Problems and errors similar to yours have been happening with the release of the recent patch. Chairs, stoves and a couple other things are 'useless' unless you sell it and buy a new one. It happens though. I'm glad to see that someone else had a similar problem that wasn't from one of the tardville forums and wasn't prescribed a total reinstallation of the game.
