Well... Ive just replaced the cracked exe with the original, installed AM and started up again... Still crashing to desktop. I hoped this would sort it too I'm going to try one last time to do an uninstall and re-install it... This is a fucking pain in the arse. Did you remember to use the uncracked TSLHost.dll too? Yup. Looks like WA will remain uninstalled untill I can figure something out. Thanks for your help though EDIT - Panic over... it now fucking works!! I uninstalled WA, ran the base game, fine, re-installed WA, put the framework files into both folders, except the cfg file, ran it again and wallah... we have an updated, working game with the expansion pack installed...
Now after all that hassle, I dont even want to play the pissing game. Im sick of the sight of it... ARGH

Don't use cracks. Use Awesomemod instead.
This worked. Fixed my crash to desktop when loading a saved game/new game. I.Am.She, did you try that? You have to run the game through the .exe, and not the patcher this way. Nope, good shout... Will try this tonight when I get home! Ta Lena My game was also crashing to desktop when I tried to create or load a game. (I have a retail copy of the base game, but an Arr'd copy of WA.) Replacing my cracked WA .exe with the original (and using Awesomemod to bypass the CD) also fixed my crash-to-desktop issue. Editing the Resource.cfg file and moving the contents of the DCCache into the mods folder worked for all my downloaded content (purchased or otherwise), with the exception of Riverview. I tried copying the contents, so it was in both locations as Simsample suggested, but it made no difference. I then installed Riverview via the Launcher, and though it said it installed properly, it is not in the drop-down menu for town templates. I have not tried downloading Riverview from the exchange, and probably won't bother. If I can get the CAW to work, I don't need their templates anyway, I guess. Well... Hmm, I can't seem to be able to place a cross-section of road. I'll select it and only a regular road appears. Ugh. And are terrain paints *supposed* to look so choppy? Can't seem to figure out how to soften the edges.
And is it just me, or is CAW running slow or taking a toll on anyone else's CPUs? Seriously, my computer has been able to handle most everything so far, but I load up the create-a-world tool, and the thing starts humming as loudly as can be. Not to mention switching between tools or windows in CAW seems to take forever, gives the appearance of freezing for 15 seconds or so. Surely that program can't require higher specs than TS3 itself....!
If you set the fall-off or whatever it is, the edges of the brush fade out, making it less choppy. And yeah, when I played with CAW, my laptop practically set on fire... and it's not a shitty laptop, I can easily play TS3 with max settings on everything without lag.

I just patched my base game and WA. Unfortunately, my game crashed to desktop in main loading screen. I moved AM from directory and the game is able to go through loading a family and it crashed again. I try to move all mods and run the game without CC but no luck. Is there any fix for this?
Main loading screen as in the first one, or the one where you choose a saved game/new game? Mine keeps crashing at the load/new game bit and I haven't found a way to fix this yet... re-installing hasn't helped, and there's no CC, mods or anything in my files! Before I moved AM, it crashed at the first one. After I moved AM, it crashed at loading a saved game Edit: Also when I run the launcher, it says cant connect to EADM although I connected to the Internet yup, same here with the launcher... thank god its not just me... what windows are you using by the way??

At least everyone's is just a custom content issue... I can't even load Sunset Valley, on a clean install, complete with no mods or CC... It just crashes at the loading screen (the one where you actually create a new game).
Anyone got any ideas to throw my way?
It won't be to do with Windows 7 would it? Because I have no bloody idea...

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Hate asking for files... need VideoCamera.ini.

I apologise now for even making such a request... But I've deleted the backup of Videocamera.ini I saved for such times like patching... Great. If anyone has a clean, non aikea guinea modified file, available to upload, I would be very happy I don't fancy arring a whole 5.5gb just to get a 1.74kb file! Please feel free to tell me to piss off for being so cheeky... No offence will be taken
