1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Half of Bridgeport Sims stand around, doing nothing.. on: 2010 November 23, 20:24:11
Surprinsingly, Win7 runs much better than XP on my computer. (and, by this, I mean the game itself also works better)

Looking at those specs, this is probably just your imagination. Your non-moving Sims clearly prove that.

Nope, I'm a Homosapien.

Homo maybe, but sapiens? Not so much.

Because it's just polite, that's why.  I wouldn't insult someone who just came to a forum to ask a question and posted in a section that clearly looked appropriate.  And I expect to be treated with the same respect.

What on earth made you choose "The War Room" over "Oops, you broke it!" ? The descriptions should have been clear enough. Get your special behind somewhere where they hold your hand while listening to you whine about your problems. Don't let the door hit you on your way out.

And exactly what FAQ?  All I see is a Help button that explains about posting and such.  And I've looked at all the other threads here.  They seem very helpful, so why are you all attacking me instead of answering my original question about TS2?

Search moar. Typing "FAQ" into the search box in the top left corner of your screen yields pretty good results - all links found there thoroughly introduce you to the atmosphere of this place. And if you really had looked at all the other threads of this sub-forum, you'd have noticed that stupid, probably CC-related glitches like yours don't belong here.

Edit: Darn, typing too slow.

Okay, here I go again... (Ready to be burned, but hopeful.)

I have the Base: 1.11.7 version of the game, and I installed AM using these http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,17454.msg504479.html#msg504479 directions. When I enter the game, everything is colored red, except the inside of a house if I go into live mode. Does anyone know what causes this and\or what I did wrong?

*snipped pic*

Thank you.

The problem described in this thread sounds and looks similar: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,17625.msg509155.html . Did you check your graphics card drivers?
6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Asherton, a neighborhood you can play with: The unpopulated version on: 2010 January 14, 12:09:21
There seems to be a routing problem with the Police Station. A Sim of mine could enter it just fine -  when he finished his shift and exited to go home, though, he got stuck in front of the door. I had to move the Police Station closer to (and a bit into) the hill behind it, then he finally went home. Other than that, a wonderul neighbourhood - love the small lots.

I know for a fact that there's DirectX 11 on my PC and Sims 2 runs fine, so that can't be the problem. No idea about anything else, though. You may be running the default crap drivers used when no real drivers are installed.

Hm... well my particular sim ISN'T charismatic, and still has two copies of each song in her queue- no icon.
None of my sims are charismatic. All of them know at least two songs. All of those songs appear twice in the menu for each sim. I seem to recall something similar in the past with TS2.

I've also got that but I know for sure it only started after I patched the game to 1.8/2.3.

I don't really care about your stupid little website holidays or whatever and I will type how I want, and if I make a few mistakes, so what? Doesn't bother me.
I joined for some Sims help, and so far 1 person has tried to help.

If I was bothered about "Grammar Day" I'd say sorry. But I'm not, so I won't. And I'm not going to start typing with capitals, making sure if I'm using the right "there/their" or anything else like that for you.

Ahem. With MATY, you sign up for the whole package - or nothing. Your lack of capital letters - it killed the Grammar kitteh. It's not just about Grammar Day (well, maybe it is, but let's just assume it's not), it's about not sounding like an illiterate, lazy jerk. Oh, and you want help with your game ? Try not to sound like a 12 so much, maybe then someone will feel inclined to help you out.

Holy Hannah. What do they teach at school these days ?

Edit: Darn, why are others always typing faster ?
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Stupid Person needs assistance with Very Easy Video Card question on: 2009 June 11, 15:52:53
Given that I had the same card before updating to a GeForce 7600 (my rig can't handle much more), I can speak from experience. For the base game alone, it might be ok. If you want to play with one or even more expansion packs, the game starts choking, the odd visual artifacts appear. The game won't even let you use the higher texture and sim detail settings and the like. Also, the video card will be under such a load that you might experience overheating.

Even if you only play once a week, I could imagine a more enjoyable experience than the above.

Drivers won't help here. Update your card.

New drivers won't help there. Old video card is old. There should be at least a 7 or an 8 instead of the 4 nowadays.
