1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Odd Instance of Morning Sickness on: 2008 February 23, 17:51:23
I had a sim puke 5 times in a row - with the noodlesoother on! - due to 'saved up' morning sickness (she'd been skilling or meditating or at work for most of the 1st trimester).  Got to the energizer before she died on me.  Occasionally I can keep them distracted or busy enough to avoid puking, but am usually thwarted.  Dual pukes aren't uncommon at all in my game and are definitely not indicative of twins.

I found during my legacy challenge that NPCs didn't get morning sickness at all (the original ones - mail carriers, exterminators, pizza delivery).  CAS, game-born, and townie sims always did.  But this was before NL, things might've changed since then.

As far as paper delivery, etc. - never early, but sometimes late by a few minutes.
2  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Odd problems when taking a specific sim to a community lot on: 2007 July 04, 00:19:26
If anyone cares, I reported the download today to MST2 moderators and they've added a note about the problem w/this backdrop object and Seasons.  I'd contacted Targa about it back in March when it happened to me, but apparently he/she isn't updating stuff.  Or acknowledging pm's.  I didn't think to check back on it until I saw this thread.

It's only been downloaded a few thousand times, oh well.   Undecided
3  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: OFB and Uniforms on: 2007 June 30, 21:54:44
I forgot all about this - I avoid using the uniform functions altogether since one of my uniformed sims lost his whole head after a while.  Well, everything but his hair.  Had the face changing, eyebrows missing, blue face floating...no amount of changing appearance in mirrors or changing out of uniforms/clothing would bring his head back.  I've sinced nuked the whole hood, but I was able to clone him first for use in other hoods - his head is present and he appears as he did when I first made him.
4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Third Seasons Patch is out.... on: 2007 June 21, 04:45:28
They only had simmers testing the game after FFS?!   Shocked  That's hilarious and gruesome.  Tho I always suspected their testing involved way too much woolpropping and not enough actual playing.

I'll smack just about anything modders here put out into my game without fear, but that fixed 2nd Seasons patch is still sitting on my desktop uninstalled.  I fear it.  I fear most everything EA puts out for this game anymore.  The anxiety is horrendous.  I need counseling or another hobby.

How many computer setups does one Pescado use to test his fixes...that always seem to work right out of the can on anyone's system?  I'm curious and cynical (of EA) all at once.
5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Missing previews for custom clothing: how to fix? on: 2007 June 09, 16:46:48
Does that Control/RightClick on the pic trick work?  I know it does w/goofed thumbnails in the CAS simbin.
6  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: I really did break it... on: 2007 April 18, 15:08:28
Agreed - very cool idea!  I've seen such DLs at this site (in the Build section):

7  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: "Attribute number out of range" rapidfire at some houses *new error logs* on: 2007 April 17, 03:45:27
You might want to check your custom content.  I had a similar issue, rapidfire 'attribute out of range' erroring; all the error logs noted the 'tiered garden fountain' from Seasons, but it also happened w/the pond sprinkler and the Maxis cupid commando sculpture from the official site.  Turned out to be the buyable CAS backdrop by Targa at MST2 making the trouble, and it wasn't even used anywhere on any lot in that hood.

I used the halfsies method to find it.  Nineteen feckin' quits and starts...twas yea verily nonawesome.   Tongue
8  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: EP5 seasonal trees spawning on built lots: unremovable by any means on: 2007 April 10, 21:41:09
Thanks for that explanation, Havelock. And thanks Jsalemi - turns out it was indeed a recolor of one of my now marching J. Maples - they flashed blue for me when I sent a sim there from a lot that had flipped to Fall.  It was perplexing as all I had was this:

http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/Jfed/garden/gardenpark.jpg

Which didn't give me a whole lot to go on - the maples were formerly contained in the square shrubbery.    Roll Eyes
9  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: EP5 seasonal trees spawning on built lots: unremovable by any means on: 2007 April 10, 19:36:08
I also had four large blue flashy-things in the distance view from a lot two spots down which I can't figure out the source of. They kind of looked like vertical churros. I'm thinking it must be custom content, but the shape isn't familiar.

I've had a lot of that with custom colors of Maxis trees -- Seasons just doesn't like them. I ended up deleting all the custom color files.  The hydrangea and birch trees seem to be the ones with the most problems.

I also had the same problems with all the Numenor 'lost maxis trees'.  I guess they're 'lost' because they're missing some code the game expects, but they were just big blobs of blue in both the neighborhood screen and on the lots after I installed seasons.

Had the blue shapes on a comm. lot just the other day, it's got plenty of CC on it yet everything was fine when I entered the lot; the weirdness was only in 'hood view.  I have no idea which of these actions fixed it, but can't hurt to try:  daub a bit of terrain on the affected lot and save, plunk down a new tree in the hood, or rebuy a few items for the afflicted lot and save.  After entering a residential lot and exiting to the hood again, they were gone.

Edit:  Just now saw that this is a temporary fix; a restart of my game and the blue shapes are back.  *feels shame.
10  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Jagged Lines of Death...... ARE BACK!!!!!!!!!!! on: 2007 March 30, 03:28:20
I've had them occur since the base game (usually looking out a window - I thought they were thinking of curtains!) - also, as far as I recall, in every hood I've ever made to date, with all EPs except Pets.  But with regular nuking of gossip memories w/the lotdebugger, they have become a very rare incident.  I have only one hood that I'm positive is blown to bits, the others are functioning just fine so far.

The age of a hood and the purity of it didn't seem to have any relation to seeing these things - days old, years old, clean as a whistle or full of very bad things.

I just keep playing.   Smiley

11  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Invaders of the Cleaned Lot Files on: 2007 March 21, 15:08:54
Cheers back!  I hadn't thought about this in forever til you brought it up, as it didn't give me any chronic agita.  But at the time it bugged me.

And cheers to Nec - that's great to know.  You should let EAxis in on it - one of the lots that came with OFB (the coffee shop?) has a pre-manned bar in build/buy.   Wink
12  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Invaders of the Cleaned Lot Files on: 2007 March 21, 06:54:58
I had this happen but a while ago.  It was a lot I'd packaged myself and wanted for other hoods.  I had packaged it when it was owned by a playable, and it was also a pay to play venue with the Bandatron.

I installed it and placed it in another hood (that no longer exists) and saw the NPC there (a DJ).  She was not a former employee, she was a whole new NPC.  I deleted her w/moveobjects on I think...I'm pretty sure I did just to make her go away (panicked), also removed the Bandatron ticket thing, made some other improvements and then packaged the lot again.  When I installed that lot, the NPC was gone and no others were present (there was a bar also).  I never thought to check it w/CleanInstaller and SimPe is a scary place for me.

I've used it since and had no issues with it at all.  That I know of, ha.  But perhaps the NPC thing is to do with the business being owned first as opposed to just built and packaged as a business?
13  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Fishing in owned community lots on: 2007 March 20, 20:01:01
This also drove me crazy.  I have a home-based business; the owner does nothing but paint still lifes for sale.  She has never fished or gardened, she is chained to the easel.  All other householders fished, but had no fish in their inventories; saw that they were all in the owner's, had the slowly dawning realization, etc.

However, I have one sim in the same household who does strictly all the gardening/harvesting.  Produce he harvests does not show up in the business owner's inventory - it remains in his inventory.  Can't say if that holds true on an owned community lot as I don't have any yet in this 'hood.
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Jump Bugs (since Seasons install) on: 2007 March 18, 21:24:51
For me it was a CAS backdrop made buyable by Targa at MST2 that caused the Holey Pots jump/standstill problem (it also happened when I placed the Seasons pond water spray).  Don't know if other CC would cause it.
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Odd things I noticed about Seasons on: 2007 March 14, 02:23:04
I experienced the fish/no fish thing too.  Seemed to help when I seriously deepened the pond, especially around the edges.  Try aiming for the earth's core.

They also reappeared after I exited and reentered the lot, if memory serves.  But there seemed no pattern to them being there and then not.
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Odd things I noticed about Seasons on: 2007 March 11, 14:56:25
Had testingcheatsenabled on at one point and noticed they were generating an object error file every few seconds, so I checked the files. Turns out there was something wrong with one of the new objects, the little tiered bowl fountain (forget the name... Holy something-or-other) - as soon as I deleted it from my lot, the kids returned to normal. GRRRRR....
Edit:  Narrowed down to something from MST2 - found them, all by Targa:  Buyable Backdrop and Studio lights from CAS, and/or buyable Artist Camera career reward. Sick of looking; it's probably the backdrops.
It must be the backdrop, as that's the only one of the three you mention that I don't have and my fountain works fine.

Appreciate that, Lorelei - I'm on watch for Maxis objects modded to be available to players, somewhere around here there's mention of 'Lost and Found' trees not being lightning-strikable or some such.   Smiley
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Seasons: What mods are you already begging for? on: 2007 March 10, 22:11:18
I haven't purchased Seasons yet, but I've been reading here and on the BBS to see what bugs people were having before I make the purchase.  On the BBS there are several complaints of actions dropping out of queue, and of children becoming cold enough for the social worker to arrive after a very short period of time outside.  I figure readers here are a more reliable source, so are these actually common problems?  Is the children's temperature problem caused by hacks as the overheating is believed to be? If these things are going on, and aren't caused by cc, I will avoid buying it until there is either a patch or mod to fix these things.  My large families will be unplayable if I have to play with free will off and micromanage everyone all the time, or play with it on and constantly have to re-assign actions.  And there's no point to snow at all if sims freeze before they even have time to enjoy it.

Can't speak to the freezing kids problem, tho I've had no issues at all since updating my hacks, but CC is giving me fits, causing dropped actions and stuck sims when I use some of the Seasons deco, and a custom car caused my graphics card to pass out and crashed me to a restart.  Never had a CC problem w/other EPs.  I'm nearly done finding the action drop culprit, and got rid of my CC cars.

I'd also love for sims to take leftovers out autonomously!
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Odd things I noticed about Seasons on: 2007 March 09, 17:25:18
Had an interesting (read: frustrating as *&%@#) bug show up in my neighborhood. I'd made and furnished a house, and moved in a family - 1 servo, 2 children, and 4 toddlers. The servo and toddlers seemed fine but the children when in free will mode would just stand around doing diddly-squat and often jump out of queued-up interactions. Thought they were bugged somehow and restored them from a backup of them on a different (empty) lot, they were fine there, moved them into the hosue again, and again they stoped working.

GRRRRR....

Now I just have to figure out why none of the toddlers have wants... three fears, zero wants, on all of them.

About ten posts up this page - I had the same issue w/the Holey Pots fountain (also the pond water spray gadget).  I'm sorry it happened to you too; I think it's a CC conflict, as I've heard from others they have no problem at all w/that object.

Edit:  Narrowed down to something from MST2 - found them, all by Targa:  Buyable Backdrop and Studio lights from CAS, and/or buyable Artist Camera career reward. Sick of looking; it's probably the backdrops.
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Garden Environment score bottomed out? on: 2007 March 09, 08:33:36
SMBurpie has an album up on the exchange about Seasons.  In it she claims that, by process of elimination, she found the trellised plant that came w/an older EP (maybe even the base game) is responsible for plummeting environment scores, much like that bamboo flooring does when used in a large room.  For what it's worth.   Smiley
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Odd things I noticed about Seasons on: 2007 March 09, 08:26:59
I never got Pets, so I didn't have CC related issues there, but Seasons is the only EP (I have Uni/NL/OFB/Seasons - no stuff packs) that's ever given me any CC problems.  I left it all in there when I installed, 'cause, y'know, I live on the edge.   Roll Eyes

I've had it twice now, stuck sims, jumping out of or dropping actions.  First time, I turned on testingcheats and got error after error, all to do w/sims on the lot.  Checked the logs and saw all but one mentioned the 'tiered garden fountain' (Holey Pots fountain that came w/Seasons).  Deleted that from the lot and all was well.

Second time, different lot.  Deleted all my custom fountains, since it was a water feature the first time, but the problem persisted.  It was the Season's water spray thingie you place in ponds.  All fine once I deleted that.

I've got a CC folder of Amazonian proportions.  I'm going in with a machete.  And a weedwhacker.  And gasoline.  Looks like I'll have to take out some fridges too.
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Energizer problems post Seasons on: 2007 March 01, 20:04:41
Had it happen once w/a platinum teen, but either shortly before or after that, I nearly killed his mother in the same unit (she was green and, frankly, had it coming).  She fell out in the usual form.  I'm pretty sure I had a different sim in gold asp. use the same unit w/no problems as well.

So I sent that sim to a comm. lot and my game crashed and puter rebooted but that's a whole other deal.   Smiley

Edit:  had it happen 2 more times, 2 different sims, same unit.  Each sim only had 2 or 3 low motives.
