That logic would only make sense for fun objects, though.
Yes, I think only to fun, maybe to food as well - If you eat pork chops for every meal, soon you should get tired of them and your health will suffer. Comfort and bathroom would never depreciate - in fact comfort may appreciate - you get used to your chair and your chair form fits to you.

I'm starting to think the problem is that they haven't incorporated any sort of diminishing returns on fun or advertisements of objects. If the game had the advertisement of an object to a particular sim decrease the more the sim used it, then the sims would move on to something else, or to other parts of the house/business.
It would also make the new object that you drop in the most interesting thing around - causing the whole family to want to use it (nothing annoys me more than purchasing a cool new expensive widget for the family only to have them never touch it because they can't tear themselves away from shuffling cards alone for the millionth straight hour.)

One computer left on 24 hours a day will cost you $115—160 in electricity costs a year and dump 1,500 pounds of CO2 into the atmosphere.
I'm just curious, do they mean that the computer itself dumps CO 2 in to the atmosphere or do they mean that the generation of the power to run the computer dumps it? Well, regaurdless, a human produces a lot more CO 2 than that and they get all angry when you turn one of them off.

Also, First Kiss only happens if you instruct them to have their first kiss. If they have it autoomously, you don't get it, although for some reason you do get the woo-hoo one when they woo-hoo autonomously. Just as well, otherwise I wouldn't know who was up to what when I'm not looking.
Sims woo-hoo autonomously? I didn't know that they would do that.

Thanks for the verification. I'll run run the pie counter longer and see if anyone will bite. I have had success running the restaurant alone with marginal profit, though I did make a decision early on to have my PC be the chef, which, as you point out, means that the restaurant cannot function when my PC is not there. One catch that I noticed with the restaurant is the lack of relavent badges (the only badge is sales for the hostess) means that none of the NPCs get adequate badges to become manager when using Relavent Wages without adding something unecessary like a cash register.

Has anyone had any luck combining a Nightlife style restaurant with anything else? I originally tried combining a restaurant with the bandatron for a nightclub, but that causes the restaurant to stop working. Then, I attempted to add a bakery to a restaurant (my thought is that an NPC could come in and buy a cake or pie and/or eat at the restaurant), but nobody ever buys anything. They just eat, maybe look at the art or use the toilet, then leave.
I appreciate any suggestions for better results.

As for the elder woman formal outfit, I had the same corruption in the game with the same exact outfit. It looked pretty weird at her daughter's wedding.

This is The Sims for crying out loud! Haven't you all noticed those handy-dandy wind power plants they have in their neighborhoods (well, at least my sims all are powered by wind--especially the not-so-neat ones )? And the obviously hydro cars they drive (as in they NEVER run out of gas)? I don't think those are actually windmills - how can they have 24/7 wind power when not even the slightest rustle of wind ever blows through the trees? I think those supposed windmills actually use motors to turn the blades around! Another sim conspiracy.

In my game when a boy uses the toilet standing up it sounds like a xylophone going up and down the scales. Is that normal for the game and if so, did they do it on purpose? It obviously doesn't cause any problems, except me looking around to try and figure out what is making this weird noise.
