1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Get Mail in NL? on: 2006 June 24, 09:26:51
Plz advise me further of 'Get mail' in NL. Sofar I've just utilised it to pay bills only. But it has any other utilities?

I heard from someone, Sim can receive Love mail from Sim-lover, is it true? lol. If yes, how come?
2  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How can my Sims meet aliens and vampires ? on: 2006 June 24, 08:53:14
Further on, I created a neighbourhood, then attached it to Downtown (NL Ex)., so should I move my Sims to existing Downtown lots (NL Ex) in order to have chance with vampires?

3  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How can my Sims meet aliens and vampires ? on: 2006 June 24, 08:43:17
they meet aliens by being abducted while using the telescope - lots of night time star gazing.

the vampires will show up on downtown lots at night, also.

Thanks for your advice.

But roughly when do my Sims have chance? They spent couples of weeks and maximized the logic skill by using telescope but nothing happened. And, my Sims still haven't seen any vampires, though they were managed not to sleep at night.

By the way, The Sim just can meet alien when he or she is alone at night? I heard male Sim can be pregnant with alien, lol. But, sofar I haven't seen it with my Sim. Huh
4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / How can my Sims meet aliens and vampires ? on: 2006 June 24, 08:24:17
I tried to set clock for my Sims to live at night, but they haven't met any aliens or vampires sofar. I have all of the EPs and the latest version to play is FFS.

Appreciating any advice.
5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Can't I build any dorm in a uni neighbourhood ? on: 2006 June 10, 06:38:26
Thanks for your instruction. Maybe I'll set up a new Uni neighbourhood with more comfortable dorms for my young sims Smiley
6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Can't I build any dorm in a uni neighbourhood ? on: 2006 June 10, 05:38:42
Have you tried making a dorm on a residental lot, then using "changeLotZoning" to make it a dorm? I tend to make my own dorms that way, or at least edit current ones so they're less annoying.

Either way, I too would appreciate any links or downloads of any decent dorms. Primarily, any of them that look nice on the outside and have big dorm rooms.

"changeLotZoning"-Is it a new program ? Plz advise.
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Can't I build any dorm in a uni neighbourhood ? on: 2006 June 10, 04:02:05
I realise that there're some bad layouts in some dorms. E.g bathrooms're on the 2nd floor while the bedrooms're on the ground and the students have to go upstairs everytime. I tried to build one for my own, but completely unavailable.

So would appreciate it if anyone has any dorm lot in good layouts. As all of u can see that it's better to let the young sims stay in a dorm than a house for rent.

All of you is right.
Just diabled the bad hack and it seems everything 's gonna well now.
Maybe no more deaths or haunted stories.

Thanks again for saving the young sims' lives.
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Is FFS worth every penny? on: 2006 June 09, 02:38:04
I've just had FFS for somes days. I bought it at 19.99 thru gamespot.
But I didn't find anything special after installation except for some clothes and decorations, wallpapers,.. which I could download from mod sites.

The most expectation for an EP is something abt gameplay, but nothing.
My idea is FFS is so expensive.

I often have dormies kick it, I assume it's from "nodormieprotect"  Before that, they would get stinky, etc, but they wouldn't die.  Now, they don't eat, and eventually they die.  If I catch it, I might make them selectable, and make them eat/shower/go to the bathroom.  I always delete the tombstones/urns because the ghosts bug me

Thanks for your opinion, mate.

Trying to delete 'nodormieprotect' and let's see if anything's improved.
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: La Fiesta Tech-The campus of the GHOSTS? on: 2006 June 09, 02:11:43
Finally I would find the reason causing the deaths of some students. It's that there weren't enough rooms for everyone. There're only 8 rooms in the dorm, but usually there're 10-12 students there. Further, the AI was so bad because the students looked so lazy, so they suffered from bad hygien. But I wasn't faced with such problem before installing OFB and FFS. Or, it's due to the installation of the hacks?

I tried to lock the dorm's main door ('Allow the households only'), but the students who claimed their rooms there couldn't enter the dorm. And, it seemed they didn't go out for the classes.

Any solution is appreciated.

Heh, that reminds of my dorm, Cranky Steve's Haunted Whorehouse, which had an entire row of tombstones and was completely haunted. I ran some MATY sims through it originally, in the stories that were eaten by Hurricane Josh, featuring Fat Head, the Brynne, Hook, and a Kewian.

Cranky Steve's Haunted Whorehouse?
Would you please attach it?
Probably, I will let my new sims spend time in that haunted house. It sounds the next haunted story will happen again.

For my story, I advise all of your young sims spend time in La Fiesta Tech/Desert Dorm (8-Room) to pass what my sim passed. That dorm might be a haunted one.
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Who can help create a cute sim-baby? on: 2006 June 06, 03:37:59
I wish someone would help create a cute sim-baby (toddler, children, teen ages) as my cute avatar.
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: La Fiesta Tech-The campus of the GHOSTS? on: 2006 June 06, 03:10:11
Yep,

My's sim locked room was opened quite often and closed autonomously though I didn't see the ghosts got thru the walls.
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / La Fiesta Tech-The campus of the GHOSTS? on: 2006 June 06, 02:59:50
Dear my sims,

It was to be university time and I sent my cute sim to La Fiesta Tech Uni neiboughood. I let him stay in the 8-room dorm. I was strange that the students looked very lazy, they rarely did their assignments and left their homeworks  unfinished everywhere in the dorm. Ridiculously they were so easy to fall asleep at anytime and suffered from bad hygen problem.  The kitchen/dinning room was dirty and food was spoiled all the time.

My sim was scarced when he saw some students there were exhausted and expired and the graves were left on the floor (some students died at the same time). And the ghosts were just wandering at night in the dorm. I let him move all the graves, but the thing still happenned again to the newcomers.

I thought there may be something related to hygen/virus, so it may cause above deaths. I let my sim call the service (maid, exterminator) but the thing was the same and there's nothing changed.

I tried to mve my sim to other dorm but I did want to challenge my sim. Finally he would graduate with C+ grade! But, my God, he escaped from the terrible place.

May I call it the dorm of the Ghosts? Or my sim just passed from Dracula's place? Shocked

Thanks for your useful info.
Kindly advise me of the linik to download that hack (Lot Debugger?)
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Am I wrong with my Sim's way to run his biz? on: 2006 June 03, 11:12:48

There is already an "Own 5 Top-Level Businesses" LTW.
[/quote]

Thanks for your info. Can I choose it directly for my Sim's LTW or it's just able to be chosen randomly?
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Am I wrong with my Sim's way to run his biz? on: 2006 June 03, 04:00:02
So, in conclusion, my Sim must spend his time with his employee all the working time and he's just able to earn money by that way only?

So, what is the actual role of his manager?
The manager just controls the employees only  Huh Embarrassed ::)and he just works if his boss is besides him? lol
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Am I wrong with my Sim's way to run his biz? on: 2006 June 03, 03:44:54
My Sim's able to earn money when he's present at his biz together with his employees. I mean he must wait until the employees (including the manager) fulfuill their working time, then when he comes home and checks in a biz, his manager says 'Everything is great. You can enjoy a day-off'.

But, if my Sim doesn't go to his shop, one message 'Your shop hasn't made any money today. It's probably time you went in and shook the things up a bit'. And my Sim doen't earn any penny that day. If he checks in his biz, the manager just say 'I'm sorry but we're doing fine work, why could you try to phone again?' and the thing is on and on like that.

Am I wrong with my way to play?
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Am I wrong with my Sim's way to run his biz? on: 2006 June 03, 03:09:14
For the benefit of Tim_Morgan, who seems to not really know very much about basic gameplay, I'll also point out that the needing to visit often is entirely intentional on Maxis' part and not a bug -- it's quite clearly described in the strategy guide. Doesn't mean it's not still annoying (although I can see why they did it), but it's useful to learn how the game is intended to function and how it actually functions before messing around with that.

You are right, maybe.

But if so, you must work so hard with OFB as I see the gameplay is not comfortable. Maybe, the sims can just be small shop-owners in OFB. They can't make any biz tycoons. Imagine, if your sim owns 5 or 10 bizs at the same time, should he visit one by one everyday? I tried to play with The Landgraab IV, he owns 2 bizs, one electronics shop and one coffee shop. I started feeling tired with his bizs, should  he must visit 2 shops and wait until his employees finish their working time and come home then? If so, your sim's life will be getting so hard if he becomes a biz tycoon. Meantime, he must try to do something to fulfil his lifetime wants? Wow, hard job and we must play hard game!  Hoping Maxis would release a patch very soon or change the gameplay.

By the way, loading time to move from this lot to that lot so often isn't comfortable. I bet that many players prefers to follow the gameplay by fulfilling the sims' lifetime than coing along with OFB. It's more comfortable simply.

Further, for OFB, some lifetime wants as 'Own 5 bizs' or 'Private biz reach 100,000 simoleons' must be added. As you can see now, OFB for the sims now is just one of the ways to earn money, not related to their lifetime aspiration at all (except for the only one-'earn 100,000' if I'm not wrong).
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Am I wrong with my Sim's way to run his biz? on: 2006 June 02, 07:35:24
If actually 'running biz at home' for community lot is unavailable, I think better to 'start home biz'. You can see it's more easier (no loading time to community lot, sims can sleep at home and do what they wants). But, it seems that we can't hire any manager for home biz.
25  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Am I wrong with my Sim's way to run his biz? on: 2006 June 02, 07:23:55
I think this hack may help with that.

Thanks, mate.

But I think no hack is needed if 'running biz at home is available once a manager's hired' is mentioned in the tutorial. If this thing is not effective, maybe there's something wrong, thinking a new patch for OFB must be released very soon.
