1  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: CTD after 10 seconds of playing (Not on Loading screen) on: 2012 March 07, 18:34:56
I'm saying that you're an idiot, and that any information you relay regarding your installation is subject to scrutiny.

In your first post you said:

Quote
This morning I got Sims 3 along with all expansions installed, I ran the launcher once to update the game, downloaded a 1 gig patch, once that was finished I came here and downloaded the AwesomeMod Auto Updater, it gave me FPSLimit, 3booter, the test version of 1.31 and framework,...

and then in another previous post you wrote:

Quote
I don't have any other mods, just AwesomeMod and whatever else was given to me via the AwesomeMod Auto Updater, NoBuildSparkles, NoGreenHair, NoIntro, RuleOf6, StrayGnomeFix, 3booter, and FPS Limiter.[/i]

not to mention your other posts where you ask Google-able BASIC QUESTIONS, and then answer your own fucking questions with more inane posts. You can also take your squee and DIAF.

So YES, I'm saying that you have demonstrated with your contributions to MATY that you are too stupid to be trusted to have installed any Awesomeware correctly.
2  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: CTD after 10 seconds of playing (Not on Loading screen) on: 2012 March 07, 17:19:30
Next time, read the whole manual. From the Q & A at the bottom:

Quote
Q: Can I use this as an AwesomeMod, RuleOf6, NoGreenHair or StrayGnomeFix easy installer?
A: No, you can't. It checks if they are installed before updating them.
3  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: CTD after 10 seconds of playing (Not on Loading screen) on: 2012 March 07, 05:21:37
Auto-Updater doesn't "give" you anything. It checks to see which TS3 Awesomeware you ALREADY HAVE INSTALLED and then updates any of those files, if needed.

I think you need to go RTFM.  In fact, I think there are many manuals you might need to fucking read.

<snip>

From what appears to be your post in the SnootySims forums:
Quote
@Iggy: your 'soupage' from the official forum was noticed at maty (you know them, they love drama and 'lulz'). I allowed myself to post there a copy of the explanations you gave here above. Feel free to burn me and send me to hell if you don't agree (and here is the perfect place for a little laughing icon).

The next time you want to be "helpful" or slag MATY, just fuck off.  You are officially included in the "squealy BBS bobble-head" category I mentioned.
5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: a new world, Coconut Island on: 2011 January 12, 00:40:10
I want to know what this Other Site is, it sounds naughty.

Anyone else struggling to see why this month's flavour of soup is Coconut Milk? I am at a bit of a loss as to what ACTUALLY happon. So, the "professor" said something about buggy releases, Agger's rival says "don't start", and then suddenly there is Soup? WTF? Where is the dramaz, the intrigue, the OHNOSHEDIN'T? Pah, this is a Soup in a teacup. I WANT TO SEE THE SHIT HITTING THE FAN DAMMIT.

Squealy BBS bobble-heads will invariably fail to provide the level of shit-flinging your entertainment needs demand.  The overlords don't like their Stepford charges behaving in any manner other than permanent circle-jerk group affirmations and "creator" worship, and take action as required to elicit the desired behaviors.  Can't have anyone being "direct" or "honest" over there, it makes the EA teat-suckers cry.
6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: a new world, Coconut Island on: 2011 January 11, 16:48:51
Prof Plumbob is active at Snooty sims too, and he has a thread for Coconut there (link here).

He said there that the final version should be ready within the next 2 weeks. Just a little bit of patience from now on!

Anyhow, the last updates on the official forums were very nice, and I'm much looking forward this world too.

You must be unaware of this then.  ProfPlumbob souped from the official forums and took down the Mediafire download for Coconut Island three days ago - the only download of version 3.0, by the way.  Once again, members of the "official" community are/were acting like juvenile asshats.
7  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: a new world, Coconut Island on: 2011 January 10, 00:16:53
Anyone happen to have a copy of Coconut Island 3.0 from the Dec 31st update?
8  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AM not running on vanilla? on: 2010 July 31, 23:05:03
Just on the off chance... if you're re-installing on a new computer, was it the kind of upgrade where you also transferred everything in your My Documents folder?  If so, did you also transfer your Electronic Arts folder as part of the process?  If they are present, your old game files will interfere with your new installation, since you've backtracked from having expansions installed to just the base game for now.
9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Fix for photograhy issues. Updated (and fixed 2010-06-07) for 1.12/2.7/3.3/4.0 on: 2010 July 20, 04:59:30
The mod fixed a few of the problems I was having, much appreciated.

Also, I was able to finally get the "Home Decor" subject completed for the "Home Sweet Home" collection.  I succeeded after looking at the XML file a bit, and when I threw down a floor lamp and a vase next to each other, the game recognized the subject immediately.  Specifically it was the Petite Pagoda lamp and the Dragon's Vase (misc. decor) that worked for me.
10  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Game freezing on: 2010 July 19, 20:24:36
When i reached a point where one of my household sims when to school as a child for the first time, she didn't enter, and instead biked home, then at around 2:20 pm the game would freeze every time i would accelerate time forward Time stops, but certain things continue to happen like the crystal above the sims head still spins. It's not happening on other previous saves, so i can simply go back a bit in time, but i'd like to fix this because this is a hassle for me. Any help would be appreciated.

How, exactly, is your problem related to AwesomeMod?
11  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: SIMS 3 crash on: 2010 July 19, 00:20:15
I had SIMS3 and awesomemod on my old computer and everything worked beautiful. I bought a new computer, and downloaded SIMS on it and it will not work. I have followed http://ts3.tscexchange.com/index.php?topic=1398.0 step by step to be 100% sure that I am doing everything correctly. However, the launcher wont even open. When I try, the error "There was an error during startup. Please see the LOG for more details" comes up and the game exits.

I do not have WA or any expansion packs, just the plain SIMS 3.

First, is Awesomemod even installed when you get the error?

Second, have you checked the LOG?

Third, if you're following the instructions from another forum, why are you HERE asking for help when you should be OVER THERE?
12  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Why am I still getting the Update warning? on: 2010 July 17, 17:33:59
Awesomemod was working fine and so I know I had it installed properly but now I'm getting the update warning so I downloaded the new file and replaced the one I had in the game with the new one, cleared my caches and relaunched the game and I'm still getting the warning that I need to update the game !?

Why am I still getting the warning?

Clear your browser cache and then try downloading the current version.
13  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 1.2.7/2.7.7/3.3.11 TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 10, 23:04:19
This thread Is 15 pages long, unlike most of you I don't have that much time on my hands to search through bullshit, when someone could simply be a good person and help me.  however people on threads, (In specific this one) Are complete and utter douche bags, who do not have feel like dealing with "n00bs". So can someone please take the GIANT stick out of their ass and help me, por favor.

You wouldn't walk into a Rotary Club meeting and tell them how to run their show would ya?  I didn't think so.  Learn the culture of MATY and comply, or GTFO.
14  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Socially Deprived Larvae Suck! on: 2009 July 14, 03:01:06
If you direct them to play with the stuffed bear it raises their social, just like talking to plants does for sims with the Green Thumb trait.  Don't know if this can be done if the bear is in the toddler's inventory, but I do know it can be done if the bear is placed on the floor.
15  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: 24/7 Ghost - Just will not return to gravestone on: 2009 July 13, 19:08:04
Have you tried talking to any of the ghosts and using the "Ask to Leave" or even the "Ask Everyone to Leave" command?

You may have to move the 24/7 ghost to the cemetery.  The mausoleum functions as a container (like a fridge) if you use the "Manage Dead" command on it.  You can the the urn or tombstone and place it in the mausoleum.  You can also just put the tombstone on the cemetery grounds if you want.
16  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Any information on core mod compatability? on: 2009 July 13, 00:59:25
I'm not talking about an exclusive elite but about the majority of game players that sure didn't buy the game to learn programing.

Those who can, do.  Those who can't, download.  It's not rocket science.  No one has to learn anything to play the game, and fortunately there are any number of talented (and no-so-talented) people out there sharing their mods with the community.  Besides, it's a hell of a lot easier to mod TS3 than TS2.

It is going really to be the maximum of pain when besides having to worry about compatibility with EA you have to worry about being compatible with everyone that produces Core Mod or not. Every release will cause you to have to check several different places and we all know that modders get angry on each other and move out with all their work in the wallet. Create a new site for own releases and close it some months later. Even programs that seem to be very clever can disappear by reason of no compatibility or the creator just got fed-up of it. When you mention one specific case is just to give an example. I give a damn on if there was a mod or not. It was just an example.

Do you by any chance know anything about the Elder Scrolls community?  Especially with the Oblivion game, the modders and mod users face these problems constantly, and have for several years.  Mods always had to be checked for patch compatibility, new mods (by modders with any sense) were designed to not conflict with other major or popular mods as much as possible.  Much like TS3, when it came to overhaul mods, it used to be that THERE COULD BE ONLY ONE!  Now, in the last year, the designers and teams behind the major overhaul mods got together and created a way for all four of the major overhaul mods to work together.  And in that process they took the game experience to a whole new level.  They also managed to incorporate at least a dozen other mods into their Convergence beta.

The Elder Scrolls games have been marked by their success at making modding possible by just about anyone who wants to learn the basics.  TS2 is more difficult to mod than Oblivion, in my opinion.  Now with the release of TS3, I'd have to say that EA just jumped way ahead of Bethsoft in that department.

The problems you use as examples have always been a part of community modding, they've even been a part of the Sims modding community in the past.  When the time and interest are both there, the Sims 3 overhaul modders will likely embrace the challenge of merging their mods in various ways.  Only six weeks have passed since release day.  Modders just need MOAR TIME to familiarize themselves with the game code before we go jumping off bridges.
17  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: I don't want your goddam crappy macaroni and cheese! on: 2009 July 12, 21:53:55
And why do all these uninvited people show up? Then they all go upstairs with their plates of crappy hotdogs, get stuck on the upstairs porch, and then tell me the party was lousy *shakes fist at Townies*.

It looks like all the invitations are "guest + 1", so any sim you invite has a chance to bring a friend.  Maybe the devs were trying to facilitate the meeting of new acquaintances & friends in the game.  Clearly they missed the boat, since friends in Sims 3 are not "needed" as they were in Sims 2.
18  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 July 11, 07:20:46
When I download the AwesomeMod Configuation file and put it in my package folder it looks like this "aweconf.package.xml". Is this how  the file is supposed to be or do I need to remove the xml at the end of it?

Remove the .xml extension.  It should download as "aweconf.package", without the extension anyway.
19  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: "Old Car Syndrome" crash FIX!!!! on: 2009 July 10, 09:42:57
It SEEMS to work... but I understand fully that it really doesn't do shit besides make me feel better about myself.

That's pretty much the deal with my voodoo.  I might as well light some incense, wave a stick a my monitor, spill chicken blood on my case and turn around three times before sitting down at my desk.  I'm sure it would work as well as my defrag.

I'm all for a fix for the loading screen crash, but I'll actually trust one after it gets a PSA (Pescado Seal of Approval).  Until then, everything is just L&P.
20  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: "Old Car Syndrome" crash FIX!!!! on: 2009 July 10, 09:12:50
I went with C:\The Sims 3, as an example of Pescado's comment.

My voodoo: delete all cache files in Documents\Electronics Arts\The Sims 3 folder, empty recycle bin, defrag, start game.  The defrag seems to be the key on my system for some reason, and now the game starts every time.  Other players' mileage may vary.

A pox on EA for not fixing their own shit!
21  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Making custom skins and clothes on: 2009 July 10, 09:08:59
You might want to inquire over at the Mod the Sims community, since that seems to be where many of the new, non-paysite creations are being offered.  MATY is generally more for game fixes (because EAxis always breaks their own shit) and hacks.

22  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Easy way to Magical gnomes and are they bugged? on: 2009 July 06, 21:26:09
My gnomes won't budge unless I kick their shortasses, and even then it's rinse and repeat if I want a different pose. It doesn't matter if I've renamed them or not, or have the camera pointed at them for over a week.

According to the Prima Guide (take with a big grain of salt) gnomes move when you're not looking at them.  I took the "looking at them" part to mean when the camera is not focused on them.
23  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Where are all the townies? on: 2009 July 06, 03:04:16
I was able to place all the homeless households in my 'hood with the instructions provided.  For some reason or another, within one in-game week, half of the families I placed had moved out again during story mode updates done by the game engine.  Do sims like being homeless, or might there be a bug in play, or does the game's decision-making process just suck that much?

It's not a huge deal at the moment.  I think I'll try another route around this issue: moving in homeless sims with which my one fambly has high enough relationship scores, then moving them out again to new abodes in the town.  At the very least I can control the flow of money with the familyfunds command so as to not bork my fambly.

ETA: Using the above solution I went from ~20 homeless families to less than 10, and they're all staying in their houses after two in-game weeks.  This is probably a better way to go to avoid borking.
24  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: I'll have some a what Yumi Sekemoto's smoking on: 2009 July 05, 09:15:06
I had a permanent 'warm fire' moodlet. Went away when my Sim visited a real fire and left again.

If your sim has a Flame Fruint in his/her inventory then the "Cozy Fire" moodlet will be in effect, just as if the sim were sitting in front of a fireplace.  Unless your sim is bugged and has no Flame Fruit in his/her inventory?
25  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Stuck cups on: 2009 June 27, 21:48:57
I just had this happen.  I've never directed this glitching sim to drink anything but her animations are glitching like she has a cup in her hand.  She was sleeping, but the glitch would cause her avatar to look like she was standing (colliding with the bed no less) with a cup in her hand.  She'd go back and forth between lying down and standing, but she was sleeping the whole time according to her motives.  The next morning, while gardening, in between each plant she'd glitch into the cup-holding animation again, which caused everything to take longer since the glitch would last 3-5 in-game seconds.

I tried resetting her, but it didn't help.
