1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: You think you might have a hack/mod conflict? Than check this tool! on: 2006 April 15, 10:27:40
It's a useful tool, but it will also report potential conflicts between two hacks that share procedures because they've been designed to work together. The TJ re-write of Laserarcsims' Pregnancy For All was intended to work as a plug-in for the Jase-adapted versions of the Jenflower Teen WooHoo mod, but it generates three different possible conflict reports with it when you run this tool.

It also reported a number of possible conflicts between mods that have been quietly sitting together in my dowloads folder for months or years without affecting gameplay. So if you have some unexplained glitching it might help to pin down where it's coming from, but you shouldn't assume that everything it reports should be removed.

2  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Good reason for *not* getting FFS (Family Fun Stuff) on: 2006 April 13, 20:34:01
There have been many arguments about how FFS is a ripoff because it contains only 60 items that should have been included in OFB...

An even more pertinent reason for not getting it might be that, to judge by the advance publicity, it's complete crap and is better off not being included at all. In real life I've found that, as a general rule, you should run screaming from anything that advertises itself as appropriate for a "family" setting, be it "family fun" or "family friendly" or "family entertainment". "Family Fun Stuff" seems to carry the principle over into virtual reality.

Your mileage may vary, of course.

Well, now I am in, but it's all back to white with no graphics, etc.

I couldn't get graphics either until I put two entries for 216.32.95.35 in my hosts file, one for moreawesomethanyou.com and the other for www.moreawesomethanyou.com. Now the site looks completely normal.

There's only so many times I can sit through that birth cinematic.
Turn off the cinematic  Tongue
LOL  That was going to be my suggestion, too.

I know, I know. But even without the cinematic there's only so many times I can put up with watching my sim give birth over and over. If they haven't produced an appropriate heir after 3 attempts then I reserve the right to invoke godhood and adjust things to my satisfaction. It's either that or import a mountain to expose all these unwanted children on until the social worker takes them away.

Well, I believe my vampiric Sim-self wears a black recolour of this outfit in Pescado's game.  I think it suits for that, but I wouldn't deign to put my Simself in this in my own game lol.

Quite right; two belts, a miniskirt and a leather sports bra is not the most appropriate warrior uniform outside of the the pale and flabby imaginations of pale and flabby game coders without girlfriends. You're going to want some good quality plate armour on that midriff for a start. And what's with the full-length formal leather glove? That's just going to restrict the movement of one arm. Boiled leather is SO not spandex.

We should only be grateful the sad-sack designers didn't go for the equally traditional bronze chain-mail bikini approach to everything. Joggers nipple has nothing on sweaty, bouncing battle in a pair of tea-strainers.

My fool-proof gender picker is simply to reload before mom has the baby and if it's not the gender I'm after, I re-load without saving.  It works every time. Wink

My own foolproof method is to repeat the birth three times and if I still don't get what I want, I save the game and flip the baby's gender in SimPE. There's only so many times I can sit through that birth cinematic.
