I've tried the Dragonsdance and I see tant every fertile woman is now growing. I'm only waiting for the births to know who is/are the fathers.

The Pokemon move "Dragon Dance" raises Attack and Speed by one stage.  Perhaps the command speeds the births up?
2  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New EP & still no Hood Editor! on: 2009 August 05, 00:45:40
For TS1, they promised us they would release Edith. They never released it.

Can you elaborate on "Edith"?  Google says that it was a tool for programming behaviors and editing houses and families, but when was this proposed and when did Maxis set a release date?  Found a how-to guide dated May 31 2001, but the hits dissolve by page 2 and I can't find any concrete info.
3  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Glitches 101. The Criminal Career. A compendium of Fail. on: 2009 July 11, 17:02:25
There have been reported problems with criminal Sims being unable to go to work if a law enforcement Sim raids the criminal warehouse.  Did you, by any chance, happen to do this?
4  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: So are there any plans on an updated awesomespec for houses for Sims 3? on: 2009 July 03, 06:44:43
The perimeter defense is to prevent strays from ruining your lawn.  In vanilla TS3 there is no need to be concerned about that.
5  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Config - Stylish on: 2009 June 26, 16:35:28
Grin I like the pretty blue colors, but my eyes being as they are, smaller print does not help. Functionality trumps pretty.  Nice job, anyway.

Add this to the Styish script:

P {font-size:150%}

I don't have FF so I can't test.

Auto Recycling Newspaper at DJS.

Squinge's no gardening on community lots - oddly it won't work with Seasons and higher, not sure why.
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do you protect your right to piracy? on: 2009 June 07, 06:07:36
Were you trying to encrypt the BitTorrent traffic in any way?

Apparently there's a service called Torrent Privacy that is billed as the only secure way to torrent privately, but it costs $100 a year to suscribe.  At that cost I might as well buy the stuff I'm torrenting.
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Moar Whiny on: 2009 June 07, 01:03:34
Twojeff's VC also comes with an option to zap the newspaper delivery.  I use it rather than put three papers in each lot.

EDIT: Superior DJSSims version hack supersedes this.  I will have to get that hack myself.
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Installing Apartment Life on: 2009 June 01, 05:38:26
I've downloaded all the files with rtfms but there are a few in the Moreawesomethanyou-AL.zip that are not available individually and I have never seen rtfms for, like censustool, eggjuicememfix and lessuckskating.

There are also several hacks that I had from previous updates that are not in the AL zip: bandatronmovefix, nodrivewayshuffle, nocollegeobsession, nodeanspam and nodormieregen. I think when they are updated they are updated in all the pages but I'm not positive of that. Nodrivewayshuffle was modified 8/26/08 so that was after AL was released, I think.

Cenustool produces a $1 stack of books under Misc/Misc that allows you to see the neighborhood by aspiration, sexuality, male/female, etc.  Eggjuicememfix appears to fix a memory-related issue with making eggjuice.  Lesssuckskating might mean that Sims use their body skill or w/e to improve on skating.  Not sure on the latter two, though.
10  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 May 26, 19:25:40
I think all newer EA games put their files and saves into Electronic Arts rather than EA Games.  I seem to recall NFSU2 put its saves in EA Games, but NFS Carbon and whatever the new one that just came out is called, put their saves into Electronic Arts.  The Sims Stories also put their saves into Electronic Arts.

Well, I just wished they could let you change the directory, for both the installation AND the saves.

I've actually found the opposite to be true.  For me, scrolling is smoother, anything having to do with graphics feels faster than TS2.  I'm using a clocked nVidia 9800GT's at 1920x1200 with all settings maxed except building detail which I left at its default of 4.  What graphics hardware are you using?

Using a Nvida GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 at 1024x768.  The card is apparently so bad that I had to edit the Graphics Rules files back for TS2 Seasons to force it to run at that resolution; it insisted on 800x600.
11  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Technical problems with THE HORROR: downloading, installing, and running it on: 2009 May 26, 18:57:26
Wanted to update my situation.  I ran Autochk.  Don't know what the results were, but trying to torrent TS3 Reloaded resulted in the same crash.  My mom suggested downloading it to my external hard drive, so I did, and now I'm playing TS3.

I also torrented SpinRite and I'm wondering if that will do anything to help.
12  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 May 26, 18:38:04
Installation.  WTF.  I already have a nice EA GAMES directory, now they decide to install TS3 into "Electronic Arts"...?  What?  I uninstalled and reinstalled into the EA GAMES folder, but it doesn't give me the choice to choose where to put the saves folder, so in My Documents I sitll have an EA GAMES and Electronics Art folder.  Also, what is up with them launching the game when you want to uninstall?

Everything just feels awkward to do.  Pie menus take slighly longer to pop up compared to TS2.  Leftovers are now in the pie menu rather than getting little box of all the leftovers that you have.  The camera system feels like it stutters instead of being smooth like in TS2, even with edge scrolling turned on.  They redesigned all the icons so now I have to hover over them to remember which is what.

On the flip side, I like how they sort the room function now.  it feels more intuitive to click on the floor or the wall to open up the wall or floor functions instead of going through icons.  I also like the finer grid to place objects and the ability to put objects at any angle.

Some of the asthetics seem tacky now.  It's harder to find things in the redesigned display than it was last time.  I LIKED having Live/Buy/Build benig large circle icons.  The redesigned icons are harer to remember and don't stand out as well as they used to.  Why do I have to be in live mood to save?  Also, it seems to not know that you saved before, i.e. if i saved in TS2 and then hit quit, it wouldn't have the option to let me save.  It would just let me quit.

The needs panel sucks.  It's been de-emphasized to just a little icon now instead of being the main thing.  Also, why the heck is it green all the time and only gets yellow at the very end?

The neighborhood exploration looks pretty cool, more realistic.  Feels more like a neighborhood than TS2, when I could just do everything at home.
13  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Technical problems with THE HORROR: downloading, installing, and running it on: 2009 May 25, 06:56:37
Exiled, if you're getting BSODs while torrenting (if I'm understanding you correctly), you may have some kind of serious issue with your computer. I'd shut down all extraneous software (including your torrent software) and anything else living in your system tray. Then run a full virus and spyware scan. Beyond that, you may have to run Windows Repair or something (from original discs). Also try googling "0x0000007A" for more possibilities.

Yeah, BSODs while torrenting.  Confirmed three crashes.

I've done a bit of Googling and the techno level is overwhelming me.  The 0x7a error is caused by "virtual memory paging file, disk controller error, virus infection, or memory hardware problems."

A site recommends running Autochk, but when I try, it says it cannot run in Win32 mode...wtf?  So I can only run it when I reboot the computer and before it launches Vista?  I've set Task Scheduler to run Autochk when the computer boots up, but I wish I had a more guaranteed way that I knew that the problem was over with.

Scanning my hard drive with NAV 2009 and will be running Spybot S&D when NAV finishes up.
14  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: I fail so hard, I can't even install it! on: 2009 May 25, 01:39:21
This error may come about if you're using a cracked no-CD.  The SP has the patch and tries to update; upon failing, it will stupidly uninstall itself instead of, you know, letting it go.

I didn't realize this, so I uninstalled Seasons to install IKEA, and put the no-CD back in.  When I tried to install H&M, it threw up the same thing.  I put the original EXE back in and H&M installed successfully.

Lost my Lotsync data again, though.  Grrrr.
15  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / No censor hack for TS3 on: 2009 May 24, 21:46:26

Deadlink.  Someone uploaded it without connecting to an account, they cap uploads to 10 times.
16  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Technical problems with THE HORROR: downloading, installing, and running it on: 2009 May 24, 19:56:04
So I've been torrenting more, and getting more crashes.  Each crash takes about 2-4 minutes after it freezes up before giving me the BSOD (hence why I didn't get them before, when trying to get TS3 Reloaded, since I always just manually reset) and about 5 minutes to create a dump file before restarting.

My computer only crashes when I try to get massive torrents (5.6GB, 4 GB, 9 GB).  For the last one, I tried to avoid the crash by by torrenting one TS2 stuff pack at a time, but it crashed was I was torrenting my third stuff pack (Glamour Life).

Here's the data.  Can anyone tell me what the computer's trying to tell me?  If a dump file is better, where can I find those?  I'm running Vista SP1.

- I have observed that a really really really lot of the complaints that I'm seeing about "this or that is a step backwards because it was in TS2" are referring to things that were in xpacks and not the base game.  Cars, gardening, Lifetime Wants, saving leftovers, were all xpack stuff too and they're in the base TS3 game but that seems to get overlooked.

Well yeah, TS2 base didn't have them, but we expected them to include at least a few features from the TS2 EPs (similar to how TS2 included parties, and, uh...can't remember what else).  You know, to build on TS2, rather than repackage it and come out with the same damn EPs the same time around.
18  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Technical problems with THE HORROR: downloading, installing, and running it on: 2009 May 19, 23:37:34

My computer just crashed for a third time.  I notice that every time it freezes up, it seems that the downlaod speed drops to nothing and it takes about 20-30 seconds for it to unfreeze and download speed go up, as seen in the above picture.  Is that normal for a download?

To test it out, I just torrented some music and it didn't freeze once.  I went to TPB and added those trackers and deleted the demonoid trackers, but it also froze and dropped off.  I've killed the download until I get further info about why this is happening and how I can prevent it.

Ugh, my computer has crashed twice while trying to torrent it from Demonoid.  Complete crash - I can't even restart, I have to turn the computer off and on again.  Before it crashes, my programs start to freeze up - I browse using Opera and Firefox simultaneously, and sometimes BOTH browsers have locked up at the same time for about 20 seconds.  The music in Winamp drops and comes back on.

I'm on Vista, using uTorrent and downloading from Demonoid.  I use Windows Firewall and NAV 2009.  Can someone troubleshoot this and figure out why this is happening?
20  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 May 19, 17:52:01
Four-month delay and they still didn't include an option to totally disable global aging?  EAxis fail.
21  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 May 19, 03:10:44
The YouTube videos are not impressing me that much.  The WooHoo, in particular, looks like it's been ripped frame for frame from TS2 with some cheesy-looking petals falling down.  The fireworks from TS2 were better.

Just out of curiosity, how long did it take for some hacks to come in TS2?
22  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Stuff Collections on: 2009 May 17, 18:51:02
Delphy's organizer is showing all of my EA Store stuff as being "orphaned."  Why is this happening and how can I fix it?
23  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Automated Baby Controller on: 2009 May 17, 06:30:26
No, this is a direct artifact of how the action priority system works. Because the baby controller operates at standard priority, it is able to override crap autonomous actions and prevent their interference.

I'm fine with stomping autonomous actions.  What I want all user-directed actions to be able to force the toddler to drop whatever activity he/she is doing.  Is that possible?
24  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Automated Baby Controller on: 2009 May 17, 03:04:38
I have a question about ABC.  I notice that if the toddler's energy is in the deep red while he is skilling, I can direct the caregiver to put it in the crib and the toddler will cease skilling to allow it to be put to bed.  However, if it's just in the deep yellow, the toddler will ignore the caregiver and the caregiver's action will be dropped.  Can it be tweaked so that any caregiver action will force toddlers to stop whatever they're doing?  I find it irritating to have to switch to toddler, X out the action, switch to caregiver, and then do the action.

Also, I had an APO conflict as well.  I configured an APO inside the nursery to deny "exit" to "everyone" and had overrides for the two caregivers.  I put a rabbit toy at the corner of the room adjacent to the door to the kitchen.  One time, when I directed the caregiver to get a bottle from the fridge, she found the toddler blocking the way and dropped it in the kitchen instead, out of reach of the toddler.  I had to go into buy mode and move the bottle into the room.  is the solution to the problem not to put toys so close to the exit, or is there a way to make sure that the caregiver follows the APO rules?

See this picture for a layout of the nursery and kitchen areas.
