1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Wojtek's Hairs on: 2012 January 07, 15:19:09
I loved Wojtek's hairs too. I didn't keep all of them either, only the ones I might use. Here's a megafile link to ones I kept:

http://www.mediafire.com/?i54bi624ioeu1g7

Wojtek-hair contains five individual zip files: BG for base game, AMB for ambitions, LN for Late Night, store (which are linked female conversions of a couple male store hair styles), and store-kids (which include some of the same styles already provided, but I chose to get separate female and male kids styles so I can more easily tell which gender the neighbor kid might be).

You could also choose to download just the zip file you want as each was uploaded separately to the same wojtek hair folder.

I don't keep the jpeg files though, so you'll just have to guess which you like or delete the ones you don't like after loading them all.
2  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / new patch 1.24 on: 2011 July 25, 16:23:51
There's a new patch out.

Sims 3 programs link:

3  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2011 February 02, 01:12:30
I've seen much the same thing happen when sims get promoted at the end of a shift that starts before midnight and ends after midnight (i.e. sims in the crime career and sims in the medical & law enforcement careers who get called in to work).

What I've noticed:
- it doesn't matter if the day would be a normal work day or not, the game thinks they are due at work
- if they don't go to work, their performance meter drops until I send them to work
- if they do go to work, their performance meter doesn't rise, unless the shift extends beyond midnight - at midnight they start gaining performance
- at the end of the shift I have to cancel the work interaction otherwise they stay at work

I have AwesomeMod and Twallan's overwatch and master controller.  All EPs / SPs up to Late Night, all fully patched.

Thanks for the response. It happened to him again and I left him at work until after midnight this time. (His shift starts at 3 p.m. He's in the cooking career.) Unfortunately, his meter didn't move and he didn't get paid at all. (I thought I might trigger a new boss or a co-worker, but neither of those happen when the game doesn't recognize a work shift.)

I'll go back to an old save and make sure I send him home earlier.

Added: No luck. He didn't get paid if I had him leave right on time or a little late or really late. I finally used familyfunds to give him the money he should have earned during his shift.
4  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2011 February 01, 15:46:04
I'm playing the Crosby's of Riverview. He was just shy a promotion at the end of his shift, so I called up the boss and invited her out. He asked for,and received, a promotion and a raise. As a result of the promotion, he then had the next two days off work. Yet, the next day, his work timer counts down to his previously scheduled work. (The letter "W" for Wednesday is greyed out, but the time until work reflects the time remaining as if it's a work day.) If he doesn't go to work, the work meter drops into the red and he gets the red "missing work" notice even though no notice of work or carpool appeared. If he goes to work, the social and fun mood meters reflect appropriate actions going up if he chats with co-workers or relaxes. However, the work meter doesn't raise at all during a complete shift and if he works on cooking, his almost maxed cooking point doesn't complete. He does get paid for the shift.

I don't have any work mods. I have twallan's overwatch and master controller in addition to AM. I have all EPs and one SP: HELS.

I do have a saved file with him at the library studying cooking about 30 minutes prior to his work shift.

more: I have to click him off at the end of work or just puts in overtime. The timer did reset to normal after his shift though.

LAA is fixed, but I still need to put the game and every EP/SP on the DEP list. You'd think it wouldn't matter if you added just a stuff pack, but I get random crash to desktop otherwise.

Before this new patch I had the late night trash chute and mailbox, from MTS website.

Now after the patch the mailbox wont show up in the buydebug mode section,I have also reinstalled late night without the new patch and downloaded the mod from MTS,but still the mailbox wont show up.

I got that mod as well and removed it when I patched. I thought that the patch would fix the issue, but couldn't find the community mailbox when building new apartments (though the pre-patch apartments I had built still retained the mailboxes I had placed in them even without the mod loaded). So, I put HugeLunatic's mod back in my packages folder and find the community mailbox in the buydebug "?" section. Maybe you just overlooked it? Otherwise, just clear caches and try again because sometimes voodoo and EA are just unpredictable.

Have you tried saving, exiting and reloading the game?  It looks like the EAxian bloom bug, which often occurs after placing new objects and/or moving existing objects, which often resets after a restart.  What do you expect from EAxis?

I bulldozed the lot and still had the glowing orbs there (floating in space at third floor level), so I went to the main menu and loaded the earlier save of the game and then placed the library version on the lot. The library version didn't have the glow bug, so I didn't have to restart the game. Yeah, I don't expect much.

I am rebuilding all the skyscrapers in Bridgeport as high-rises. I placed a copy of an earlier build of the green glass apartment (where Rake lives) on the lot where the Hemlocks live. I wanted to adjust the placement of the building by just one tile (because I am very picky). When I tried to slide the kitchen wall in one tile, I got a message about not being able to do that because of the cabinets. So, I manually moved the cabinets and cupboards around so I could slide the wall in. I didn't notice anything strange at the time because I was focusing on walls, windows, and wallpaper. After finishing the placement adjustment, I saved the building to my library and saved the game. Then I went back to change the active apartment so it would be ready for the Hemlocks to move back in. This is what I found:

When I move or delete the cabinets, it looks like this:

What happened there?

Do you have Twallan's Master Controller? If so, did you try the "stylist" option on the Sim menu?
14  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The Neverending Pause on: 2010 October 18, 17:59:35
Here's my saved game with reproducible results:

http://www.mediafire.com/file/koaclandox7qdxr/SV%20AdamThomas.sims3.zip

I have the EPs, but no SPs. The freeze will occur at 2:43. The clock, sims, and any screen directions/movement will freeze. Plumbobs will turn and woohoo confetti will fall. The family is in Sunset [played less than two Sims weeks (or three if you count the six days in France)] and resides in the normally empty lot next to the Altos.

I use large address aware, cff_explorer, and fpslimiter and have a quad-core Vista system with 8 gigs of RAM.

I do have some mods, such as Twallan's master controller, overwatch, and debug enabler; Rainbow Brite's skill challenges XML tweaks; things like nointro, gymbufffixed, and ghost/simbot reaction remover; and, of course, AwesomeMod. I do really limit the things I add to my game (though my package folder does contain over 300 files).

I didn't try any fixes yet (other than clearing the four main caches) as I wanted only to provide a reproducible error for others to look it.

Also: It happens to be a Sunday (for the person who stated that this normally occurs on a weekend) and I had to alt-tab and end task through the task manager. Resetworld did not stop the 2:43 freeze when I tried it on a "saved as" file. The freeze happens right after the pop notice about the boy earning simoleans for the latest chapter of the book he's writing.
15  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Toddler Problems on: 2010 July 21, 16:58:53
I had an adult reading a book for work and had actions queued for when the book was done, but the adult was rereading the work book instead of moving on to other tasks. I have always had to cancel the reading of skills books unless they actually finished reading the whole book. However, in the past, I haven't had to cancel the action on medical journals and the other books they get at work to improve their job performance. They would reread the book if I didn't have another action queued for when they finished. Yet, if they had an action queued that seems to spur them to put the book back in inventory when they finished the first read. Might some change to inventory workings have affected this?

I haven't seen any problems with reading books at all.  Are you sure it isn't another outdated mod causing the problem.

Edit: I put in Twallan's new master controller and overwatch mods (which replace his old supercomputer) and double checked that the other TSC mods were the latest updates. After deleting caches and loading up an old save, I used Twallan's master controller to send the original Sim, who had read/reread her work book, "back to work." (She had an immediate promotion at work and was sent home early, losing job performance. Then the next day, she still couldn't go to work as it hadn't been 24 hours yet.) Another Sim in that household still had a book to read for work in her inventory. I queued use the toilet next and she did NOT reread the book. So, either it was just a weird glitch when it happened before, the other Sim was corrupted, using Twallan's master controller somehow fixed the problem, or a later version of AwesomeMod corrected it. I might still have an older save where I could double check the original Sim before she finished reading; but, as it appears to be back to normal, it doesn't seem worth the effort.

Those cache sizes change whenever playing though, depending on where the Sims went and what objects and Sims were loaded since the last play. The world file that is located in the program files under Sims3/gameData/shared/non-packaged folder is the one stays consistent (I think). It shows 76,424 for Riverview and 78,403 for Sunset on my computer.

Is the refrigerator bug back? I always buy the second most expensive fridge because I like its looks better than the most expensive one. The Sims had a party and three guests brought food. I (not the Sims) put the food in the fridge right away by grabbing and dragging it to the fridge. The pizza guy just put the pizza on the ground and stood around listening to the guitar playing until all the guests had left. I directed one of the Sims to put the unopened pizza box in the fridge. Later, the pizza guy actually asked for the money for the pizza. The next morning, one Sim got a slice of pizza and started to eat it. Then it went bad. All the leftovers from the party that had been in the fridge went bad. Is this a result of the latest AM coding or that old EA fridge bug back again? (I normally place my legacy family with the chef reward fridge and replicators, and I thought that fridge bug was fixed a long time ago.)

I must add that I did temporary place the fridge in inventory as I was adding onto and rebuilding their house after the birthday party ended. (I needed to add another bedroom for the birthday boy and decided it was time to add a kitchen, living room, and second bath as well.) I checked that the food was still good when I took the fridge out of inventory and put it in the new kitchen. Yet, it didn't stay that way beyond its normal shelf life (as if it had been left out of the fridge). So, placing a fridge in inventory appears to be the culprit, but I just thought I'd ask.

Here's something I find strange. Look at the value of the furnishings with the bookcase in family inventory:

Now note the value when the bookcase comes out of the inventory:

Notice if I remove all the books, that the value of the furnishings now includes the cost of the bookcase. The total furnishings cost is slightly more than that shown in the first picture for the same items.

That's some weird bookkeeping!

21  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Ambitions: What's borked on: 2010 June 17, 23:56:00
I think Ambitions broke my sims career histories! ...

Since I cannot test any pre-Ambition saved games that were built without those hacks, I am wondering if someone who has any pre-Ambition saved towns, who also has Ambitions installed, who has sims with career histories and who built towns without those hacks can check and see if their sims still have their career histories or are they gone also? ...

I wonder if this is happening with all pre-Ambition saved towns or is it only happening with pre saved towns that used core mods.

... And if it is not mod related but Ambitions related, then perhaps EA can be made aware and will fix it in a patch.

I don't have Ambitions (or WA or HELS either, for that matter), but the latest patch broke the career histories. This has been mentioned on the EA site for the last week, so EA should be aware of it. Whether they will fix it in a patch is another matter.

As I play with AM installed, I can't personally test your theory. I can say that others on the EA forum claimed they played with a straight EA game. So, it looks as if EA broke it all on their own.

On that same note, my jack of all trades not only lost her career history; but after making it to level 5 in yet another job, her lifetime want icon does not reflect 1 of 4 completed even though this latest job is now registering in her career history.
22  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 1.2.7/2.7.7/3.3.11 TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 12, 20:36:15
I put the 6/11 AM in my 1.12.7 game and loaded an old save. The career history is missing for the Jack of All trades who was currently on her third full-time job. No numbers are reflected on the LTW icon and the history icon in the career tab is greyed out.

Also, one opportunity to lecture at the school, stated to expire on the following Thursday, had a pop-up stating it was harsh to disappoint the kids and it disappeared from the Sim's opportunity tab directly after loading the saved game. It was Friday afternoon in game, so the Sim should have had almost a week yet to accomplish it.
23  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Quick question about updating on: 2010 May 06, 20:46:30
First, try redownloading and make sure the new version overwrites the old. Also, check that your config file is current if you don't use the defaults.
24  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2010 March 20, 22:48:33

as soon as someone in the household aged up, I'd get an E12 when I tried to save - even with the CFF explorer.  I could load the last good save, play the aging up part, and save fine, but it just got to be a real hassle having to do that every time.  And there were other problems, all which started after I got WA.

I'm not sure, but I think I'm still using it (CFF).  Even deleting caches, including the world cache files, didn't stop it.  I just finally decided my game was hosed and started over.

Well, I don't have WA, but I did have problems saving after one girl aged up. (It was a huge house full of Sims and ghosts that I am still playing.) I decided it was the cc hair that I put her in after she turned to a child. When I quit trying to give her the cute hair and just chose an EA style, I could save. (I also emptied quite a bit of stuff that I was hording in their backpacks, and I was finally able to delete multiple copies of a corrupt guitar.) So, if your game is set to allow more than 2 gigs of RAM, there might have been an issue with some clothes or hair involved in the age transition.

I usually don't leave the game running in the background (as I notice the Sims minimized window). I try to just play for a few hours at a time, and I delete the caches before starting a new game too. We really have to put way too much effort into playing this game, don't we?

25  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2010 March 18, 16:56:50
And I had to start my hood over (yet again, because all the crap the patches did to it finally started giving me error 12s constantly) and even with a fresh start it did it.

Those pesky error 12s quit for me with CFF_Explorer allowing more than 2 gigs of RAM for game play. I think I had to reset it after one of the patches (but it might have been that I restored my computer to an earlier date to undo some other update). Could lack of available RAM be an issue for you?
