duuuuude i took AM out, and my game CTD'd when I placed a lot. FUCK. I thought that it was AM's fault. Guess not.
3  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 1.2.7/2.7.7/3.3.11 TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 13, 05:59:42
so I took AM out and haven't had freezings, but now I have that fucking Error 16 bullshit
4  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 1.2.7/2.7.7/3.3.11 TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 13, 02:14:07
I don't know if this is AM related at all, but my game is randomly hanging and freezing, forcing me to close the game via the computer's Task Manager. Is anyone else having this issue? I can compile a list of my CC, it's not very much right now (beyond a bunch of arrr'd and decrapified store content) because my game won't load if I have very much in it.
5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Simbots are awesome on: 2010 June 12, 22:12:40
I agree with the previous statements about the Servo from TS1. That thing was awesome.
6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: What could've caused this? on: 2009 December 11, 02:19:37
That's what I'm doing right now. On the plus side, most of my favorite mods have been updated to be compatible, or didn't need updating at all. Those that haven't, I can live without.
7  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: What could've caused this? on: 2009 December 10, 22:22:06
Ah, thanks. I hadn't removed any behavioral mods.

I've decided to just delete all CC and and 'hoods, and just start over from scratch. I've been meaning to clean out my downloads folders for a long time now, so now's the perfect time to do it. (Now I'll only add patterns and stuff that I know I'll use)

Though I did get a rather strange box when I loaded up the game with the AwesomeMod as my only CC.

I had no idea AwesomeMod expired that quick!  Cheesy
8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: What could've caused this? on: 2009 December 10, 20:07:57
Very funny, Pes Tongue I don't even have Sims 1 on this machine.

I encountered another problem: married sims can no longer interact with each other by command. I had a sim who got a wish/want to chat with her husband, but when I tried to direct her to him to talk to him, I got the "No interactions available" tooltip.

Lemme load up the game and get a screencap to show.
9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: What could've caused this? on: 2009 December 10, 04:54:12
That's what I was afraid of. Dammit! Well, it looks like I'll be starting over with a new 'hood then.
10  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: What could've caused this? on: 2009 December 10, 04:19:51
The thing is, I don't have World Adventures.
11  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / What could've caused this? on: 2009 December 10, 03:46:12
What the fuck caused this?

I patched up my game and ran it after updating awesomemod and stuff, and the first time I ran it, it ran just fine, no problems (except that my sims' bookcases, fridge and personal inventories were wiped completely clean) I played for a while. Then my computer decided it wanted to update Windows with a shitload of updates, so I saved and quit and let the computer do its thing, and reboot and stuff.  Then I open up the game, load the lot.... and get this. (The sims all look like that cuz most of them were in bed asleep, though one was down a floor, working out to the TV).

Moreover, 90% of the houses in that 'hood are all just black squares. I closed the game out, rebooted the system, and loaded the game again. Same fucking thing. And I don't think it was the patch that did it, cuz as I said, it worked just fine beforehand.

..... well that's what I get for not RTFMing, I guess.

Thanks!

13  Awesomeware / The Armory / Why are there two rent options? on: 2009 February 08, 00:09:44
(I was directed to post this by Kokopelli, so if you have problems with it, go shoot her)

So, I got Apartment Life. Yeah, yeah. Slowpoke.jpg and all that. I had my reasons. They suck but they are reasons.

I started playing with the apartments, and got confused right away because... well... when I click on a door, I get three options, not two. Kokopelli and I argued back and forth about this -- she thought I couldn't understand why different apartments had different prices, while I kept trying to tell her I was talking about a single apartment -- until I finally took a screencap to show her what the hell I meant. Turns out this ain't normal (at least, she's never seen it)

This is probably just a dumb annoyance, but it IS an annoyance. Why are there two rent prices? The rent itself doesn't change, but why is the down payment different? One is 6755 to the other's 10194. That's nearly 3500 simoleons different. Quite a chunk. That's not renting it furnished, is it? (And if it is, why doesn't it say "rent furnished"?) Is this a hack that didn't get properly updated that I didn't know about? I have way too many hacks (and yes, sadly, many of them are Not Awesome. orz)

I have all EPs and all SPs now. (That includes M&G.) And I removed the Insimenator before playing AL, though I think it was still present within the Downloads folder at the time that I installed the expansion. (I can't imagine that that had anything to do with it, but...)
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do I find this problem object with SimPE? on: 2008 January 24, 22:06:43
Delphy's download organizer can work (though it's bombed on my since compressorizing). It'll scan and you can move all decorative into a separate folder, then binary search just that folder. You'll probably find a shitload of orphan recolors, as well.

EDIT: Links are useful.

Woot! Thanks, Zazazu! I was hoping for something like this!
* staroverthebay mashes the Thanks button

(LOL that makes my dog stare at the computer in interest!)
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do I find this problem object with SimPE? on: 2008 January 24, 01:30:39
Have you tried a binary search to track down the item?

well, I was hoping for a faster way to deal with it. Like, a way of isolating at least all "sculptures" in SimPE so that I can conduct a modified form of that. I really don't want to do that for ALL my CC -- that will take forever.
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / How do I find this problem object with SimPE? on: 2008 January 24, 00:25:54
So, I've got a ton of downloads and CC. Not a surprise. I tend to go through and regularly throw away stuff I know I never use, especially if it's large.

But right now I seem to have a "problem child" if you will, and I can't figure out how to narrow it down in my search, because I have no idea what the object is, though I can locate it in-game.

There's something in my folder (I presume it's a Game Object, but it could have gotten stuffed elsewhere.) that, when I click on it in-game, it causes the game to immediately crash with the message box about "This program has crashed. The application will now close" with only the "ok" option. Afterwards, the game disappears and I'm back at the desktop.

The object has no thumbnail that I can see in the game (I've cleared my thumbnails twice, in vain) and obviously I can't click on it to see what it is. I only know that it's categorized as a Decorative/Sculpture, and that it costs 900 simoleons.

I ran the Folder Scanner of SimPE on my Game Objects folder, with the Health scanner active, and the only things that turned up with the red text (indicating potential issues) are all things I've been able to use in the game, (I even checked each item by opening the package details) things I recognize and have seen and been able to select in-game. So either the health scanner's not picking it up, or it's elsewhere.

I even scanned through my hacks folders, to see if maybe it's a borked hacked object, but again, the only things that came up with red text are things I have used without problems.

The problem I can see is, if it IS elsewhere, how do I figure out which one it is? The Health Scanner doesn't show me any details about the object, such as where it's categorized, or how much its catalogue price is.

I'm pretty sure that it's my only piece of CC that's a Sculpture that costs 900, but I can't seem to find any option to list the catalogue details of various objects so that I can single it out and remove it to see if that's the problem.

Is there a trick I don't know about? Obviously deleting the object in-game is out of the question -- I can't even select it without the game crashing, I can only mouse-over it.

GAH!!!!!!!! OH MY FUCKING GOD WHAT THE FUCKING SHIT?!

Christ on a cracker, these are awful! My morbid curiosity is almost the point of downloading just to see these pieces of work in action!
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Have you guys looked inside your sims' fridges? on: 2007 December 06, 02:27:21
In-game, those look like candies to me, not kimchi, but to each their own. I think they reuse the textures on the bottles in the door.
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Have you guys looked inside your sims' fridges? on: 2007 December 03, 12:34:46
Holy crap.

They stock their fridges with Halloween candy!
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: BV: Anybody Updating These Abandoned Mods? on: 2007 October 30, 23:15:33
Unknown Modder:

May need updating:

AlwaysAcceptInvite.package
AlwaysAcceptJoinGroup.package

AlwaysAcceptInvite.package is Squinge
Therefore, I think it's safe to assume that AlwaysAcceptJoinGroup is as well, but I'll dig some more.

Here's a couple Squinge hack I'm interested in knowing if they're compatible or not:

noadultmascots.package
Bottomlessbirdfood.package
21  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Is there a way to change a Sim's displayed skintone without SimPE? on: 2007 October 16, 22:16:56
I've tracked down which skin-file it is (I remembered what the thumbnail looked like, so I used CleanInstaller to look at them), and turns out it's a skin file that is for a Warlokk mesh. So that explains why the naked sim has no body -- cuz I don't have that mesh. Funny that it works for her with clothes despite the body mesh. Well, I'll disable it, and when SimPE is updated, I'll change her genetics so that the DNA doesn't point to it anymore.
22  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Is there a way to change a Sim's displayed skintone without SimPE? on: 2007 October 16, 00:01:01
So I have this sim I've painstakingly crafted in CAS (STFU, it took me forever to build her because I'm so damned indecisive) and I think she's pretty cute, and she's rather fun for a knowledge sim.

But she's got this weird side effect whenever she gets naked to take a shower or a bath... That's right: floating head! No body at all, not even hands or feet, just a random floating head. It goes back to normal when she gets dressed.

I used a custom skintone with her, (and I don't remember who the creator is), so I assume it's a flaw in the skintone or an incompatibility with BV. I'm willing to deal with that... but this is really disconcerting to see, and I'd like to change her displayed skintone to a default one if I could. I can fix her genetic one later, once SimPE is out, but meanwhile, I don't want to use her because her bodilessness freaks me out whenever she showers or bathes.

Problem is, how do I change her displayed skintone? Since SimPE isn't working for BV yet, and you can't change skintones by going to the mirror and selecting "Change Appearance" I can't figure out what to do to put a temporary bandaid on this problem so I can continue playing this sim without cheating her hygiene at 100% all the time so I don't have to deal with her naked.
23  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: FFS "Batbox" Lot Debugger v2.0: NUCLEAR WAR EDITION on: 2007 September 22, 18:34:45
I love the Smite option. I have had so much fun smiting walkbys. I've even killed a number of Sims without meaning to. All of them have been Townies, cuz I don't quite have the guts to kill a playable.

Thanks for the Smite, option, Pes. That always brightens my day, no matter how down and out I feel. Combined with Inge's teleporter shrub, and I have endless possibilities.
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Deleting glitchy / screwy memories on: 2007 July 26, 21:38:14
I could be wrong, but I think meeting drama professors causes some sort of weird glitch like the one you've described. Pescado's fix for this is called 'dramafix' and will prevent it from happening, but I don't think it will help any memories and wants that are already borked. It could be worth a try, though.

That actually helps, I think, cuz I know at least one is a Drama major (and both of them might be, I don't remember.)

I have Dramafix, but maybe I didn't have it installed at the time they first met the drama profs? I do have it now, I know that, I just checked.
25  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Deleting glitchy / screwy memories on: 2007 July 26, 01:01:57
I have all offical EPS (plus Glamour Life and the Holiday minipack), as far as I know I have all patches. And yes, I think I have all the critical fixes from this site. I have the director's cut, with the things I don't want trimmed out (small things like "Yellow pee")
