1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Really Long Save Tiime on: 2009 August 27, 21:31:11
My save times have been very fast so far, not more than 30 seconds I believe. However I try to keep my CC to a minimum for now, because I don't want my TS3 to blow up like my TS2 did. I just went and deleted most of the custom hair again, most of it looks like crap anyways. So I just have a few basics (Awesomemod, ISM, NoIntro, NoMosaic, and way too much of the store stuff). Well, also, my notebook kicks ass.

That's great, and sounds easy enough. However there are several DynamicAvoidance entries. Do I set the Field Radius to 0.06 (if I want it halfed), or do I have to half all values?

Yep. Just change all of them. Make a backup copy before you do just so you have the original values and in case the patch decides to get picky about modified files.

I have tested this for a few hours now, and the kitchen situation has definitely improved. Thanks a lot!

It's not necessary. You modify the "DynamicAvoidance*" settings yourself in file C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin\Sims3.ini

Either half them from the defaults as JBoat did or just set them totally to 0 if you don't mind them completely walking through each other.

I too have turned the DynamicAvoidance to 0.0 on my game.
I simply cut the values in half (from defaults) which is quite realistic enough, and alleviates most of the traffic jams I see in-game.

Is there a chance you might share this in form of a mod? With nearly all other annoyances having been covered by now, this one still doesn't seem to have been covered, and kitchen crowds are driving me crazy.

You know, I had really hoped that "enablellamas" would have given everyone llama heads or something similar.  Grin

In any case, new bug...or something to report.  KagomeSim had her baby (which turned out to be a boy, and thus he was named Kouga and given the insane/neurotic traits for the hell of it), and when his bladder got low enough, I changed his diaper.  And changed his diaper.  And changed...you get the idea.  She went through the motions sure enough, but the bladder level never filled.  Instead I gave up and pottytrained his little ass instead of letting him become a stinking mess.  Roll Eyes
Hm, maybe this is not a bug. In TS2 the toddlers didn't need changing of diaper until the bladders got all the way down, then they went in their diapers, the bladder got way up again, cuz ya know, now they didn't need to go anymore, then the diaper was full and smelly, and needed to be changed. This then did not have an effect on the bladder, cuz it was all in the green again, but on the hygiene. So maybe next time try waiting till the bladder is all up again, and the hygiene is down, see if changing diaper does anything then.
6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Story Progression Toggle: Is it borked? on: 2009 May 22, 07:37:32
It's pretty RIDICULOUS for the lifespan slider to only affect the sims you are playing (I did read that it's a per-sim setting) because the whole POINT of the whole hood getting on with their lives is so that people are growing up at the right time to match your in-play sims.  If not, we're no further on than we were.  Unless of course we always play with default lifespan.

This made me think. Has anybody tried to see if the Story Progression button is made to be set per household as well? Maybe Story Progression and/or autonomy has to be adjusted in every single household to stop the random babies and fluctuations. If not, then hmm...
