1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / meshes won't show up on: 2011 August 25, 23:46:30
I have some meshes that won't show up in the catalog.  I have custom content enabled, and the latest CEP (which doesn't matter anyway).  The offending is an entire set of items, and I can see them in "Downloads" but not in the game.  Huh?

As I said in my first post, I have a supported video card that works great, and have updated all drivers.  So yes, I "even have a video card".

Well, I guess I am going to have to accept defeat.  I did a search and found the threads pertaining to my problem.  I have tried all suggestions, including everything in this thread, and so far nothing has worked for me.  Thanks for all the help.  I guess I will throw my games out in the street and let the traffic run over them.

This is the first time using a noCD crack, and just on this exp pack.  The noCD .exe is in the TS bin of Bon Voyage in my program files.

When I try to run BV, I get an immediate error message stating "unable to enumerate any DirectX 9 compatible graphics device".  Then the application terminates without me being able to get to the very first screen.  This is even after a clean install, with no downloads or hacks, using a noCD crack.

I have been running TS2 up through and including Seasons with no problems.  I have a supported graphics card that has been working fine.  I downloaded the latest directX, I updated all drivers, I went to Start: dxdiag and made sure everything that was supposed to be enabled, is.  I am totally puzzled as to what to do next.

I am enamoured with all the interpretations I have seen thus far; but I must remark especially about Witch's lot--it made me giggle out loud (in a good way).  That is not something I ever do, but the incredible air of whimsy in that lot was too much to hold back!

Thanks again.  And Kazzandra, I am glad someone understands building and decorating with all CC and no Maxis.

Thanks.  The error msg says "[insert file name here] can't be recreated."  And, I will try much smaller increments for moving.

My game has been crashing everytime I enter any lot.  I removed recent suspicious dl's but that didn't help.  I decided to move my entire dl folder to another place for safe-keeping so that I could test my game vanilla.  Problem is, I can't get the files to move.  I have tried to copy and paste to various places, like the desktop, and also to an external 250gig hd.  Here's where you get to stomp all over me--I have 51,000 cc pkg files (12 gig).  Is there some way to move my files?  Is there a dl limit for TS2?  I don't want to simply kiss those files goodbye forever.  I have worked hard for 4yrs to accumulate them.  There's no solution, is there?

The nuts and bolts of moving problems:  I get various error msgs when I am trying to do the move, and as soon as I respond to the msg, the move shuts down.

Thanks for reading, and make fun of me if you must.
