My apologies... I was thinking that looked good to even be an EAxis mesh.
2  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Victorian-type boots. on: 2009 October 04, 08:11:39
Awesome boots. I'm glad someone came up with some color combinations that are better than the standard colors EAxis gave us to start with. A little variety in my ladies' closets will make for some very happy simmies.

Awesome designs - I espescially like how you designed the monestary.

I agree that this is a good idea that you can improve on (and I'm glad to see that you can critique your own work). You already have different themed areas; just expand on the idea of there being different areas. Maybe make a large lobby area that has wings on three sides with different styles of artwork and furnish accordingly?

By the by, the columns glassed in are a nice touch as is your use of color. You're getting there  Wink

For some reason when I saw the thread title "Teensy" and Witch being in charge of it, I imagined a little Hansel & Gretel cottage, just without the gingerbread trim literally being gingerbread... I like how you laid out the rooms though. The angling adds interest.
6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Plots / Re: Seaside Escape - A Breezy Victorian on: 2009 September 06, 04:04:45
I'm glad that it is such a hit. I was super psyched to see them go for so many older styles in the base game and now with the store items it is even better. The Victorian that is on the store is almost French Second Empire, but that's me taking a while stab at it. At any rate, I can't wait to use them. I did build one house, but my computer decided it doesn't like Sandisk and crashed...

I agree on the EAxis clothing mentality. Its rather idiotic to think that the glamorous women of 1870/1880/1890 or even 1920 for that matter would dare wear pants. And, since this is EAxis, they aim for the beautiful (and thus stereotypical of a period).

At any rate, I'm glad you all seem to like it. Better picture quality this time for sure with the in-game image capture.

Seaside Escape

This home is by no means modest. Yes, it has a vast amount of space but this space really can be utilized. There are quick routes to all rooms, as the point of this house was efficiency bred with class. This house is as thoroughly Victorian as I could make it, as is the first one.

The first floor boasts a front hall that gives access both to the front and rear gardens, a dining room with breakfast bar and fireplace, a grand parlour style living room (I essentially joined the parlour and the living quarters for modern convenience), and a kitchen designed for ease of travel between appliances and countertops. Throughout the first layer is wood flooring (other than in the kitchen where it is a more sensible tile).

The second floor contains all three bedrooms and both bathrooms. The bedrooms vary in size and features. The master bedroom has a dressing room that leads into the master bath, giving it a direct route to the bedroom. The front bedroom in the turret has several round windows set high in the wall for an interesting light effect. This bedroom, as well as the third bedroom (the nursery/upstairs study... depending on what you wish to use it for) share a bathroom. Though it is not Hollywood style, it still offers the convenience of two sinks.

The garden has been completely decorated, as has every room. I tried to not go overboard in case someone has a different taste in furniture for this house (I see many possibilities for styles... I'm just stuck in 1880 with a few tweaks of 21st Century for compatibility)

I applaud you for these... espescially when compared with Rootard's "contributions". Very realistic, very playable. The only thing is that on the fixer upper, the top most window has a wood frame and stone surrounds for the panes... that's my only negative comment LOL. It should be the opposite way I believe, since it is a window that supposedly opens. (Who wants to push open a window made of granite?) Otherwise, fantastic work - you got the proportions just right for each style.

See Rootard? We can make pretties too... and have them not be a load of shit.  Grin

I'll be sure to use the story telling option on TS3 when I take new pictures. Last time I took pictures while in edit town mode and that seemed to work pretty well. I do regret the darkness... but I will admit that the houses I build are designed with the intent to be shady looking. There were no air conditioners back in 1880, so people practically built their homes like caverns with deep eaves and windows that allowed indirect light to penetrate rooms. I try to stay as close to the building practices of that time when building these lots.

Also, does anyone have any suggestions on creating stucco with timbering? The closest I made was from paneling that had the wallpaper replaced with mortar.

Thanks for the encouragement; I'll try to get another house together this weekend if I can find the time. I have a few already done; its just a matter of getting screenshots and whatnot.

These look nice and architecturally accurate. Nice job - I like the contrast of the buildings when you make more than one per lot, yet they all work with the roofing choice you made. Very nice.
12  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Plots / Re: Queen Anne Cottage on: 2009 August 25, 22:58:28
I thought it was a rather efficient design, espescially for 1870/1880  Grin I'll try your suggestions for taking better pictures.

The lot is a 30x20, so no huge run to carpool from the front porch nor running across an acre to find the garlic patch.

Edit: is anyone having problems downloading the file from megaupload?
13  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Plots / Re: Queen Anne Cottage on: 2009 August 18, 20:28:45
The screenshots seem darker than in-game. I know the upstairs is kind of a dark "under-the-eaves" kind of place, but the first floor rooms ought to be brighter than the pictures make them out to be. I tried to not clutter the ceiling with lights, so it may need moar lights... perhaps the lights were off when I took screenshots? I apologize.

Edit: I'll attempt to post pics of it with the lights on. Might forget knowing my memory.  Wink

This Queen Anne cottage is targeted at a growing family. With four bedrooms and three bathrooms, it is perfect for keeping the crotch fruit nice and warm at night. This house is based of a vintage plan from 1880, but has been adapted to modern needs (and the short-sightedness of EAxis…)

The first floor has had minor changes due to the inability of stairs to form the desired "L" shaped in the Sim world. The kitchen and living room changed in size some, but that is about all. On this first floor is the master bedroom, bathroom, modest kitchen, and entertaining quarters.

The second floor consists of three more bedrooms and two bathrooms, the space totally reworked for more efficiency. These rooms might also come in handy to be hobby rooms or a play room for the crotch fruit, if you feel like tossing a rock their way to amuse themselves with.

This house features paneling in the entertaining quarters, wood flooring for the majority of the first floor, a fireplace in the dining room, and a kitchen that was redecorated in the 1950's and which had new appliances installed in the late 1980's.

The furnishings for the house are moderately priced and fit the style of the house. I decorated very lightly so that changes can be easily made without a thousand taps of the delete button. The same idea was applied with the light landscaping. Some Simmers might want a vegetable garden while others want a barren yard to watch rocks crop up in - all up to you.

The exterior is painted in a classic color scheme, though I am disappointed that the trim on the horizontal slat siding cannot be painted a separate color. When four slots are available for color options I do not understand why EAxis would only give this one option. Not everyone wants aluminum trailer siding!

16  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Where can I find a No-CD Crack? on: 2009 June 28, 04:35:09
Well, I figured there might be one in there.  Wink I just wasn't able to discern it from the mass of things in there that so many people have uploaded. Like I said, prepared for the sporking.
17  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Where can I find a No-CD Crack? on: 2009 June 28, 04:12:12
I am prepared to be sporked for this question as it has most likely been asked in this forum already but I can't seem to find it. (I did look, people...) Where can I find a Sims 3 No-CD Crack that is free and proven to work? I'd prefer it to not be a torrent, but I'm no picky. I appreciate all help and am already prepared to take the sarcastic comments of all. ^^
