I just searched this site, guess I should've tried google. Entering resetsim in the cheat box didn't do anything. With awesomemod testing debugs control+shift resetsim did fix it though.

I'm getting a lot of this.

I also get a lot of her pausing in that pose when I instruct her to do something. She'll pause for a few seconds like that then do whatever I told her to do. It's everything though. Aside from the pausing, it appears to be purely cosmetic but it's bothering me. She'll go from sleeping to standing every few seconds. This did not happen before she changed into maternity clothes. There might be more but it bothered me enough to seek out immediate answers, and search found me nothing.

Mods I have: cooking and ingredients overhaul, 5% bills, and awesomemod. I did have a same-sex pregnancy mod which I removed to see if it affected anything (granted the damage could be done) and the socialized energy for beds mod, also removed to see if it affected something.
3  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Installshield issue. on: 2009 August 03, 01:07:17
Oh I believe it, I know I've managed to open more than a few, and usually the installer will throw an error at me and close itself. That's why I mentioned that I completely restarted the system to ensure nothing was running under some weird name I couldn't identify in the processes. I'm really thinking this is a system issue and am currently attempting to update this and that to see if it solves anything.

I just can't comprehend what what worked just two days ago is no longer functioning.
4  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Installshield issue. on: 2009 August 02, 23:26:28
I did some basic searching, checked the last two pages here and I found nothing to help me. But I admit I more than likely missed the answer to my question.

I figure this is a problem with my computer or more likely something stupid I did. With my old computer I knew so much more but now that I have vista, I seem to have become retarded - so feel free to poke.

Anyway, patched up to 1.3 with awesomeware and had a crashing problem which I read that reinstalling would help with. So uninstalled, no problem (but I think this is where I screwed up, I did a control panel uninstall) and reinstalled. When I try to patch to 1.2.7, it throws up an error (error: -5006 : 0x80004005 <- if it's useful to anyone) when trying to access the install shield. Trying to be a good little trouble shooter, I figured there could be an error in the file for whatever reason, deleted it and downloaded a new one. This is not exclusive to patch 1.2.7. I attempted 1.3 just to check.

The error screen says something about making sure there isn't another installer running. I can't imagine how there could be another and even completely restarted the system to make sure nothing was. I've also attempted to run this as an administrator seeing as vista is just..... absolutely retarded.
5  Serious Business / Spore Discussions / Re: MASSIVE SECURITY HAZARD in Spore! on: 2008 July 01, 00:01:32
spore will use the name of the account it was installed under so even though you changed your login name it will still use the name it was installed with. (if you uninstall, reinstall it will use your new one Smiley).

I don't think so. When I got my computer, the account was named something other than it is now. In documents and settings, the account folder still has the previous name and I have had games pull from that name before. So I wouldn't doubt that spore, though installed after I changed the account name, would pick up the previous name.

Both Pets and Seasons have their normal exes and the exes were not the ones causing the problem. Though, BV patched fine and may have had its no-cd exe. I can't recall. What I ended up doing was installing FT then TSS.

Though it makes absolutely no sense to me why with FT installed, it doesn't bother to update.
7  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: TSS on: 2008 April 13, 04:40:08
Oh, I completely forgot about doing that. I kind of feel like a retard.

I went through and undid that but it's still not working. The file causing the problem is the misc.package in the sound directory. I don't.. think I've ever done anything there. It's not read-only or anything.

I'd reinstall or steal the correct file off the cd but my cds are loaned out at the moment.
8  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / TSS on: 2008 April 13, 03:37:53
So I finally got Teen Style Stuff because some of it looked pretty cool.

Go to install it, it decides it needs to patch which apparently I forgot to patch seasons and pets. Okay, Pets tries to patch, fails. Then it tries to patch Seasons, fails and so the install fails.

So I tried to download the patches from the site, both pets and seasons failed.

Is this because I have BV installed?

1. Death by sewing needle

I was once told that if you take a hot needle and stick it in someone's eye that the eye will explode. Sorry, that just reminded me.

However, an animation of that might be hilarious.

I say that all this let's play Spore, and My Sims is propaganda and the only new game we get is that Don't Wake the Llama. BUT since games are one of the main points of this EP the advertising for SFX or whatever it is goes up making it impossible to have a computer in an accessible area.

The twins thing is a total lie. Wasn't there something about cookies that was supposed to improve twin odds but did nothing?

Though, I know this completely will not happen, I would love for them to bring the Artistic/Creative/Whatever it was called Aspiration from the ps2 Sims 2.
11  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Unable to extend house on: 2007 October 28, 23:03:42
I had this problem the last time I tried to build a lot. Today actually, ended up doing like dizzy and just putting floor tiles so I could get the stupid walls up. Maybe BV busted something.
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: BV and the adoption pool on: 2007 October 24, 19:58:30
I know squinge had a mod that by passed the pool and created new. Do you have any mods that affect adoption?
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / A little help for the inept? on: 2007 October 17, 15:19:17
Okay so I'm wondering if there is anyway to change the layering on the lip rings that came with bv so that more than one could be worn at the same time. So my two questions are:

1. Can this be done or would I have to do something like clone it?
2. How would I do this?

And if this has already been addressed I'm sorry, I couldn't find it.
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bon Voyage inconsistently refusing to load! on: 2007 September 28, 19:53:25
I have yet to obtain Bon Voyage but this happened to me with Seasons, it would load just whenever it felt like. But when instructed to load, it would spina nd do it stuff... take up memory... and not DO anything. Or take... you know a good 20 minutes before it would decide to load (and with 30 minute loading times due to cc, it just wasn't worth it then) The only thing I could do to make it run consistently was to use a cd image.
15  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Did we ever find an answer? on: 2007 March 29, 20:30:49
I searched a little and found a thread about how seasons wasn't crashing but it wouldn't load. I think the decided reason was safedisc?

I've got the same problem. Here's the catch, I don't use safedisc, I use the actual cd. Usually I get some pop up about an error, some times nothing at all. Like I get the splash screen. Tried taking out the cc and deleting the cache and the other thing I can't remember off the top of my head. I'm tempted to reinstall everything but I hate that I have to start all over with everything.. and you know all my houses and everything are gone, and it might not even help. There's not a lot of rhyme or reason to when it works and when it doesn't. I can give it three or four tries, it'll throw up errors or not and sometimes it'll start up right away and sometimes it'll wait a while and then load.

and this'll get a laugh, think maybe the lies and propaganda of this weekend will fix it?
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Graphic's card advice? on: 2007 January 27, 14:28:56
I have a dell, it's about a year old and is a fantastic computer minus the fact it has an integrated chipset video/sound card. It's done well so far but I'm going to assume Seasons will easily kill it. So now that I have some cash ($400) I'm planning to buy a new one.

The system I have is XP Media Center Edition, an Intel Pentium 4 CPU, 2.99 GHz, 504 MB ram... I really need more ram..

I know there was a post about this a while back but eh necromancy is bad, right? So... I'm looking for advice on what to get, anything else I need to improve and... you know hopefully stay in the price range since it'll be a long time before I get cash to spare again.
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Am I alone with this problem? on: 2006 December 10, 04:34:24
It's not so much that we blame EA for bugs in their programs so much as we blame them for their refusal to fix or even acknowledge the problems.

I was looking at it of more they didn't get it right in the first place but let it slide. I guess it could be EA's problem there too.

I have no idea what would cause this, and frankly can't imagine where to look for it, so in this case, it doesn't surprise me that EA may be similarly baffled, since this would very much be one of those "cannot reproduce" issues.

I haven't even thought about going to EA about it. But could it be the graphics card? I have a integrated chipset. Then again I can't see what would change it that much between the game and the patch to render something that DID work and DOES work for someone else to not work for me. Maybe a bad install?
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Am I alone with this problem? on: 2006 December 10, 03:25:19
Sometimes when I see things like this I wonder if people will think the same thing about me (When I finish school, get the actual job of a programmer, etc.) as I am right now.

EA is absolutely worthless. But then again I'm wondering if I'm the only one with this problem? since the 2nd OFB patch I haven't been able to use stages, I could before but whenever I go to place them my game crashes. Which absolutely sucks since that was something I was really excited for.  Now I was still able to use elevators at that point. Since pets I've had houses that I've downloaded and have had stages which work fine, but I still can't place them. I've also had houses with elevators, but alas elevators crash my game too now.

The weird part, or at least the weird part to me was, with stages like I could say where I wanted it and get the green boxes there but as soon as I let off the mouse for the game to place them, it crashed. Which I figured was normal but with the elevator I clicked on it and before I could even try to place it in the house my game had crashed.

I haven't seen anything about this anywhere (just searched to boot)? So I'm starting to wonder if it's a problem with my game or computer? Maybe it's that worthless videocard back to haunt me.
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Looking for good custom pets on: 2006 December 08, 02:32:13
I have an English Mastiff. Given the opportunity she would eat dachunds and yappy little dogs.
I dunno, those little yappy dogs are fast. Mine bounces off walls and tearasses around the room crazily like 4-pound superball. Thing practically never stops moving and even my other dog can't catch him. He can literally do burnouts across the floor fast enough that you can smell the hair burning. Maxis "hyper" is like what this dog would be like if heavily sedated.

That sounds like my little dog. She's some kind of terrier or doberman or something along those lines. She has it in her head that she has to be on top of something at all times if possible, which leads to furniture hopping when my brother brings over her favorite friend - a tiny italian greyhound of about the same size. Though I have to say when she misses her jump because she's a moron and hits the footrest instead is pretty entertaining. By then you just try to stay in the middle of the room and not get run over. In comparison, my slightly large dogs are just about as lazy as dirt.

Obviously, small dogs are more ferocious than their larger counter parts. They have speed, stealth (not my little dog, she has a tendency to run into walls when she's drunk - yes my dog is an alcoholic, it's not my fault.), they fight dirty (my little dog pulls the bigger dog around by her collar, I'm not kidding), and you know? I've been bitten by my little dog and my bigger dogs, and that little dog hurt ten fucking times more. Unless of course you're talking about an italian greyhound, the only one I know won't bite or bark, she just nibbles and kind of mumbles if that makes any sense.
20  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Is this trying to tell me I have a bad graphics card? on: 2006 December 05, 20:08:08
You're right jsalemi. When I talked to a computer tech (who had experience with Dell - don't even ask me why she bought me a Dell) at my mom's work, which is an IT department, he told me that I would in fact have to go into BIOS.

ps. I'm a she haha.
21  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Is this trying to tell me I have a bad graphics card? on: 2006 December 05, 01:12:01
That sucks.. thanks for your help. I was already told by the support people over at Dell that I needed a new video card but the reasoning I could live with and I guess I can live with this too it doesn't really seem to cause problems. Every now and again randomly my display driver just quits on me, so the game then shuts down and I have to restart. My computer (aw it had it's birthday recently) is like a week or two over a year old so it's not a problem to restart.
22  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Is this trying to tell me I have a bad graphics card? on: 2006 December 04, 20:11:09
According to easyinfo my display device is an Intel(R) 82945G Express Chipset Family.

In other news, deleting the groups.cache didn't seem to do anything. But it isn't like this is new, I know I had it in OFB and I think in NL, but I got Uni and NL at the same time, so it's highly possible that this has been an issue the whole entire time I've had the game. This just happens to be the first time it's bugged me. I can't remember, but I think what I used to do was move the family out and delete the lot. I don't know if it makes any difference but as well as my memory serves me (which isn't saying much), it's only ever happened to lots I've played.
23  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Is this trying to tell me I have a bad graphics card? on: 2006 December 03, 23:30:22

In that little blur or whatever you want to call it, there is infact a house I have played. As far as I can tell it's completely cosmetic and I don't have any problems or anything like that. It doesn't happen all the time but usually there's one random house that just decides it has to be fucked up like this. Just for clarification I have all the expansions and none of the stuff packs.

Does anyone know WHY it's doing this or what I can do to change it short of buying an actual video card? I have one of those piece of shit integrated ones... or so that's what my mom told me when she bought my computer. I couldn't tell you what it actually is unless someone wanted to tell me how to figure that out.

Also I'm sorry if this has already been addressed.
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Dogs, maids, tubs and beds. on: 2006 November 17, 23:10:59
Actually I'm waiting for some bright creator to make a pet usable tin washtub. I don't really want to wash the dog inside, using the same tub the family uses. No one I know with dogs does that.
Having to rearrange my houses so the tub is dog accessible is a pain too.

Actually, my family does. We have three "small" dogs (at least by maxisEA terms). One just happens to be half the size of the other two. Then again the dogs all sleep in my bed with me too.
