1  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / M&G Error: Animation name is empty string. OFFENDING FILE FOUND on: 2008 November 25, 14:26:59
I have all EPs, and installed M&G before work this morning, and everything appeared to be smooth, but then I kept getting this repetitive error that appears to involve an idle animation.

I removed my DL folder and restarted, and the error ceased; I plan on doing a binary search after work to isolate the offending file.

However, I wanted to post the error log in case someone who is much more capable than I at interpreting them can deduce what's wrong, in the hopes that it might help someone, somewhere.

EDIT: I traced the problem to Carrigon_NoWhistlingFT.package

This pack is more like a mini EP, adding new cheats and new animations, e.g. sniffing the flowers. It's built on the latest EP engine like FFS or GLS.

So, if it's more like an EP, does that affect the validity of mods/hacks?  Or does it not affect it the same way a true EP does?

they now run all the way to the mailbox instead of just out of the room.

I have noticed this as well.

Totally normal coding.

That's normal?  Well, I certainly feel unobservant!  Was there ever a time, like back when NL first came out, where that wasn't the case and you could get your sims all fancy-pantsed to go downtown?  Which, incidentally, was probably the last time I tried to do this.

Known bork. Sure you don't have TJ's hacks for bringing friends home, though?

I do have that, actually.  I wasn't aware of that issue, thanks for your help!

You can use Wardrobe Wrangler to reclassify formal clothing as also 'everyday'

Thanks, I may do just that!

This isn't necessarily urgent, but anytime something starts behaving differently, I'm unsure if it's just superficial or indicative of a larger (or a potentially larger) issue.

Outfits don't "stick".  If I change a sim into formal, for example, and then go to a comm lot, he's in everyday when he arrives.  When he goes to work he changes into his work clothes, but when the carpool drops him off, he's back in everyday.

It's not causing an error or anything.

I haven't added any new hacks or dls recently, save for the updates to the maty.zip from 10/28 up, and I overwrote the old files with the new in the subfolder, so as to prevent issues.

Again, it's not urgent, just wondering if anyone's encountered this.

I, too, am having macro-clean result only in taking out the trash, when there is clearly much to clean (toilets, showers, counters, etc.).  I have EPs up to FT, no BV, and no SPs.

Well put.

When I upgraded a fresh-out-of-CAS adult sim to post-uni status, and then tried to get him a job, it told me that he couldn't get a job until his grades improved (teen message).  I found a work-around by reverse-aging him to a teenager, then adjusting his grade to an A, then growing him back up.  But I was wondering if there was something I was doing improperly at the first.

Thanks for your help.

Thank you, Mootilda!

Sorry if I'm making someone be redundant; I scanned through and thought I found my answer but now I can't find it again...SO: I have EPs up through SEA. If I buy FT, install it, and run it with a no-CD patch, then I don't get securom. I also understand that I can install FT, install the patch, and run a patched no-CD crack.  But I am unsure if installing the patch will also install securom.

Thanks for your patience.
