with their picture grayed out, like dead sims.

Well I sent those sims out on adventure when AwesomeMod for WA was still in beta.
Not sure if things have been fixed during the moment.   Wink

That's odd that "Read Something" can appear, because the action isn't even supposed to be available in the latest version if there are no unread books. If you have only old books, you can reread them only manually by picking the book specifically.

mmm but then the "Read Something" does keep popping up.
If the family contains skill books that my bookworm sim is not qualified to read, will those books be considered as unread books and trigger the "Read Something"?
Or the same case if my other family members contain (in their inventory) books that my bookworm sim hasn't read? (Like books obtained from career opportunities.)

Does Awesome mod TOTALLY prohibit sims from rereading books?

Now my bookworm sim always goes to the bookshelf with the "Read Something" command, but then her command got killed automatically.
And after a second or two, she pops up with "Read Something" again and command got killed and looping...
If I wasn't paying attention, she will be standing in front of the bookshelf for a few hours or more, and doing nothing.

I bought her new books but she finished them quickly.
Later I sent her to the library but it seems like she finished all the books in the library too...

I really like the Harder Jobs / MOAR fight feature! A simple yet very brilliant idea.

Btw I've got a few questions out of curiosity:

1. how many quota does each job level have?
is it like generally: level 10 - only 1 sim; level 9 - 2 to 3 sims... and so on.
or Pescado actually did tailor-adjust the quotas for different professions?

2. if my sim has outranked the boss, and there isn't a higher rank sim at the moment, will a boss be assigned out of nowhere? or my sim will remain "boss-less" until another sim reaches a higher job level?

and if my sim will remain "boss-less", what if his job has "Boss" as one of the requirements?

3. if my sim has reached the highest job level, does it mean he will never have a boss, until he's demoted?

again this Harder Jobs thing is very brilliant and "lively". thanks Pescado.  Wink
9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Is it only my sims, or they all actually like to flirt with anything that mo on: 2009 June 12, 02:50:01
OK I guess I hit a new low.
One of my sims even tried to flirt with his enemy, right after he was slapped.

Don't think that even makes sense.
I am getting a no jealousy mod.

There is such a thing?!!? where?!!

Well let's name them Sim A1, Sim A2, and Sim B. and it's a love triangle. LOL

A1 and A2 is a couple, and I only control them.
Then I actively made A1 flirt with B. So A2 became enemy with B.
A1 and A2 got their relationship seriously dropping.

Once 3 of them were on the same spot. I tried to make A2 start insulting B. Then B auto slapped back.
But then A2 auto flirted with B!!
(Of course B didn't accept that. And this action made A1 lose his relationship with B too.)

I was totally like WTF?!
Besides this love triangle, I sometimes switch households, and found some non-flirty, non-commitment issue, non-hopeless romantic sims having multiple romantic interests too...
I created those sims and put them in the neighborhood. So they don't have any preset relationships to start with.

I mean I like seeing sims building up different relationships on their own. But not like this!

I dunno why but my sims seem to be over active when it comes to flirting.

Turned the free will to highest (default) and sims always flirt with each other, as long as their relationship is close enough, maybe even a bit lower than becoming "friends".

It's kinda annoying as the couple I am playing keep doing romantic actions (and be flirted as well) to the new friends they meet. And the couple's relationship keep dropping whenever I wasn't watching.

Guess I could go hunt for no jealousy mod. But then I'd prefer them having a more rational behavior - NOT flirting with anything that moves.
