She didn't really have the best inspiration there, did she?

2  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Plots / Re: Fambly starter - colour challenge. on: 2010 June 16, 15:55:33
I'm really struggling with this - I keep generating colors schemes and dismissing them as hideous, but I've been using the same range of blues and neutrals in all of my houses for a month or more - I'm bored!

Any suggestions?

The houses I have my playable/sacred sims live in are color coded to them and given whatever design style it seems like the adults would want.

I've been doing this for a while, using the favorite colors of the adults and customizing bedrooms to the spawns' favorites, but I've had multiple generations now with almost identical favorite colors.

So am I correct in inferring that if I'm using awesomemod and disabling the cd-check I can run the game off of the original exe without an issue?

/noob question

Downloaded the June 12th awesomemod update, am now getting no text when I cntrl+click to make a sim chosen. I get the icon, the sim is assigned the correct trait, and everything seems to be working well, but there is no text on the menu.

Interesting idea! I've been stuck in a color rut lately and have started a fairly ambitious building project. Thanks to the patch allowing for in-game lot placement I've broken up some of the huge lots and am turning them into affordable housing. I'll play around with this and post pictures if I come up with anything decent.
6  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 1.2.7/2.7.7/3.3.11 TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 11, 11:34:49
I'm getting a system error when trying to access one household's family tree. I'm downloading a new copy of the test awesomemod to see if that fixes it at all. I have only the base game installed, plus patches.

Well, a redownload of awesomemod did nothing to fix this. The error is screencapped below.

Edit: removed the huge picture since it is not awesomemod related.
7  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / "The process could not be started!" error on: 2010 June 08, 13:23:23
I'm running the base game retail (region 1) and the reloaded version of WA (region 2). I patched, had an issue of not realizing that I could patch my base game without uninstalling WA, and so had uninstalled WA. I patched my base game, reinstalled WA, patched the original exe, switched to the crack, put in the framework including the new awesomemod, and went to start the game. I had launcher freezes, which seem to have resolved themselves. The framework seems to be working properly because I'm not getting a no disk warning with awesomemod in my packages folder. All I get is "the process could not be started" whether I try to launch from the launcher OR the cracked exe. I've used this particular WA download before with no problems, but I've gone through two re-installs of WA with the same result. Google isn't telling me a whole lot, except to check my properties and make sure that things are targeted to the right exe - but if I'm hand-selecting the file I want to run, that shouldn't be an issue, right?

Help is appreciated. I haven't tried to reinstall the base game as well, I'm trying to avoid that if possible.

Edit:

I went through a complete uninstall of the base game and WA, patched completely using the launcher to patch the base game and the downloaded patch from Mod the Sims. Still having the error. I'm guessing this is a problem with the patch?

Update:
The non-cracked WA exe will run the game, but the cracked exe will not. What damage am I doing if I run the game with out the crack?

I had found those last night - not much info out there about it, although I think its safe to say that the poster of those downloaded the same "keygen" I did. Everything is cleared up now. I'm a little frustrated that AVG did not detect it.
9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Strange issue with keygen on: 2009 November 25, 03:00:58
I'd looked in the startup folder, but not msconfig. I've got a lovely little gem named "logan estudos Operating System" that is showing.

My backup disks have disappeared in a *poof*. I'm still under warranty, worse case scenario I can send it in to be reformatted but I'd rather not.

Edit: Avast picked it up, although AVG did not.
10  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Strange issue with keygen on: 2009 November 25, 02:46:40
"Scene" as in major warez releasers, as opposed to random Russian satellite state keylogger-infested pirate sites.

If the keygen is "loading" on startup (I'm not certain what that involves based on the description) and you didn't put it in your startup items, something funky's going on. It's not possible to predict what without seeing your shit, or knowing more details on the problem. It's also tough to judge how serious a problem this is. Could be nothing. Could be something.

Based on the general impression that I get from your post though, I'm going to predict the following scenario:

1) This is one of a number of viruses and trojans that you'll get in the indeterminate future.
2) Eventually, your machine's performance is going to degrade significantly. At that point, you will either take it in to Geek Squad and pay several hundred dollars for them to re-install Windows, or you will purchase a new computer from Dell.

Cute! I'm actually scanning the hell out of it at this point, and oh! I don't buy computers from Dell, OR use geek squad. Interesting way to waste some money though.
11  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Strange issue with keygen on: 2009 November 25, 01:43:48
"Scene"? Anyway.

I've run everything through virus scans, and it isn't pulling anything up.
12  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Strange issue with keygen on: 2009 November 25, 01:30:10
I downloaded and used the following keygen:  http:/ /www.torrenthound.com/torrent/3ccd11c75b91f442748d5a2efa3b8a7ef999f0c3 (download link out of firefox), which is labeled The+sims+36+world+adventures+keygen+only.torrent in my downloads history. I used it, installed World Adventures, and have been noticing something strange. On startup my computer loads the keygen. I've deleted the downloaded file as well as the torrents, but it seems like it might be tied into my WA install. Is this anything to worry about, or more of an inconvenience?
13  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Bugs in WA on: 2009 November 24, 04:24:18
I'm getting the food spoilage bug - anything my sims cook and store for leftovers spoils within 24 hours.

Auestion mark tiles appeared at the art gallery about three hours into the hood's existence. They were there the very first time I loaded the lot. This hood has supreme commander running as well as family switching frequently.

Are you deleting cache files? Also if they were installed via the launcher you will need to delete a specfic cache file and reinstall all of your sims3.pack files. Not on my home computer so not sure which cache file it is.

and screw you all the people who were unneccessarily rude about the lack of an update, like you were paying us or anything.

Am I the only one who read this and thought "Why WOULD anyone be paying you?" Also, I'm not really sure what I think about two people who started something and couldn't follow through with it for more than a month or so - a quick glance at TS2 modding would have clued them into what a time sink it is.
18  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: TSR Merlin !!! (magicaly giving TSR information about your downloads?) on: 2009 August 03, 14:08:23
Thanks lark. I wouldn't be surprised if they think that releasing tools like this will get non-members to trust them and sign up. I know that for me, I started out at TSR from following a link on the official site, and never would have even heard of MTS except for needing to download the CEP and other tools in order for CC to work. By TSR cutting out the need for programs from other sites, they'll be cutting down on the number of sheep who have contact with the outside sims world, which in turn with increase profit and site growth for them. The less people need to leave TSR, the less people will learn about the booty, and the slimy things TSR has done.
19  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: TSR Merlin !!! (magicaly giving TSR information about your downloads?) on: 2009 August 03, 04:17:17
Would someone be willing to quote the text here? I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd like to rubberneck but doesn't want to go to TSR at all. (If I am the only one, nevermind...)
20  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Custom eyebrows on: 2009 August 02, 00:57:13
MTS has a history of being slightly prejudiced against "alternative" uploads. How much neon do you see there, for example? I'd pimp these out at GOS if I were you.
21  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: BREAKING NEWS: TSR INSTALLS SPYWARE! on: 2009 July 31, 02:08:29
Also, has anyone else heard that Shan0w's photobucket images were replaced with less than family friendly materials within a short amount of time of his TSR tool screenshots surfacing?
22  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Breeding results in huge eyebags... ALWAYS - no matter what. on: 2009 July 27, 18:04:11
Extract one of these sims, upload to mediafire or something, and let other people test them. It really looks like a bad skin OR the result of two sims breeding ugly. Sometimes sims made to be unique make really ugly spawn.
23  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Why does slutty slacker grandma get to bring the baby to the cake? on: 2009 July 24, 04:13:32
Now, that's just bizarre. Seriously, WTF was EA thinking?

Make the bed, grow up the baby, clean the toliet = profit! Obviously.  Roll Eyes
24  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Why does slutty slacker grandma get to bring the baby to the cake? on: 2009 July 24, 04:03:19
I have a habit of shift-click-age transitioning ALL of my spawn to screenshot, and then exiting w/o saving in order to play them and let them grow up. I'm going to say that it seems to be plain old EAxian sadorandomness. Most recently the male, YA or Adult Maid was the one who grew up the baby.

There were two parents, two aunts, and two elder grandparents available on the lot. The maid was the one chosen for the "honor".

I've not tried any of this, so there's probably something I'm missing, but why can't one of the very helpful content creators who are so generously giving us bodyhair overlays use as a base one of the accessories that don't come off in the shower/bath, like, uh, earrings? I'm pretty sure my Sims wear their earrings in the shower. I think. Of course, if that's the case, and it worked, then hairy Sims couldn't also have earrings, but I think that's one tradeoff I could live with.

From messing around with the CTU a very small amount my guess is that this is because such a small amount doesn't allow for use on the rest of the body- there just isn't anything there to work with.
