TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Faceless Sims

I have a problem that I haven't been able to find addressed anywhere. Apologies if this has been addressed and I just can't find it. My sims presently are showing blacked out faces. The females it's JUST the face, but the males it's the face, arms, neck, hands, everything, and the body appendages turn the colour of whatever clothing they're wearing. Below are two images as examples: I've removed all downloads, all hacks, everything, and the problem persists. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the replies. I have Targa's backdrop, but none of them show up as a hack with Clean Installer. Turns out, after removing my entire Hacks folder, and grabbing new files from the hack list here, it works now. I must have had an outdated hack, even though I had thought I'd updated all awesome hacks. Thanks for the suggestions.

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Frozen Sims on Dates and at Parties *fixed*

At first I thought my College Greek house was borked, because every time I would throw a party, sims would arrive, then as soon as the party started, freeze in motion. Just standing there. They cannot be interacted with, they can't be asked to leave, nothing. I made one selectable to see if there was something stuck in his queue, but there was nothing. Soon as I made him selectable, he unfroze and started autonomously interacting.
I have all SP and EP's. I updated everything that had an AL update, took out everything that didn't. Everything was working fine after installing AL until recently. It was after the alfixes hack was released, cause initially I thought that might have broke it, but I had the same thing even after removing that to test.
Now, I thought it was just parties at the Greek House, but then it happened at a birthday party I had on my Sims lot. This isn't just one lot or family, I've tried it on several. I also had a Sim go out on a date with another Sim, and the same thing happened there. The date froze on the community lot, until I made him selectable. After that, he autonomously interacted on the date.
Towards the end of the date, they both had wants to woohoo in the car, so I directed them both to sit in the car, but once there, there was absolutely no interaction available for woohooing. At the end of the date, I couldn't ask the date back home, cause he was selectable. Upon making him unselectable any itneractions dropped out of queue and he stood there frozen. The date ended well due to my intervention, but this problem stinks. The date was a Townie. The parties had both playable sims from other lots, and townies invited to it. I'm not sure what the problem is.
I DID try using the bat box to fix on in world and off world. I didn't have boolprop testingcheatsenabled on though. When I DID turn that on then use the bat box, I got a gazillion items with errors, audio errors, app errors, errors with sims, with objects.
Hit Break Point Primitive.
That seemed to be the same error on all the object items, including like garden plot, orchard trees, pond fish.
I don't know if one has anything to do with the other, but using the bat box didn't fix the problem with sims freezing in place on dates and at parties.
Any help would be appreciative.

Did you really need to double post? Especially about info that is readily available in the Podium.
My apologies. It was two replies on separate areas of the subject, and since it was asked in this thread, I replied in this thread. I hadn't seen it in the Podium, and all I was trying to do was be helpful. Perhaps I should return to lurking mode. Again, sorry for offending anyone.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Gameplay: How do YOU keep track of sim lifes?
|

The only time I keep track is for whatever family I'm actively blogging. In this case it's my 4 year old Primogen family, which started off as a legacy challenge and continues to be a legacy story. I have a Primogen family tree on Tribalpages.com, but it's missing a lot of stuff. Mostly I throw the main line in there for a traceable path. I also have a small notebook so I can keep track of a few things. Their college major, graduation level (Summa, Magna etc) what NPC they married, and the NPC's original last name and who the heir is. I have another notebook for jotting down story possibilities, or bits that I want to remember for future story entries. I've been blogging the Primogens since Generation 11 (which was the Gen 10 heir from the first, non blogged Legacy challenge) and now I'm on Generation 23 of the same family line. So my tribal pages helps me immensely, tho I only put their names. There's a few photos but that got mindnumbingly tedious, so I quit bothering with putting pictures in there. I also have a little notebook for keeping a short summary of each chapter, so I can refer to it when writing the next one. It has the chapter header (G5-ch12) and what filename I'm on. I name each chapter alphabetically a1-1.jpg and so on. Each html file is in order, so it helps me keep track. primogen1, primogen2.html etc. And there's 2 or 3 lines about what happened, because my Remembering software has some borkiness to it, and rather than tax the software, my notes help me keep from uninstalling it completely

Tsarina - Your avatar freaks me out. I swiped at my monitor twice before realizing there's no creepy crawly there. Same here. Beat the crap out of my monitor with a flyswatter. I've been hearing that quite a lot. I guess I could switch my avatar to something less horrifying if it's that bad. Edit: are you silly, entomophobic people happy now? Are talking muffins less disturbing to you? Huh? HUH? I liked your buggy avatar! It fit this thread nicely, don't you think? No really, now that I know it's not a real bug I don't have a problem with it. A BIG bug, yes, I'd have problems with. DO NOT WANT big bugs. Or spiders. Or snakes. Not even pixelated ones. I don't mind spiders and snakes, but no cockroaches lol. But Tsarina, I wasn't complaining. I got a huge laugh outta the fact I actually swiped at my monitor a few times to find it's just a moving pixel buggy you didn't hafta change it. Things that are bugging me: -closets only work for "dress for work" (*someone said this has something to do with Squinge's Preg.-wear-anything, and that there's a fix, but I haven't been able to find it. Could someone please post the link?) There is no fix for Squinge's mod, however I believe there is another mod that works in a similar fashion (I think it might be by Dizzy). Why are you running AL with outdated mods? http://www.nectere.net/smf/index.php?topic=1140.0It's the one titled magic-al1d.zip .. if you click on it, and instead of save, click Open, then pull only the global-allow-pregnant-outfits.package .. it replaces Squinge's outdated preg mod. I put this in, zapped Squinge's and voila, my closets work for something more than woohooing in. There are other mods in there I found useful, but keep in mind they are Non-Awesome. The preg mod doesn't conflict with anything that I've noticed so far though. Moderator edit: double posting fixed

I played the same neighbourhood for three years before it inexplicably broke due to operator error and lack of backups. My legacy family is technically on Generation 23, which I started them in Dec 2004. Fortunately I had extracted my toddler Sim before that happened, for just such an emergency, and used him to create a new neighbourhood and a new legacy, but I still count it as an ongoing family story I have additional neighbourhoods for different things, but my Legacy remains in the same one, and I"m backing up regularly now, so I don't lose everything again.

Hey, I imagine that pregnancies and agings will have the tenants pooling outside of your, unable to break in. Am I right?
Maybe I need to set the lock on my door, but my Sim went into labour, in the teeny little bathroom in her trailer park home, and her spouse, four neighbours and the landlord swarmed into that teeny little room to witness the grand event. *headdesk* Tsarina - Your avatar freaks me out. I swiped at my monitor twice before realizing there's no creepy crawly there. For those who are having the Gray Man effect... have you noticed if it's just playable families? Non playable neighbours show up full colour, inside an empty apartment, though if you go visit, all the furniture shows up once your playable sim arrives. However, if there's an apartment building with two playable families, the OTHER playable family turns up gray, and I can see all the shadowed shapes of their furniture, and each and every Sim. When my Sim goes into their apartment, he or she turns gray also. Freaky, they should turn normal when my active Sim goes inside. I love the new clothes. Hate umpteen hairstyles just for a barette or hair tie colour change. Sparkly witches, but I hate the green that the evil witch is. Looks like the flat texture of a mesh that got stuck in my downloads. Do Not Like. I'll have to go find me those default replacements that everyone keeps mentioning. Squinge's pregnancy wear any clothing mod breaks the closets. But Dizzy at the Laden Swallow has a similar mod that works with AL and doesn't break the closets. Don't like not being able to place stuff outside the apartment on a lot. Edit: To add more stuff, to prevent multiple postings

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Tombstone/Urn repetition
|
on: 2007 October 19, 12:04:27

I haven't been playing a lot, and I don't have BV yet, but in playing with Seasons over the last week or so, I am discovering an interesting problem. Each time I go back into the main lot of one particular family, I have a brand new tombstone or urn, in the place that the only Sim died, as well as duplicates of the two cats that died. So I have about 3 urns for each instance now.
I could just delete the extra urns, but it's still a bit of an annoyance.
On a different subject, with pets, I am finding myself greatly annoyed that every single household member constantly wants a puppy, a kitten or both, even moments after adopting one of such pets. I've spent the last little while searching for possible fixes, or others mentioning this problem/annoyance, but have seen none. Is there such a fix? And if so, could I be directed to it? Much thanks.

I had to come out of lurkdom to applaud your Legacy beginning. I'm an avid Legacy player (Generation 9 of my University legacy, aka, Generation 18 of the same family since I started Legacy) and I read tons of Legacy stories every day. This was great fun, I like your writing style. Thanks for sharing.

Awesomeware / The Scrapyard / Re: No NPC Spam - Experimental Barista Fix

I must bow down to JM for being more awesome than me. I've been searching for a solution to my missing baristas and useless espresso bars for days now. I haven't installed this just yet (I JUST downloaded it), but seeing ZephyrZodiac's posts stating that this fixed the problem with the missing baristas as well as the endless spawning of baristas, I wanted to post my thanks before I install it and reboot my computer. So thanks.
