A simple search would tell you that not a single person has managed to get more than 2 or 3 gigs.
My current band has had 19 gigs. All four of them are in the same household and are now elders nearing the end of their life (normal lifespan, started as young adults of varying ages).

I've been playing new custom-made sims in Bridgeport, with no mods or cc. Here are a few things I've noticed:
Some of the opportunities list building names from Sunset Valley, which cannot be fulfilled. For example, there is no city hall in Bridgeport, just a municipal building, and my sim has gotten several opportunities that require going to city hall. There are no opportunity-related options in the city hall menu, and clicking the button to send the sim to fulfill the opportunity adds the request to his queue, but it immediately drops out.
One of my sims could not go to work (level 6 of the acting career). The car pool would show up, but the action would immediately drop out of his queue. I tried clicking on the car pool and work building with the same results. This lasted for a few days, and he was able to do the side-jobs (such as researching for a role). The only difference that I noticed when he was finally able to go to work was that he had showered before the car pool showed up and changed into his work outfit automatically after his shower, and I don't think that he was changing into his work clothes when he wasn't able to go to work.
One of my sims has been in a band for several sim weeks without getting a single gig. When he first started out, he could play for tips in the park, but since then, he's become a vampire and though he plays for tips for hours in parks and bar/clubs and is at skill level 10, he never gets any tips.
Sims crowd the area between the elevator and doorway at the Plasma club every damn night, and when the club closes, everyone gets stuck and no one can leave.
There was an amusing traffic jam on the street outside of the Plasma club, with nearly every sim in the neighborhood standing outside alternately trying to get celebrities' autographs and pictures or puking because unfriendly vampires were in the crowd. It got so crowded no one could move, they just stood there puking repeatedly. It was kind of awesome.

After a few hours of playing (no mods, no cc, in a completely virgin hood), I've run into a pretty bad bug -- the game seems to think my sim is his roommate's firetruck. I first noticed because the game was slowing to a crawl and eventually not responding at all and I had to ctrl-alt-del to get out of it. I have a save from just before it would slow down, so I was looking around to see if I could find what caused it, and low and behold the firetruck was halfway in the doorway of the stadium, where my sim was watching a game. I sent him home, and suddenly he was out in the middle of a field disappearing and reappearing into a hillside, and the truck ended up in the living room. I tried resetting the sim and putting the firetruck into the fireman's inventory, but the sim remains in the middle of the living room, although he performs actions, such as cleaning the toilet, on invisible objects in front of him (and meanwhile in the bathroom, the toilet did get clean). I'm going to try to start it again and delete the firetruck and see if that helps (and grab some screenshots this time!) -- I guess my fireman sim just won't be able to work from home!

Am I crazy, or are there no skill books in the library in Twinbrook?
I guess those two things aren't mutually exclusive. I swear I clicked on every friggin' bookcase and couldn't find any, but I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

I'm having endless problems with the grab hand in a brand new neighborhood I started after patching to 2.3 and grabbing the 2.3 test version of Awesomemod. My family inventory and each sim's inventory are both completely empty. Just trying to use the paintbrush tool to drag over blanket styles from one bed to another resulted in a permanently clenched fist. I started another new Sunset Valley and went into buy/build mode on an unoccupied house and had the same issues.

I'm getting the same error. I'm going to try installing the patch via the launcher first and seeing if that makes any difference.
Edited to add: Yup, that seems to have done it. I changed the sku back to 1, installed the patch via the launcher, changed the sku to 7 again, and was able to install WA. It may just be a coincidence, but it's probably worth a shot.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Has anyone tried this buyable NPC/Townie maker?

Is it normal for townies generated this way to have no interests? I did the deleteallcharacters cheat on a new neighborhood with Uni and NL installed, generated new NPCs, townies, downtownies, and students, then installed OFB. My first family in the neighborhood was having a really hard time making friends, and I just checked Sim PE and saw that all the new sims I generated have no interests except for the NPCs.
Thanks!
