I've put Cyjons Bigger Bills mod in, just a couple of weeks ago. Seems to be working fine for me, and I have a heavily modded game.
I don't know if the first bills matter, I didn't notice, but i get a mailman everyday and it does seem like the sims get bigger bills now.
Good Luck.

Does your social family have enough money to rent the apt's furnished?
All social groups start off with $20000 and if the cost to buy the furnishings and rent the apts is more than that, they won't be able to afford the furnishings.
eg. 4 members of the socialite family, each want to rent apts with furnishings for $6000, then only 3 of them will be able to afford the furnishings... the other will get nothing..
This just happened to me the other day... even though in Simpe it said they still have thier $20000.

I was hoping i wouldn't have to bulldoze it... I really like this building. You MAY be able to save the base template, if you kick everyone out, strip it down to a residential lot, bin it, and replop it. MAYBE. For future reference... what exactly do you mean by that? I thought rezoning an apartment lot back to residential was a VBT. I've already trashed that lot but i was creating another apartment lot last night and had some weirdness. It was a 6 apartment unit, each had 3 floors, the top 2 floors became apartments when the apartment townies moved in, but the main floor didn't become part of the apartment. I didn't use the floor dividers or fences or any tricks in the units. This is a very old residential lot from about 5 years ago, that i thought would make a good townhouse complex. Each unit had an apartment door to the outside... no other way out of the units. The only thing i can think of, is when the creator first made the lot, i think they used "moveobjects on" to place stairs and have them land in front of the main door. I'm going to try the same lot later and see if using the spiral stairs instead would make a difference. It's this lot if you're curious http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=65433 again... thanks for the help JM. Update: Seems the game doesn't like non-Maxis arches between the entrance and the rest of the main floor... Stupid Eaxis.

Thanks Jm,
That's what I thought. I think I started it's corruption, early on in the history of the building, when I moved the first family in and decided they needed a couple of extra walls.
I was hoping i wouldn't have to bulldoze it... I really like this building.
@ rufio I appreciate your trying to help me but, I've lurked around this site long enough to know how to do most of the troubleshooting with my game. I was just hoping i wouldn't have to take the next step and burn the building down. If you had read my post more carefully you would have seen i mentioned 3 other playable families as well as the one throwing the error. Also, just taking out hacks won't fix a lot that's become corrupted. As per, Jm's warnings, I don't change the lot zoning on an apartment once it's been zoned.

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Apartment Lot throwing error
|

I have an apartment building in my game that's now decided to start throwing errors at me.
The attached error log is from one of the apartments... happens every time I load this apartment. For now, when I load the apartment, I choose "reset" but the error isn't going away. I've loaded the apartment about 4 times in the last few days and it always errors just before the playable screen.... sometimes it throws the error when I'm on the lot and I choose to save the lot.
There are 3 other playable lots in this apartment lot. A couple of times now, when I've loaded one of the other apartments, the game crashes.
Is this a serious error? Is the entire Apartment building broken? Would it fix it if I choose "delete" next time the error shows up? Tight pants?
All ep's and sp's except holiday crap.
Thanks for the help.

I've been playing the Reloaded version for the past few days with very few problems, except for the extremely long time it takes to save a game sometimes. Tonight I thought I'd try the Fresh Mountain hood, because the fugly's in Sunset Valley were hurting my eyes. I made a sim in Cas and after a couple of days he got lonely, (aaww), sent him down to the park and to the store for cookie ingredients, (aaww), when he came across this interesting gent... (If I could figure out how to post a screenshot without it being huge, i would) anyways... The partly invisible gents name is "Harrison Ford" he was reading a paper on the bench. My sim was overcome with curiousity and just had to meet him. The interesting thing is, I couldn't click on the invisible parts of Mr. Ford... I could only interact with him by clicking on the visible parts. He eventually got bored with my sim and grabbed a taxi and left.... but it's the only borked sim I've seen so far.... unless this was done intentionally by Crazetex when he made the hood. Other than this, i'm actually enjoying Sims3, but there are some definitely annoying behaviors i've noticed already. That "hand on hip" has got to go, and also the extremely loud burglar/fire alarms.

I agree with Lerf.
I don't think i'll be playing Sims 3 until hacks are made to do something about the inevitable stupid behaviors that Ea will add to keep the 12's happy.
A sim peeing themselves loses it humour after a couple of times. I'm sure they'll add a few things to the game to cause massively disruptive, obsessive behaviours. (Myshuno anybody, the coffee cup hike).
No thanks... i'll wait untill the fall to install it, when there should be a few fixes/hacks and patches around.

but... but... I want both... The problem is i don't have an issue with APO.... it's Apthack that is causing the problem. Since Apthack has nothing to do with doors and Inge's 4 key lock has nothing to do with apartments there shouldn't be a conflict between them... but there is and i can't have both in my game... I want to keep Apthack in so i can have Apartments in my UNI subhood, and have inge's 4 key lock cuz i like the simples. APO is confuzzling.

When i have both of these hacks in my game I get this error...
If i remove Apthack or Inges ijAddGender4KeyLock_AL I don't get the errors...
I really want to be able to have both in my game. It just drives me crazy, unlocking a door so a visitor to the lot can come into the residence and having every other sim on the lot wander in and make themselves at home... stupid sims.
Thanks Pes.

Could you use Inge's prison mod and make a Santa sim and the elves inmates in North Pole Prison, with visiting hours? I'm not sure, not having used the hack, but it sounds like it could be one way to have a Christmas lot without having the themed sims wandering around the 'hood.
I've done something like that with the asylum. I've given all the inmates a prisoners token so they can't wander onto any other lots. Works well, but one of them has become the focus of telescope snooping, so he does show up on a lot, argues and then gets zapped away, but that's the only time i see any of them.

This has always been my trailer park of choice, http://www.insimenator.org/index.php/topic,14365.0.htmlDoesn't take much to make it into an apartment type lot, because i hate building to. This is the lot i learned Pescado's lesson on... I fixed it up, changed it to Apartment, moved sims in, found out I couldn't use room dividers in apartments, moved sims out, changed it back to residential, removed dividers, changed back to apartment, moved sims back into 2 of the lots, then all hell broke loose. Neighbours would come out of trailers with almost all needs in red, all lost their jobs in one day, including my other playable on the lot, and it kept getting worse. I bulldozed it and i'm just recreating it now.... but it makes a great base lot.. Enjoy

I was using that same hack too until a couple of weeks ago....
I like it for house lots but not apartments.... it would take the maid 2 or 3 hours to go from the 4th floor down to the compost bin and back up to the apartment... because they would use the compost instead of the chutes...
If they needed to do that a couple of times while they worked, then it would get expensive and, of course, the maid would leave without finishing all the work because it got too late....
stoopid sims...

Yes, Macro-Pay-Bills will automatically compensate for a sim's attempts to move the bills more than a tile away from the mailbox.
But... that would require intervention from the Supreme Deity and the Supreme Deity is lazy... Need a shiny!!!! ...and Pong was awesome...!

Thanks for the help J.M. and Marhis.... installing alfixes and taking out payatbox seemed to fix the problem.....
When i tried to work on this problem before, I had uninstalled alfixes because it conflicted with something else... don't remember what at the moment... I remember taking out payatbox too, but that didn't solve the problem at the time.... but taking payatbox out and putting alfixes in solved it this time.....
Of course now i have stupid simmies tromping up 4 flights of stairs just to put the mail down.... small price to pay to use apartment mailboxes again....

I've been getting this error since i installed AL....
"No bone on model corresponding to name in routing slot on destination object"
Whenever I send a sim to get mail from the apartment mailbox i get this same error... happens in user made and Maxis apartment buildings... doesn't seem to matter where the mailbox is located or what the sim is doing at the time. When the error happens the mailbox will revert to the residential box for a moment and then change back to the apartment box.
I'm working around the problem for now by using the autobill payer from SimWardrobe.... but i'd like to solve the problem instead of ignore it... i haven't even played an apartment long enough to pay the rent yet but expect that will be a problem too...
The only hacks i have for mail are from the DC and payatbox... I've taken those out to test but i still get the error... It's probably tight pants but I'm afraid of causing irreversible damage by testing the hood without all my CC hacks in...
I have all ep's and sp's except holiday crap.
Thanks...

I use most of the hacks from Seasons DC.
Most of the Uni hacks are turned off because i don't have a Uni subhood.... and other ones are turned off because of real or imagined conflicts with other NonAwesome products...
Hope this helps...

I guess where i'm confused, i'm looking for the age group and trying to match up the image preview with an age group... so i can take out the ones that use the maxis defaults... the slider on the right doesn't show an age group... or does it and i missed it somehow.... i see the button to delete from the package... but i wouldn't know what i'm deleteing...
I've done a few and it's fast and i have a good idea of what i'm looking at, so i use the "copy to all" button, but then i get maxis defaults for toddler and child and elder

I updated swimpooltalk so that it works with Bon Voyage. Looking through Squinges code I wasn't sure what exactly he was going for with some of it (that's the problem with moddifying other people's work). But I've managed to eliminate the jump bug that was occuring and they still talk while in the pool so it seems to work. Let me know if there's something odd about it. LycosV
Thanks for updating this mod LycosV.... I've wanted this to work for a long time, since it broke after i installed an EP... Should this work if i don't have BV installed? I just recently put in Seasons and then i found your fixed version the next day and tried it out... but (there's always a but) when i got a chance to play today.. on 2 different lots with 2 different sims i had the same error come up after the sim dived in a pool.... there were no other sims in the pool... i didn't direct the sims to dive in the pool, but both had the same error and both now have a really bad case of gas.... it's funny... the animation was interrupted when they were diving so they still have a trail of bubbles coming out of their butts... they've changed into everyday and i forced errors on them both but they keep farting big bubbles... I should've got a picture ... here's the error log if it helps... I have all ep's and sp's to seasons all patched up.. [attachment deleted by admin]
