Nice try, try harder. This entire category is about TS3. Again, read the forums and you too can understand what is going on beyond your little self absorbed world. Had you even said something about helping people with a sluggish TS3 in your first post it would have made some sense. Instead you come in and say what you did when there is a thread about people having problems with overheating because of the FPS in TS3. Go crawl back in your hole and hide like the rest of us n00bs should be. Edit: I love when they edit their post as you're replying. Additional edit for spelling.  In response to his addition, the above is from Googe and Tomshardware page. The suggested method is to leave Vsync on and change the refresh rate of your monitor until any tearing you see is gone. Limiting FPS = smoother game play in most cases. Notice I didn't say all. Try harder! |

I've found that turning off Vsync significantly increases performance on any pc game I've ever played. Some say it causes graphic issues but I've never noticed any, just a faster game.
I might be a Noob and sheep but at least I'm up on current problems and happenings with TS3. Maybe you should go read a few other threads and learn why he posted this. Then learn, as I'm am trying to do, not to open your mouth and put your foot in it up to the hip. What the fuck you talking about dickwad? I can see why they should turn Vsync off to help increase their overheating problem. You're just another dumbass that is trying to cover his own ass, n00b. Learn to read before you spout, fuckwad. Butthurt much? Turning off Vsync does not cause overheating you fucking dumbass butty boy. You're just some little geek prick who thinks he knows it all. You know jackshit. I've never had an overheated card or cpu and I always turn off Vsync. Your momma done teached you wrong boy. Whatever you say, you're wrong so don't waste yourself. Suck it up and learn. Vsync matches your monitors refresh rate/frequency, with a 3D applications frame rate. In other words, It doesn't let your frame rate go above your monitors refresh rate. 85 Hz. = 85 FPS 100 Hz. = 100 FPS and so on. TS3 has a problem with frame rates running high and causing problems with overheating. This isn't about other games, n00b, this is about TS3. I would question your comma use in that sentence, bee tee double u. What next, arguing that we should adopt the new spelling of "cooky?" There is some license to use conversational speech constructions, lolcat speak, and other "non-standard" forms of phrasing. You have to know when this is appropriate in the given cultural context. Similarly, you might want to consider the appropriateness of strangers coming into your house to criticise your table manners. I have, this time, picked up my fork in "deference" (and I use the word advisedly) to your sensibilities. Pray don't make me use it. No, I screwed up using "Yet". I will pay for it I'm sure. |

One question : does anybody know how to get an omniplant at home ? I've found the one behind the science lab and feed it some fish, it worked well, but does not seem to give seeds... Do I have to keep looking for special unknown seeds and hope to get lucky ? (like for the money tree, life plant and those strange flaming fruit ?) Thanks.
The flaming fruit can actually be found at a residents house. It's where I get it in my games to start my plants. Life plant has always just shown up in my inventory. |

There's also a science career opportunity to bring an urn or gravestone to work and have it restored.
I've done it 3 times, and it said the experiment failed, but it turns the urn\stone into a playable ghost.
I'll kill some more of my neighbors and see if it ever succeeds.
After you accept the opportunity and bring in the first stone\urn, an option for "restore ghost" appears on the science bldg.
Thank God I don't live next to you. Yes, I would be intrested to know if it ever works. I have a level 10 in the science field. |

I like how they say they're using TS2 objects and show one. Yet in the same breath say they have added all the channels and such. How can they build an editor with out the code? If they're building it based on the TS2 model man are they in for a suprise. If they're doing it from TS3 then they're well ARGGGG!

People keep showing up to my parties who did not RSVP. I invite eight, ten to twelve show up. Thankfully, people bring food.
Invite the uninvited into a room... take the door away.. and start a small fire. That will teach them for crashing your party! I hate gate crashes, in RL my GF had a party, and these 3 wankers rocked up, invited themselves in.. stole shit.. and pissed off when we called the cops. There is always 3 in the crowd! Losers! Grrrrr! Hahahaha, wow are you people evil. Wall them in and let them starve! No bathroom bed or anything! |

I forgot to mention earlier there's two tracks to the criminal career. Criminal Mastermind and Master Thief. At the end of the master thief one you get a statue of a gold fox holding a money bag.
Ohhhh Nice! Me wants! Hehe. That's one thing I have noticed/liked about TS3, that even though there is only 12 odd careers, there is like 20 career paths. just don't fall into the trap I did... I had the Lifetime wish of becoming the Secret Agent of whatever.. And at Level 5 or something a box pops up, and asked what track I wanted to go down. So I just clicked the random one, Something CSI related... And I never got the Lifetime want, so had to quit, and start again, Lulz! (User Error) Forensics Analyist and Secret Agent (I'm pretty sure of this but I could be wrong.) were the choices I had in Law enforcement. I have had three law enforcement Sims. |

Another thing you might mention is with any job that has the option of doing extra work:
Like Law Enforcement = Special Investigation Case
Science = Independant Research Project
Sounds like these are just job-specific variations on "work extra hard" I think every job has that in there somewhere. No, if it fails or works it will change your Sim back to carry on as usual. I have watched this very closely. I have gotten a raise when it said my case succeded and it switched me back to the casual work. I had to change it back to the investigation one. It also has the Work Hard selection too. |

Let me throw a couple things in here.
Law Enforcement:
At level 6 or so you get a Police Cruiser, and the chance to branch off to either Forensics Analyst or Secret Service. (I think thy were showing you can make branching jobs. I don't know if there are any more that do this.)
Make about 2.3k a day with my level 10 with my FA.
You also gaing the ability to question people, this allows you to learn all their traits. Level 6 I think.
When you take FA you also gain the ability to Forensics Study on the computer which rakes in $600 in about 3 or 4 hours. Nice to have when preggers.
When you get to level 4 you can also apprehend burglers, dunno how this works as I haven't had the chance yet.
You can work out on job as long as you have Athletics skill.
Another thing you might mention is with any job that has the option of doing extra work:
Like Law Enforcement = Special Investigation Case
Science = Independant Research Project
These if they work out can do one of two things:
Raise your rank or Give you cash raise.
My level 8 Law Enforcement (FA) got a couple raises and I think it carries over to the next level.

Til the boss figures out your lining your pockets and Biff comes a calling and you end up with some new cement shoes!  Well seeing as I am the Emperor of Evil and also the owner of the criminal workplace, I'm safe unless my sim develops a paranoid schizophrenic streak and sends hitmen after himself. All in all it's going quite well in my current game - just need to decide whether I should get the moodlet manager or the collector finder thingamajic next. God I love reading the thread here I get so many chuckles  Thanks for the laugh. |

Has anyone else seen the rubber ducky yet?
I didn't notice it anywhere in the buy menus, but one of my sims hooked it while fishing. If you set it on the edge of the tub, the sims will float it in the bath while taking a bath and get a lasting positive moodlet from it.
Maybe it's in the buy menu and I missed it, but I think it's more likely that there are a few household objects that you can't buy. My criminal sim has brought home a bunch of lawn gnomes which are different from the buyable lawn gnome and resell for $1k a piece.
I purchased one from the grocery/general store, along with "World's Brew Bubble Bath". Haven't tested it yet, but after putting it into my shower/bath, I got the option for a 'Wicked Bubble Bath' for my evil sim. Edit: I'm also in the criminal business, and the work-related bonus (Your sim working on a job and puts a little 'extra' on the side for himself - random item(s) to your family inventory) is superb. I almost always get some very expensive piece of art. Selling those 12k statues or 8k paintings really gives a boost to your overall income. I've heard from other people with different careers, and I'm pretty sure the criminal career is one of the most profitable. Yes, when they're sleeping or at work is the best time to mess around with another Sim. Just make sure you're done before they wake up or get home from work. Hook I had a set of sim brothers going, and one of them nailed every girl in town with impunity. The other, however, would get chewed out by his polyamorous brother any time he so much as glanced sideways at another female sim. Turns out I had tried out the "lets go steady" romance option while playing the second brother, and the philanderer-in-chief was good buddies with the 'girlfriend'. I actually had to reload at one point because the brothers would fight any time I left them alone. Recovering from -100% relationship appears to be almost impossible. Any friendly action they took would just piss the other one off. Yes, takes a long time to get the -100 up. I broke up a husband wife and the wife is still pissed after about three weeks of game time. Though she is only at -50 or so now  , i just made sure they didn't interact. A bit harder in your game though. Something I wanted to know, can you now get females in the hood pregnant even if they don't live with you? Oh, easily. Oddly enough, "Try For Baby" appears to have exactly the same reaction as "WooHoo," regardless of the circumstances (e.g. married sim at a house party with another person), so it's no more difficult to get a sim knocked up than it is to get them in bed. If you impregnate a female townie, you get a message 3 days later that you're the father of a new child. The game names the kid automatically - you don't get to pick. You get a positive moodlet and some initial 'cuddle kid' desires, but other than that, there are no effects other than seeing your progeny reflected in your family tree. I had my evil sim make a run at all of the married townies, just for the lols. Also, infant aging appears to be permanently set to Normal. My life length is on epic, but all of my sims bastards have turned into toddlers within a few days. LoL, I can see a child support mod in the future or maybe EA will release it in an expansion hahahaha. |

Yes, the Ducky is in the Outdoor stuff I think under games. Also where the B-day cake is. You can also buy it from the grocery store. |

My only complaints so far / questions(sorry if they've already been mentioned):
Ultra Speed: It's so slow! I have to take out a book when everyone is asleep or at work. This isn't just my computer, right?
It works fine for some, not at all for others. I suspect it's your computer. Mine is fine. I meant to comment on this. In Sims 2 fast speed was like 8 in Sims 3 it is like 4, FOR THE CURRENT ACTION OF THE SELECTED SIM. Total BS I say, if I turn it on fast (4) it should stay on 4 until something eventful happens or I turn it off. Or there should be an option of a higher speed for the action of the Sim. It gets quite boring waiting for work to be over or them sleeping if you don't have another sim to mess around with. |
